In Malaysia, politicians frequently try to tackle a variety of issues in which they lack competence because they think they could be helpful. They then offer aid based on what will support their political position rather than dealing with the problems that arise. They avoid getting help from people who are more knowledgeable than they are because they think they are better at defending their own political agenda than dealing with the underlying issues.

If they choose not to join politics, we actually need them and well respected Malaysians/Academicians to work cohesively and 'guide' Malaysians to the 'right path'. They should initiate public debates on important issues like the issues he talked about here. I am sure they can convince the current government if they do the necessary preparatory work and showed sincerity in wanting to help out the government. We wish they are more influential in educating Malaysians on important issues. What happened to the group of 70 Malay professors?

Shirk is the highest form of Sin. Islam teaches that God does not share his divine attributes with anyone or any forms. Associating other forms or believe in their heart is disallowed according to the principles of Tawhid.

However correct he is, he is not providing the solution. It's a political problem, so it needs a political solution. He can only help if he is involved politically, not speaking as an academician which never solved any problem (in our Malaysian context). If academicians had done their part to prevent the problem from taking such deep roots, I imagine they would be well respected and Malaysia would have done much better.

Humans have talked too much about race, religion and Royalty until there are fights, chaos and murder. Look at what is happening in the other country. When they talk about race and religion, they exaggerate. War happens because people are excessive in issues of race and religion. In the matter of excessive religion, it creates elements of takfiri and ghuluw and that is what causes Islamophobia in this world. Islam especially teaches simplicity and simplicity is what human need and simplicity is what we want to practice in this country That does not mean that race and religion are ignored .
People of multiple races and religions should not be excessively dragged into issues of race, religion or royalty because that interferes with the progress and prosperity of the country.

He totally missed the point of Fahmi. Then he moan how they rejected his offer to help. After a minute into his lecture i notice this is not an unbiased scolding. Then someone recommend Kucing Tanah and then i watched it....

Well said. Unfortunately, we have allowed the politicians to hijack the national agenda for their own benefit. We have gone so far down the wrong path, it seems impossible to correct. We need more sessions like this, probably in BM for better national reach. Btw, I enjoyed the cycling sessions we used to have around the neighbourhood decades ago. Regards to your brother, Haider, who used to join us too. Take care, Ali
