This is the most precise and easy to understand about playing "Girl from Ipanema" Bravo. You defined the co-relation between each melody behind each chord. Your intuition in music are instinct and inborn qualities. Not everyone can teach that way.
Hi Felipe! Just worked this out by ear a couple of weeks ago and thought I’d have a look on TH-cam to see other versions for added info. Yours was the most informative by far. Thank you. I learned a lot from your explanation and performance. All the best from Bonnie Scotland!
Thank you so much!!! An "OLD" classical guitarist here. I have never seen this tune explained and taught so well. I will certainly take this away and play . Many thanks.
Parabens Felipe!!!! How I wish I understood the fretboard and chord voicings like you do; great stuff. I had a teacher in grad school named Coelho. What are the 2 extra strings on your guitar? Are the 6 in the middle the same as a "regular" guitar?
When teaching chord voicings especially on an eight string guitar a diagram is called for. It would be helpful and that's the objective of this lesson, to be helpful. Otherwise great tutorial.
Waaaaaay too much chatter. Just shut and play with accompanying chord diagrams, for Christ's sake! Period. This is what guitar players express that want time and time again. Not looking for a degree in theory or chord chemistry.
Felipe, thank you so much for this incredibly detailed and useful lesson on this great song! I have watched many, but yours truly stands out! PS if you'd like, you might want to pin my earlier comment with time codes for other guitarists to use

A marca é Luthier Wellington Polegario.
merci beaucoup !
He Felipe, thank you a lot for that. I would really love to be able to buy the tab, could I do that please somehow ?
Muito obrigado,
Jacques.

Thank you so much! Most videos I've seen only played the english part, and it's a pity because the brazilian part is so beautiful
excellent1
Good tutorial, I wish there had been more explanation of fingers positioning at 16:28 to 17:05 minute mark at the 7th and 8th positions.

O mundo sorrindo se enche de graça
E fica mais lindo por causa do amor

What are the 2 extra strings on your guitar? Are the 6 in the middle the same as a "regular" guitar?
Ha thats cool! Thanks for watching!
It's "only" one extra string, probably a low B.
@@MarcellinusVD Yes, now I see the 3 and 4 arrangement on the headstock.
B Section starts at 10:33
Great lesson of a complex song although I find the extra bass string a little off putting…..👍🍷
Honestly took me a couple of minutes noticing it, threw me off quite a bit 😀
It would help if there is a "chord chart". Cant really see where you place all your fingers

7. But you are right. But it takes too much work.
it helps (almost a necessity) to know more theory than he does to understand this. :)
Well, the theory info is just a bonus. Being able to see where the fingers are and hear the notes should be enough
why does his guitar have 7 strings?
It’s super common for Brazilian music, especially Choro, to use 7 strings guitar and not have a bass player. Lowest string covers that range.
cant understand at all
tell me only cord
