Having just bought one I think some sort of release mechanism to free the end from the handle would be brilliant, it could be readied behind the leg one handed so an assailant wouldn't know you were armed until it was to late, a trigger maybe.

Although I don’t plan on using it to defend myself from humans, I live in an area with many big not exactly friendly dogs, I think a good strike across the nose will sort our problems out. Day 3 with my new Fast Strike. The more I play around with this thing the more effective it becomes. It almost teaches the user by how it moves.
Flipping the wrist while throwing a jab-like punch or any punch gives and extra 17 inches of reach!
The speed at which this gets moving cannot be followed by the human eye so if deployed with a wrist snapping motion a person could easily strike an attacker’s face (eyeball, mouth, ear, or head) without him even seeing it. He would feel it and the shock of it all would buy someone a few seconds to get some distance. However, I’d use that time instead to whip the piss out of the attacker with a barrage of lightening fast face/head strikes. It would more than equalize a situation like that in my favor unless he pulled out a gun, in which case I would get away.
Using it before the attacker could bring a gun out would also disorient him, if hit in the face or head. This would also give the victim enough time to get away while the attacker is composing himself.
Don’t just buy this product and discard it as an inferior product until you experiment with it for a week. Play with it, performing air strikes, bag strikes or go out to a wood line and practice on some bush. The Fast Strike will teach YOU how to use it. Your body and mind will catch on quickly because it becomes a part of you or an extension of you if you will.
Dave, you are the only company making this product. Why are you charging only the low $20s for it? You are really missing some profits. You know I paid $39 for a small Surefire flashlight for my edc. If people would pay that much for a simple flashlight how much more would they pay for an effective self defense tool that is legal to carry/conceal everywhere?
Also, if you charge more then your product will have more value to your buyers. It’s psychological but true. I’d have paid $39-59 for this as would most anyone else.
You might want to raise your price. Selling it in the low $20s might make people think it’s just another cheap Chinese made plastic product.
For those of you still reading my lengthy post you need to buy one before Dave increase the price. I inspected the workmanship and this definitely screams, “American Made!” The handles are some thick polymer like G10 stuf. The finishe has no burrs or uneven seems. The bus fastened to screws that hold the handle together are lock nuts. They won’t back themselves off the screws. The tip and shaft are put together evenly and they even go so far as to put an extra layer of wrap around the first few inches of the whip spring as it comes out of the handle.
FYI, TH-cam Eskrima strikes to help you learn some strikes and patterns. The Fast Strike does well with these.
Bottom line, GET ONE!
You should put electricity at the extremity. Like an taser, an mechanism that grabs at the skin of the agressor and send a high electricity. It could extend so you can be far from the agressor.

Personally this is a preemptive attack weapon. I’ve seen some people make fun of it in the comments below. I did purchase one of these. You can make your own version based on what is seen here in the video by going to your local lumber warehouse store and buying wire rope which has given me ideas. This does do the job when you have a fuck mouthing off thinking he’s Tony Soprano tough guy. I recommend no one be around when you whip this thing out. The job is done in one strike. Don’t wait until your being attacked-use it when you feel it going down. Also I don’t recommend looping it. I like the tension to be very rigid so I place mine in my belt loops above my belt If I’m wearing a tucked in shirt then I place it inside my jacket or coat since it has a belt clip. If I’m not carrying it rest assured I’m carrying something else.

Mr. Swoop It Up I have the second generation. Just another tool in the tool box or arsenal. I think like you. I don’t start shit but people mistake kindness for weakness. So as soon as they invade my personal space of 5 feet and attempt to touch me well he’ll remember me for the rest of his sorry life. And I did buy wire rope and made an improvised version of this that I put under the front seat of my car. It’ll definitely leave a scar. Hey, if they ask for it. Hope that helps.

Hello all, I have made versions with interchangable striking tips that I do plan to offer in future models. The problem with models like this is that they are more lethal and create significantly more damage. They also become more difficult to use, carry and deploy. More weight on the end makes for a less reactive whip and self striking becomes more of an issue. Future models will have this option but it will be a more industrial design.

I initially assumed the 12" striking part was hidden inside the handle when not deployed and that pressing a button would forcefully eject and extend it. Unfortunately, that is not the case. While I do see it as potentially useful, in the present configuration I just see it as a bit too awkward in shape for me to carry as a self-defense tool. I also feel it should extend at least 16"-18".
Sir, I think you should add a one handed release system so the deployment is faster. Maybe something like a button thats easily pressed to release it along with a safety system of some sort to prevent kids from getting to it when its at home and left unattended by a careless person since u cant regulate who purchases this based on who they are since you wont know who they are

These types of features will be offered at some point in the future as it is very expensive to create these new features and options. In my safety manual, I reference the point of not storing this coiled up and highlight the fact that there is no safety holding the striker in the handle, only friction. This product, when not being carried should be stowed in the uncoiled position and it should be kept out of reach of children. The safety manual ships with every Fast Strike sold and is also available on my website in multiple languages.

How long is the cable!? I think the Gen 1 is 12".

Seems to be pretty much the same as the original. I'm looking at them both right now. Also I wish you would ship them in the straight position. The cable on both have a permanent bend to the left, from being coiled too long? I don't know, but I take it out the bag & already got a bent cable, and needs re -tensioning. Still, I like It enough to overlook the little stuff. AND IT WORKS. IT IS DEADLY ACCURATE!
*I also don't hide mine. I wear it under my jacket clipped to the front pocket of my jeans & let it hang down outside my leg.Most folks dont even notice it, & those who do have no idea what it is.

Can you make a flexible slim case for it that can be attatched to the straps of bags like the strap of sling bags? I always go out with a bag and it would be great if I had a concealed weapon that I can whip out in an instant easily. It would be better that way than having it around the waist or curled up in my pocket.
Hello. We can look into adding this as an accessory in the near future. Right now the focus is on getting some new models kicked out in the next few months to include longer versions and models with larger components. Hello, I personally love to carry it around my waist like a belt. However, my daughter recommended something more compact because she said as a woman wearing tight leggings or jeans it was difficult to conceal carry. Now she just loops it up and sticks it inside her coat pocket and no one even knows it is there! It is the exact same weapon as before, the only difference is that it is much more compact. We have made a longer version and it still works really well. The only problem with adding length is self striking can become a problem.

Hello, we cannot specifically say that it has ever been used on someone who is heavily under the influence but we definitely have had people use it on assailants. Every scenario that we have been told about, our guy with the whip wins. Regardless if the assailant is jacked up on drugs or not, we always recommend aiming to strike the face and hands as those are two areas where it is easiest to inflict serious pain.

I live in Canada where is gets to -40c so we're all bundled up in our ski jackets 8 months out of the year. Have you tried this against thicker winter jackets and snow pants?
Gayle Thorn I can confirm it would work against a hoodie, however I can’t see the being affective against thick winter clothing. Your best bet would be a pepper spray (DO NOT get a cheap kind, they make pepper spray guns) I have one, it’s great. However I was looking for something less gun-shaped for open carry.
Get a Brusso "Defender 2".
I'm ordering one, but the Gen3 model needs 5 things to make this a viable self-defense weapon:
1) One-handed deployment system
(Snap in and out or lever release)
2) 2 added inches of length (better reach while keeping its short burst ability)
3) Multiple color options (better concealment with clothing)
4) Better handle design (it looks like a piece of cheap plastic that's sharp on the end with a built-in speaker 👎
5) Should be over $35 so it won't feel like a cheap product (Earn more money)
Otherwise, it's a bland self defense tool with major flaws. Adding these changes, or even the first 2 changes only, makes this a top 5 self defense tool automatically, and one synonymous with such tools as a flashlight or knife.

So FS-14, could mean the 14".
This is a great self defense tool, especially being elastic, it helps to deliver a massive strike. As I shared a story with the creator of this product, a similar style home made self defense tool I had made out of electric wire, SAVED my life from an attacker with a knife. I hit him on the face and it cut his face open and gave me time to run. This gives you distance from attacker unlike a knife or knuckle or other things that require less distance. In self defense, distance is your best friend.
A surprise strike to face or legs, can easily induce pain to slow him down.
Hi Ben The FS-14 is the standard unit. This is not the longer version. The GEN 2 model allows for the shortened carry length. The longer model will be available after the first of the year when things calm down a bit from the holiday. I will also be working on some additional new models beyond the GEN 2 and longer units. More good stuff to come in the next several months.

there is one drawback with this defense tool the whip is not too big in length if u r too close to the attacker and he grab holds of it then you are in trouble.
abbeydudeuk it's a pain weapon. It's not debilitating at all. A full grown male with their adrenaline going is gonna go straight through that. Even if you get him in the face or groin. The end of it needs to be way heavier or have a blade or something on it. And even then someone can do a lot of damage before they bleed out.
If you're gonna puss out, then actually puss out and get some mace or something and run off.
Isn’t it better than nothing? It’s really depends on person using it. By having this you clearly have advantage of longer reach, attacks long range. Plus this is the self defense tools not attacking tool, so escalate the situation quickly and get outta there is the best way.

Any cheap Hard Wire Bicycle Cable Lock has the same effect, you can carry it around all day long ultra concealed on a bike, backpack, etc. without looking like a weirdo.
I own two Fast Strike Whips, and they have their place. I recently picked up the Stinger Tactical Whip which is just like the Fast Strike but with thicker cable. Fast Strike would piss someone off, but would be excellent to use on an obnoxious, entitled woman (with her cell phone in one hand, and waving finger of other hand) who is blocking your car at a gas station. The Stinger Tactical Whip, however, should used for a real self defense situation, or if faced with an Antifa or BLM member.
When walking up to a voting booth either whip would be good to have in hand, especially when walking back to your car.
I practice eskrima so for me the Fast Strike would work well with Espada Y Daga. Strike as shown in this video using Fast Strike in right hand, then with a blade in the left hand held in the rear lunge forward to thrust with the blade. Fast Strike stuns attacker long enough for a final blow with your dagger. When finished run like hell, lol.

Yes the gen 2 can be carried like the original. If you dont plan on carrying this in the coiled fashion you could increase the tension a little to get a little faster reaction.

Is there any difference between gen 1 and gen 2 besides the length?
Hello, there is no length difference between the GEN 1 and the GEN 2 they are both 17" in total length. The only difference is the original tensioned state. The GEN 1 was tensioned slightly stiffer. We loosed the tension on the GEN 2 just slightly to allow the cable to bend to the handle.

This whip has the capability to break car windows from the inside and out, but you do need to hit the window correctly with the striking portion. However, there is no guarantee that it will break the windows.

I doubt you'd be able to get it into the country. If you did, you can't(legally) carry it because it will be considered an offensive weapon.

No doubt this would hurt a lot, however this would not stop someone, this would just make them mad, a stun gun at least impaires someone, pepper spray too, just buy a gun. And if you want non lethal then use rubber bullets.
Sorry sir, but you are incorrect. We have multiple customer reviews detailing how this product easily deterred their attackers. This product will lacerate skin and break fingers, so yes that'll definitely piss someone off while also stopping their attack. We suggest you purchase the product and use it in real life before you try to give a meaningless review. This product gives you distance and inflicts a serious amount of pain. With a stun gun you essentially have to be hugging your attacker in order for it to effectively work. Pepper spray is great until the canister is dead or the wind in blowing in the wrong direction and blows the spray back in your face and incapacitates you. A gun is great but there are tons of legalities behind one and also they are uncomfortable to carry and hard to conceal with certain types of clothes. The Fast Strike weighs 3 oz and is 17 inches long so it gives you distance between you and your attacker while still allowing you to effectively strike. It coils up into the handle making for very easy concealment, and most of all this product doesn't take any special training or techniques to use effectively.

Rogue sheep anything like this is ILLEGAL in the UK.....daft I know....but only things you can legally carry on you for "protection" in Britain are personal alarm, strobe torch (to dazzle attacker after dark), &/or Farb Gel non toxic Criminal Identifier spray, that foams up in attackers face to give you chance to run, plus sprays them bright red with dye that wont wash off, & takes several days to fade away.

Hello, we do not sell the GEN 1 anymore. However, the GEN 2 can easily be made into the GEN 1 by tensioning the cable a little tighter and not storing it coiled up in the handle.
But overall it's kind of a joke. It's a pain submission weapon. You're deterring attack by causing pain. Which isn't always the best way to go. A full grown 200lb man with adrenaline going is gonna go straight through that even if you connect with his groin or face. You can see you the guy doesn't even drop when she hits him with it. If you get lucky and it wraps their cheek and hits them right in the base of the skull, THEN and only then is it a good self defense weapon.

A collapsible (solid) baton, actually has the capacity to potentially set someone down if you practice striking with it.
Combine anything decent with a blinding tactical flashlight and it is a formidable non lethal defense... Fenix 1600 lumen Flashlight and Fox 5.3 for some situations, Fenix 1600 lumen Flashlight and my home made wire whip for others. My whip isn't as conservative as the fast strike. I've thought about getting a fast strike for the handle alone and integrating a another 30" chunk 5/16th cable. Careful not to hit yourself...

Nah mate I feel a lot more obligated to buy this thing after seeing what it can do. I knew it hurts but I didn’t know it could do that! Consider mine ordered!
I retract the statements I made yesterday that the Fast Strike is ineffective and nothing more than a child’s toy. Here’s why:
I work nights so after getting my Fast Strike in the mail yesterday afternoon I tested it in my leg while wearing denim jeans, however, the jeans were pressed up against the skin to feel more of an impact. I did not fully test this whip against other parts of my body, nor did I test it against bare skin.
When I tested it, even with a moderate to hard Strike it stung pretty bad, but nothing impressive, and definitely nothing that would stop a determined attacker.
I just got home from work this morning and gave the Fast Strike a more comprehensive test. I hit my thighs and calves again without my pants on, lol. I also tapped my face, cheek and head with it just until it hurt.
On the bare skin of my legs and calves it gave me and excruciating pain when only applying a moderate strike. The strikes to my face were mild Taos and I felt the sharp pain, especially on my head.
After the test strikes I will not be doing a video of my wife performing a belly Strike on my because it’s gonna really hurt! I am now convinced that this Fast Strike is a very effective self defense tool when used properly.
My advice is to target body parts with bare skin or a thin tee shirt. Also Strike joints and skin areas that cover boney parts. Hit fists, elbows, forearms, knees, thighs and calves if attacker is wearing short pants. Head face and neck are you money shots if you get closer than forearm and hand targets.
I practiced Eskrima for about 3 years, but that was a while ago. However, I was used to getting hit with sticks especially during competitions and sparring matches. We used the base of the sticks called the punio to strike face, ribs, head and knees. We had padding to prevent broken bones but the strikes still caused pain, bruises and hematoma. The punio of the grip handle on these Fast Strikes would be ideal to use as a striking area. Just use a hammer fist striking motion. Use this if your attacker gets in too close to whip him wit the shaft of this weapon. Use it to hit the groin, eyeballs, teeth and head. Clothing wouldn’t protect against these punio strikes either.
I still think the owner shown in his videos looks and talks like Uncle Rico from Napoleon Dynamite, especially the scenes when he was trying to sell Tupperware.
Fast Strike need to make one with a DNA catcher on the tip.
Already made that version at the request of a friend of mine in the military. It is really cool but not something I would offer to the public.

Haha if you're looking to only spend $5 on a self-defense product you won't be finding anything of quality.
Any tool that takes two hands to put it into action is no good. Theres potential with this tool for sure, but you cant use both hands to make it work. You need a pull away release feature for this. Send me a message.
If you don't want to deploy it with two hands, you have the option to carry it fully extended. I have to say though, a gun uses two hands. Would you say it is a useless weapon? Even when two hands are needed to open the Fast Strike, it is still a very quick deployment.
@@FastStrikeDefense No thats incorrect. A handgun can and is deployed with one hand. Your tool must be deployed from a concealed point and it takes two hands to do so. I never said it was worthless, im trying to make it better. Speed is a huge factor. People also have the tendency to look at the tool when they need two hands. Now your taking your focus off the threat. Ive seen it threaded through belt loops. Way to much snag potential.
