I wanted to do this one since you put the video out (I lived far away from Scotland then). Finally did it today, an oh man, the tech at the top!... Will defo be back to try and get more of the top bit slightly better. The bottom (from the staircase down) may be a great winter ride, just to get moving and utilise the few hours of daylight, a bit like the Cobbler path. And man, you made it look waaaay easier, than it really is...
Your riding hides how hard this is , first two top sections put me off , to much for me I would probably walk , the sections after are perfect . Great video , keep it up 👍🏻
Absolute classic McTrail rider. You do this stuff so well. The drone works so well at actually showing the gradient as all these hills look pretty flat on GoPro. It was cool to hear about some of your nerves as well. You seem uber-confident all the time so it was good the see that you have to overcome difficulties as well! Great vid bud.
I can’t believe how flat the top looked in turn GoPro 😤 But yeah, the drone fists covers that. I do get nervous on the bike at times, but usually I just opt out of doing things I’m not comfortable on.
Have you tried the Cobbler from the Summit yet? That's a cracking run! You forget how fantastic Scotland looks, I think the inclement only adds to it's beauty.
I can assure ye it looked pretty steep even on TH-cam. Looked like a mega technical descent. Glad the brakes are working out for you - ye need pretty good ones on a mountain like that!
Really enjoyed this one 👌, Loch Earn is one of my favourite spots in Scotland. Walked Ben Vorlich including Stuc a chroin together, tough day. You made the descent of the top section look relatively easy, nice to see you get back on the hills. Drone footage came out really well, looking forward to the next one. 👍 cheers.
Fair play man, fair play! Once again the GoPro is flattening everything but oh boy I can definitely confirm that Ben Vorlich is rather steep near the top! I tend to go and first hike whichever hill I intend to ride later so I can assess, and this one, well... climbed it last summer and definitely made a few notes for myself there, hahaha! (And yes I think it's Crieff you could see from up there, Comrie is smaller I'd think and was probably hiding behind the smaller hills right in front of you.)
absolutely fantastic video Andrew - great to see you back out in the hills - mega trek to the top but the descent captured on the GoPro and drone was stunning. Big skills on the trails mate, great video
Just lucky you were not on his cross bar Dave ,, I think the POV view and juddering would have made your teeth fall out and your boxers fill up with some unwelcome waste (keeping it clean for TH-cam readers lol ). But I agree quality was outstanding
Amazing day. Was that Monday just this week ? Ie 14th FEB, I knew it was dry and bright but wow the footage was fantastic, scary shit at the top , chest camera didn’t show true gradient until the drone footage capture the steep decent you were actually floating downward as if it was a blue trail. Haha. , that trail looked harder than the top part of a Ben Lomond in my opinion, rewarding indeed. Fantastic capture of our beautiful homeland scenery, you should get an awards for Scotland tourism , thanks again for sharing your day with the world mate. :)
Ben Vorlich was the first munro I did. You inspired me to try one. I read up for easier munro's to climb and Ben Vorlich was one that constantly appeared. However, that was walking it 😂
Thoughts on riding this trail with an e-bike? Too much hike-a-bike? Coming from Canada for a ride, scenic adventure before my old knees completely give out! lol.
@@McTrailRider thank you for the prompt reply. This is great to know. I guess I will have to rent a couple different bikes😁 looking forward to more of your videos.
Another superb episode. The light from 9min11sec is stunning. Please can you let me know what pressures and what tyres you're running on that rough stuff? Thanks again Andrew.
That was a cracking video Pal!! Amazing views and the mix of Drone/GoPro footage looked great!!!!!!!!!!What bag is that with a Go-Pro chesty mount built in??????
Planning on getting some Scotland rider in this year (first time) would be good to ride with ya, ill bring some patreons maybe. Ya channels blown up, nice one mate.
Currently watching all your videos again trying to find a good Munro to ride and have realised this is a little to techie at the top for me if it was challenging you at times. What would you recommend for my first Munro I currently ride the lakes like Skiddaw and helvelyn etc and the usual golfie etc. hope you can help. Love your stuff 👍🏻💪🏻
This is a great and fairly easy one to do th-cam.com/video/pr56P4wTXB0/w-d-xo.html This one is also very good, and a bit tougher th-cam.com/video/JpO7wzo6miw/w-d-xo.html
Can't believe this is meant to be one of the easier Munros! Top section is pretty full on and you did well on the bit just up from the steps - that just didnt compute for me! 😂
Thank you Andrew...that was beautiful!! Were you alone ? I wonder , do you tell someone where you are going , or have a Gamin InReach device It looks remote , thats why I ask ...Peace
Always enjoy watching your big mountain rides. I've said it before but these are the kind of videos that make me want to get out and ride 👍🏻
That’s the effect I’m going for 👍

Thanks for watching Robert

Thank you

Always good to hear from someone that’s actually been, it’s definitely tough up top.
Beautiful views man, fantastic upload.

It was pretty special
Great footage with the drone nice one.

Mad skills!

brilliant video

I have, but it was 2016 and I didn’t do TH-cam back then. I keep meaning to get it done, but end up doing the alternatives from that climb.
Gotta love the Mountains ⛰👍
Absolutely!!
Brilliant, made it look easy as always, good to see you back in the hills again ❤️🏴
Thanks buddy, it was very good to get back to what I love 👍
Great job nice to get back in the big hills wetting my appetite for some adventure
Defo Scotland this year
Roll on spring 👍
Cheers for that mate, Ben Vorlich was the first mountain i climbed 40 years ago with the school CCF, stayed near Comrie at an old POW camp.
Ah nice, I bet the lower path is quite different to when you climbed it.
@@McTrailRider yeah was just a rough track back then
Nice. I've been up there in winter and I couldn't see a thing! Love your drone shots Andrew.
Frustrating when you don’t get the view you deserve 😤
Great vid mate. Look forward to the vitus review next week!
Good stuff, it’s very good btw.
@@McTrailRider I dig vitus so much. Used to be known a cheap brand but now it punches as hard as the big brands. A real giant killer brand 💪
I can assure ye it looked pretty steep even on TH-cam. Looked like a mega technical descent. Glad the brakes are working out for you - ye need pretty good ones on a mountain like that!
Thanks dude, the brakes working well is definitely a bonus 😜

It’s a stunning area for sure, and yes, the top is steep😬
Another great spot for riding by the looks of it and you made it look easy and the drone shots look mint 👍
Thanks Chris

The steepness at the top did catch me off guard tbh. Crieff makes sense for the reasons you mentioned.
Good video mate.. I need to get up there this year..
You do 👍
Nice one, It's tougher than it looks. Right time of year and right time of day. Its normally a busy hill making your line choice a bit limited. 💪👍
I definitely lucked out on the weather and time of year for this one.
Another stunning looking ride, great work 👍🏻
Thanks Kevin

What a great video. Sounded like you enjoyed it. Drone footage is awesome.
Loved it mate!
Loved it, great riding video, awesome scenery as usual.
Thanks Mike
Sitting here watching as usual on my big screen tv and as ever stunning quality and views like im sitting on the crossbar 👌👌👌👌
The big screen is the best way to watch 👍😬

i found the mix of drone views and chest mount really stunnin ! great ride man !
Thanks dude, always difficult to find the balance between the two shots.
Fair play for pushing the bike up Ben Vorlich, that's a big old climb up!
I’ve done bigger, but that final climb was quite a slog 😳
@@McTrailRider The drones great btw, shows the terrain so much better than a go pro ever could
@@alaninman4474 probably the best investment I’ve made video wise 👌
Great video, looks like you had an awesome day 👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks Adam
Epic views 🏔
The weather helped 👍
Looks great as ever. Long time since I was last up there!
Thanks Kyle
Excellent vid mate, keep up the good work. That drone is something else. 🤟

This was filmed in mid January.
I’d agree that the top is harder to ride than the top of Ben Lomond, it’s looser and more consistently steep.
Loved this! Stoked for ya on that ride 🤘🏼
Thanks buddy
Class vid bro. Amazing ridin mate. Beautiful views n ur allowed a Dab or 2 😂 or a quick rest. Luv it lad 👏 🚴 👊
Thanks for the forgiveness 😜

@@McTrailRider I only crashed twice ha ha ha ha.
Definitely looked like a good ride,Andrew! Nice to see Alix make a cameo in your vid! lol
Just thought I’d put her in the video so that people knew she is still alive 😜

This one is too steep for an ebike I’m afraid.
The Cairngorms would be my recommendation for ebikeable mountains 👍

Always enjoy your videos pal . Can i ask if you rate the krieger 18 backpack. Like you i ride with a drone and like to keep that dry .
It’s a very good pack that’s very much built to last, and I find very comfortable.
It is a bit on the heavy side and not mtb specific though.
Can't believe this is meant to be one of the easier Munros! Top section is pretty full on and you did well on the bit just up from the steps - that just didnt compute for me! 😂
Yeah, I’d say the top section is one of the hardest I’ve done, which I wasn’t expecting in all honesty.
Really enjoy your vids fella. QQ - How are you getting on with the NP Jacket - Recommend it?
It’s ok if there is a chance of light showers, but I wouldn’t put it on if it was already raining as it’s just not waterproof enough.
@@McTrailRider Good to know cheers fella!
You should try living in Leeds and having to travel 😂😂
Fair point mate
"This is pretty straight forward as far as mountain descents go"... proceeds to do trials tricks on ice and rock fragments :-)
Haha, there are tougher out there
@@McTrailRider Yeah I Know, and I've seen you riding down some of them... still a funny reminder of how your straightforward is my extreme

It’s flying itself, fully autonomous 🤘
