I remember playing it and hearing this song and it's one of those that stays in your head for the rest of your life. So I figured now is the time to do a cover of it!
I finally got fed up with how clunky and buggy Audacity has been and switched to Tracktion's Waveform and I am really glad I did! It took me a bit to get used to the new software but I won't be going back to Audacity now. It's so much easier to record and edit, and it actually looks nice and works really well. It actually makes the editing and recording process way easier once I figured it out, and it should actually speed up my "workflow" with this stuff!
I also tried to capture more of what "my process" looks like and how it comes together, if anybody gives a crap! I included the Renoise project and waveform recordings showing all the tracks I recorded for this cover. I also clicked around on the software synths while Renoise was recording and feel like it looked pretty cool. I also used a lot different sounds than I usually do for this song since it's in such a different style than I'm used to. I really wanted to get it to sound "pretty" but maybe not too much like Enya or Yanni or something lol
I also dusted off the Modal Craftsynth 2.0 for this one, which gets some really wild and useable sounds. I need to use it more! I also found this weirdo synth called Xenfont2 which is supposed to be some kind of algorithmic hybrid/rompler thing kind of like the Roland D50, and it gets some really unique sounds! It's weirdly complicated but it was doing some cool stuff so I used it for a lot of the main lines here!
