I have felt the hidden secret this man posses in midst of his heart while sitting behind this screen. Truly, truth has no language, no shape, no form, it neither depends on anything but its creator nor it ever changes itself because of anyone. Such a true inheritor of our Prophet Muhammad SAW. as he mentioned in one of His traditions:
"Indeed Ulema are inheritors of the prophets"

I am really very sad to see this great wise scholar can not spread his knowledge and experience like somebody's in music and football !!! we're really in an age of misery !!! All we can do is to seek rahma and forgiveness from Allah the merciful. and may Allah the Almighty reward shayhk Nakib Al-Attas and shayhk Hamza yusuf Jannat Al-firdaws.

Islam is the most misunderstood religion in the world, why? because it is intellectually demanding. If you want the basics then start by reading this man's books the first of which is entitled " Prolegomena to the Metaphysics of Islam". I must warn you, it will be intellectually demanding and I recommend that you read it several times before you can start to understand the basics.

But if we hide core aspects of Islam while preaching it, that's going to be detrimental to Iman. Because the Iman that the person will be building up won't be based upon the whole truth, right?
Isn't it more dangerous for their Iman if they later find out what Islam says but they weren't aware of it, and in fact what they believe then about Islam might be contradictory to what was hidden?

dude i think you've confused things up a little bit, learning a mazhab means learning sharia ,so its a must for everyone to tidy up your religious actions. the people or the scholars you are mentioning deal with hikmah which is for the ones who seek for, and hikmah is not as vital as shariah because without shariah hikmah means nothing more than words, salah for five times a day is a must for everyone and you start it immediately you become muslim or mukellaf about commandmants first things first

Knowledge is infinite in its nature. Prof syed naquib al attas was saying that to have wisdom is to place knowledge at its proper place. Blameworthy knowledge when it is place in its proper place is justice same goes to praiseworthy knowledge. For an example, knowledge on nuclear energy; If it’s placed wrongly in its proper place, it will be a destruction for humanity hence injustice would occur. If we don’t know the ‘tool’ to place things at its proper place, injustices would happen and it will cause destruction for ourselves and the world.
