    Tell you what pal. From a guy who’s got his own little firm himself. You come across hard working straight talking and you know your stuff. I have literally never commented on a single video or a strangers page before in my life. But after watching what you do and how you conduct your craft. I couldnt help but let you know It’s a nice change to see someone doing a brilliant job and to such a high standard. Cracking channel cracking walk throughs, well done mate I’m genuinely pleased for you I like seeing people do well who deserve it. Keep it up.

    You must be the only person to give away so much information, it’s a credit to you for sharing, I’m not a builder but in the past I’ve asked builders for help in doing certain things, but they were very cagey to say, as if I was going to take their business away. So well done to you for being honest and giving this information cheers

    I can only see you getting more work from your honest straight forward approach. I can’t think of any other builder who would be this transparent. Taking your time to explain everything like this will of course help people who want to build their own, but they would have probably gone down this route anyway, not everyone is capable of this or wants to so can only see you getting flooded with requests from these people which is absolutely deserved. You are one of the fastest growing channels I’ve seen so ignore the keyboard warriors, your massive success will shut them up soon enough mate. Cheers again

    Top video, as always. Thanks for sharing all your knowledge.
    Rest assured your downlights ARE fire rated. The protection comes from the little ring that sits between the fitting and the ceiling. In the event of a fire, this expands to stop smoke from going up into the ceiling void. Most people don't realise this is what the 'fire rated' part of the fitting is. They see that it doesn't have a can and assume it's not fire rated.
    Keep up the good work, and I look forward to entering the raffle for the pod! 👍

    I built a 5x3 shed last year without the benefit of your instruction. So now I’m watching these saying: “Oh. Should have done that.” “Oh. That’s how it’s done”. “Oh. You straighten the walls with string before you nail them down”. That shed’s a bit wonky, but the garden office won’t be. Fantastic videos, thank you so much for your time. (I know you now outsource, but a doors and windows video would be very helpful).

    If the hole is 600mm deep and your plate is 100mm to 150mm up from bottom all the pressure weight is pushing Down on just 150mm of concrete. The plate will sepetate the concrete above and below possibly a point for seperation. Think I'd put another plate say 100mm down from the top for more even weight distribution through the full depth of concrete filled hole. The top plate would have 400mm 500mm below it. Think your jobs are top notch though. Great insight thanks.

    • @thegardenroomguru
      @thegardenroomguru  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The hole is bottomed our, there is no where for the concrete to go. Your pushing down on the earth 🌍 plate can’t go anywhere

    • @johno-gb7ci
      @johno-gb7ci 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@thegardenroomguru even weight distribution is better. different ground has different density. Using the full depth of your hole is better than pushing down on the last 100mm I know the concrete above the plate is attached to the concrete below. the plate will act as a seperation point (weak point) a plate at bottom and top would make it twice as strong 😎😎
