Don't go frame by frame! 😫 Just place a keyframe at the start and end of your clip, then adjust your mask in the middle. Then if needed, add another keyframe in the middles of those two halves so you're essentially halving the distance needed each time to keep the mask in place, making it more accurate. Going frame by frame is a huge waste of time! Start at both ends and work from the middles, then quarters, then eigths, then sixteenths etc.

You actually have to do frame by frame for some movies or so especially for fantasy, if you watched Space Jam, you would understand what I mean.
Space Jam movie used a lot of VFX effects, rotoscoping was used for some effects too.

Holding spacebar will give you the hand tool without having to toggle back and forth. Also, for this case, would using the rotobrush be a better option?

Just as a tip for the shortcuts: Hand tool, you can shortcut this by pressing the spacebar and moving the image around with your left mouse-button clicked!

Rotoscoping literally means frame by frame in which he is masking frame by frame. Which would be called, Rotoscoping.

Are you serious? If you are a beginner DO NOT WATCH THIS. First, it's not rotoscoping. Second, why use 2 keyboard commands for pulling up the hand then going back to the pen when you can just temporarily hold the space bar down. Third, and most important, YES keyframing frame by frame is insane, as he mentions in the video. This guy needs to learn how to use a tracker. Ever heard if tracking? Obviously, he never did.
