She was being interviewed by both English and Scottish newspapers before the Morgan show. There’s also another comedian (female this time) who has now come forward and said that she was allegedly stalked by the same person, as well as Sir Keir Starmer (the emails that were sent to him were shared with the Metropolitan Police in London); as well as a female Solicitor who has also spoken out about this person and said that (allegedly) she had had dealings with this same woman for 5 years.

Barrister is not British for. lawyer. A barrister is British term for a lawyer who speaks in front of the court and takes instructions from a solicitor. They are all lawyers. We don't use the word attorney in Britain.

A Barrister in South Africa is called an Advocate (a lawyer who is a member of the "Bar"). These lawyers have "Chambers" and receive briefs from Attorneys (Solicitors) to represent their clients in court.

Jessica Gunning is English,and as a Scot I must say she did an amazing job of a Scottish accent,however Fiona Harvey has a cross between a Scottish and fake English accent which sounds pretentious.
That's why I didn't believe she WAS Scottish, because she used the word "banter" instead of "patter" and her accent was off.
At one point she sounded Welsh to me. Weird.
Jessica Gunning is an English actress, she did an accent for the show. You can hear her native accent in her interviews. I loved her in the show "Back" where she plays basically the opposite of Martha - a super wholesome bartender lmao

Everyone is leaving out the fact that after each episode (within the credits) the show said : "This program is based on real events. however certain characters, names, incidents, locations and dialogue have been fictionalized for dramatic purposes" - So that fucking clears GAAD legally. I also don't think that Fiona Harvey is Martha. I think Martha is probably blonde and skinny. I think Fiona Harvey is psycho, she did visit the Hawley Arms a few times, had some exchanges with GAAD- he did use her weird personality quirks in his persona of Martha but she is not the stalker etc. Just think about it , often times a character in books and movies are actually a composite of different people. Maybe that happened here. Maybe the real stalker did all the things that Fiona Harvey didn't do but maybe a lot of the quirks like spelling errors and such were from Fiona Harvey.

There is a different system as a lawyer and a barrister are just on different tracks as it's not the same as America.
A paralegal is a paralegal, a lawyer/solicitor is a lawyer and a barrister is a barrister

I think the show would not have been as good without the details. And I think not mentioning her name was a reasonable measure. No matter what the effort they put in to hide her identity looking at Gadd’s Twitter profile would have been enough to figure out who it was based purely on the number of tweets she sent him. If you stalk someone online the trail is always going to be there.
Agree. Had Martha been an attractive, articulate woman the show would have not made sense. After hearing 30-40 of her short videos on Facebook, it’s obvious she has major problems.
Im glad to see Piers is hated globally! But this was the one time he gets a pass.
She also stalked Laura Wray and her parents that she worked and had Tobe fired for not behaving herself. When Morgan asked her she said this woman doesn't know the name of her own company. What a condsending woman!
She can’t even tell the truth when the truth would be in her favor. If you out yourself on a platform such as Pierce Morgan, you state that you are the person but yet you don’t even concede your obvious mistakes/actions that can be proven. So if she conceded her being in a bad headspace back then and really feeling lost and realizing since then that her obsessive clinging onto him and going from honest feelings to overwhelming impulsive connection to going too far. If she admitted to her faults and openly apologized for what she had done , it would have created a wave of sympathy and positive ( and negative too ) reactions for her open approach , apologies and her acceptance for her bad behavior and wanting to never return to that headspace but live healthier and be a better person.
I hope she can get the help she needs to get to a place where that is possible. I’m not betting on it though.

I believe she also stalked Laura Wray who owned a lawyers practice and her husband. She also began pestering a journalist after he interviewed her for a newspaper.
Netflix changed the CHARACTER by giving her a criminal background and a conviction at the end.
Harvey complains that Netflix did very little to disguise her.
Harvey is suing Netflix for not portraying her 100% honestly.
