[Collection of Mana] Trials of Mana: Black Rabite hidden boss battle!

- For those of you who are familiar with the fanslation (fan-made translation) of Seiken Densetsu 3, this hidden boss needs no introduction.
For the uninitiated, however, the Black Rabite is a super-powerful hidden boss monster hidden within the enemy stronghold on Duran and Angela's path, Dragonsmaw. (Formerly known as "Dragon's Hole" in the fanslation.)
What some folks may not be aware of is that anyone foolish enough to go in, all guns blazing, will be met with a horrible fate, as the Black Rabite will not hesitate to counter any lv.2/lv.3 techs and/or offensive spells with techs and spells of its own. And if you're especially unlucky, it may just decide to summon a lv.99 Demon.
As long as you stick to regular attacks, lv.1 techs and friendly (ally targetting) spells, you should be able to manage your way through the battle just fine. However, there are a few instances where the Black Rabite WILL use spells and/or techs:
1) At the very start of battle, Black Rabite will cast Dark Force against your entire party.
2) After losing a certain amount of health, Black Rabite will use the following techs and spells, in order: Psychic Blast, Flash, Black Rain (self), Evil Gate (self), Dark Force (self), and either Southern Slash, Barrage Sting or Moon Spiral.
3) After losing a good deal more of its health, it will cast Ancient Curse on your entire party.
There's a small chance that Black Rabite will drop the Moogle Pin upon defeat.
Wtf!! He's spamming hell cross and moon spiral, healing himself and turning the party into moogles. This guy is insane! I beat it in the remake, but it was super hard!
This thing is an Isekai protag. I am convinced. It is way too intelligent, casting magic that it absorbs to heal itself. That's shit Kumoko would do.
this fight is sure going to be something in the 3d remake thats for sure.
I can only hope it doesn't turn out to be _even more chaotic_ than it already is!
@@ShiitakeWarrior personally I just hope the other two paths get their own hidden bossess as well.
@@MrMariosonicman _Dude, you have read my mind!_
Truth be told, I was a little disappointed that this wasn't already the case in the original release of this game.
That's something I've been wondering myself because when it came to this game it suffered the problem where in most battles it became a war of out spamming techs and spells against some of the bosses. I hope they balance it out in the remake.
@@Saltybeef90210 I hope they do something about the pausing when casting spells. I guess it's part of it's early jrpg charms but it's 2020 and it needs to be updated badly. Hopefully the menus don't take forever to load too
Black Rabite be like: YOU DARE OPPOSE ME MORTALS
Black Rabite makes other Rabites look like harmless fluff balls.
_Wait..._
Three brave warriors defeat the Black Rabite.
FINAL BOSS: [shocked Pikachu face]
The Dragon Emperor doesn't stand a chance.
i love how the black rabite introduces itself, i hope they did something flashy for the remake.
Oh you got that right. He did
U.u you defeated Black Rabite the way It uses all of Its arsenal xD
Geez that bunny slipper is getting messed up.
Suddenly, I have this picture in my mind of people wearing (dead) Rabites on their feet.
snes version much harder. was disappointed at the remake's HP bar widdling down so fast. came back to play the old version and was not disappointed. there seems to be 3 different battle scripts, i think it depends on your 3rd choice of character. the hardest is when it spams this one attack that has these green rings. it'll do it twice and kill you if you aren't full HP.
(one yr later I know)
If you boot up a NG+ there's two new difficulties. The "No Future" difficulty sounds like a min-max your team kind of run.
I’m not looking forward to fighting this boss.
This is why I use Kevin on all teams this fight took to long lmao
what is your zsnes version ?
*FYI:* This was _not_ played through an emulator.
If you look at the title, you'll see that this version of the game is from *Collection of Mana,* which is exclusive to Nintendo Switch.
Does anyone knows if they fixd the shield bugs in this version?
I’m not sure. I do believe there are still aspects of them that work just not evasion and elemental resistances
i just beated the crap out of him on the remake lol, but im lvl99 so idk if that counts xD
Haven't tried black rabite yet. Just beat Anise on lv 73. Will look myself how he looks in hard difficulty
Sure it counts. You did the grinding. Personally Just did it at level 75. wasn't easy.
