I think everyone should own a betta at some stage! They are such cool fish! There aren't too many other fish out there with such personalities. Great guide to keeping them!
Hi again Ellie. I am thinking of putting one in a 75 gallon, heavily planted and community style with 3 Angels and numerous tetras and ottocinclus. Do you see any issues.? The other option is a heavily planted 10 gallon with chili rasboras and shrimp and ottocinclus. Which scenario do you think might favour the betta. Great video presentation as always. Ken.
Hi Ken, thank you 🙂 I would definitely not put a Betta with Angels as they will constantly bully him and nip at his fins when they are bigger than him. It will end badly. 10 gallon with a few chilis, shrimp and ottos should be perfect. As long as the shrimp will be able to hide from him.
@@ellies_exotics that was kind of what I was thinking.I will wait for a better opportunity when it’s safer for all creatures. When the angels expire would be a better time. Thanks for your input. 😀
Another informative video. My betta must not like me since he is always hiding. He only comes out when it’s feeding time. 😢. What live plants do you recommend for a betta? Thanks.
Thank you, Reggie! Is there something in the tank that spooks him? If not, some Bettas are just more shy than others. My oldest male also chills at the back of the tank all day until I approach with food, so it's not always a bad sign 😋 they love all soft plants, so any mosses, Subwassertang but also Anubias or ferns with large leaves. My tanks have Ferns, Buce, Anubias and Subwassertang in them.
Its so annoying when you enter a pet store and they sell these little tanks that aren’t big enough to house ants. If you are going to home any animal you should always make sure you have the space and the time to give them the best life possible. Beautiful channel ❤
I completely agree! It shouldn't even be for sale because there will always be people who don't know any better who will buy it. Thank you for the comment, I really appreciate it! ☺
Hi Troy, my lights are a Chinese brand Aquarium light. I can't remember what the name is but once I'm back at home I'll see if I still have one of the boxes in storage.
@@troywildlife I'm so sorry! I completely forgot to check the name when I got back! I will quickly check this afternoon if I still have a box lying around somewhere.
@@troywildlife hi Troy, unfortunately I don't have any of the boxes anymore, but when I go to that pet store again I will take a photo of the box for you. 🙂
My Betta tanks are all 50L. I wouldn't recommend keeping anything with a Betta in only 15L. I would personally not keep a Betta in anything less than 30L. In my 50L tanks, I normally keep 6-10 nano fish with a Betta.
Just bought a Siamese fighting fish in Midrand China Town, thanks for this video, really helpful

I agree! I absolutely love them!
Your tanks look beautiful and your advice is good. Thank you. You are a credit to the hobby.
I’d never considered betas and although I’m not rushing out yet… you have piqued my interest.
Good job 👍👍👍
Great to hear! Thank you for the comment, Mike! 😁

Hi Ellie I was just curious about the lighting you using on your rack system ? Do you mind sharing what you using ?

Thanks Ellie they seem to do well for you plants the brand name stuff is just pretty unfordable especially for multiple tanks

So how many chilis and/or galaxy’s you’re keeping with one Betta in 15L?

They have individual personalities. You get attached to them. I always say they are a little fish with Oscar attitude.
Definitely. It's very easy to fall in love with them!
