    By far the most helpful and pleasant narration CAD video I've watched to date. And I've watched plenty. Thank you very much Jeremy!

    Jeremy,
    The video is thorougly explained step by step. One of the complex tutorial which you explained in a very simple language.

    True, although if you start with the first videos and go through in order then this was already covered in an earlier video. But I know many people don't watch them in order, so you are correct

    Double-check the size of the titleblock matches the paper you want to use and is being inserted at true (1:1) size. Verify the units and scale of the drawing in modelspace are set the way you want. Verify the scale factor being applied when you choose 1:100 for the viewport is correct (choose edit scales from the scale fly-out). It can really only be one or more of those things.

    Glad the videos are helping! If I understand your question correctly, you want to download and save the videos from youtube? Sorry, that is not typically allowed by TH-cam.

    This video is wonderful and thorougly explained. Thanks. I am veteran in CAD drawings using model space but relatively a beginner in Xref and paper space drawings. Using an existing dwg to practice i deleted everything except columns and save as "column drawing" but when i insert as xref into the ex. dwg. it does'nt go in the right place. When i zoomed extent my 'column drawing" is in the bottom left of the screen. Please help me out..thank you.

  • @jeremytf77
    @jeremytf77  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    It sounds like you XREF'd the column drawing in to 0,0 location. That is fine, but only if the location of the columns in their original drawing is where they need to be relative to 0,0. If they are too far from 0,0, then they won't show up where you want in the host drawing. So you have two choices - you can either move the columns in their original file, or move the XREF in the host file.

    I love your videos...has helped me immensely with my Thesis project. I have had to relearn AutoCAD and am having much success do to your videos...so thank you. I am writing in regards to Viewports. I thought I had that all down, but for some reason when I open a new layout (which automatically put a viewport in) or when I create a new viewport in a layout it will not let me select the viewport in order to resize. I am able to still double click viewport to manipulate scale and the view of drawing I want shown I am just not able to resize the viewport already put in layout or if I make my own viewport I still can't click on to resize. I figure its a setting somewhere...can't seem t find it. Please help..Thx

    how do u modify a existing rectangle viewport to a "L" shape viewport?

  • @alexabadjon4091

    is there any video on youtube with flor plan that has text, hatch, dimensions, an is being prepard for ploting.

    • @jeremyfranklin2631
      @jeremyfranklin2631 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      alexa bleja Maybe. I don't know every video available to you. Or put the pieces together -- learn how to do the text, hatch, dims, and viewports by watching separate videos. You shouldn't miss any content by doing this. Or if something isn't working right, then try a more specific question.

    How do you make round View Ports?

    • @jeremytf77
      @jeremytf77  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Use the polyline command for 2 arcing segments that make a circular form, closing it in the process. Use the "MV" command to make the viewport with the 'object' option to pick the viewport.

    • @jeremytf77
      @jeremytf77  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      jeremytf77 sorry, I mean pick the polyline.

    Helo! My Model is not shown in layout.. I have tried all steps regarding sheet size, Creat newport and zooming etc no option is working in it..Plz do help me how I go through with this problem

    • @jeremytf77
      @jeremytf77  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      You're missing something but it's hard to tell what without having your file. Make sure you're working through the viewport (model mode), make sure the viewport is unlocked, then zoom extents. This will absolutely show the drawing/model in the viewport. But if you have tiny objects spaced extremely far way, it may not be readily visible.

    bad because you didnt explain how to use zoom command. what if your model is so small that when you use viewport you cant see the object? you didnt explain anything.

    • @jeremyfranklin2631
      @jeremyfranklin2631 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +ruffneck168 Zoom command, including zoom extents, is already covered in a different video. Zooming and panning within the viewport is covered during the 13th minute of this video.

    • @ruffneck168

      I was looking for zoom xp help =/ figured it out ont eh autocad forum

    • @jeremyfranklin2631
      @jeremyfranklin2631 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +ruffneck168 I didn't cover that command because it is nearly obsolete. Typical scales are already available from the pulldown. For other scales, I would recommend making a custom scale for the pulldown in lieu of using the old command. That allows you to use it for annotation too.

      unfortunately, the school im in is teaching that way. they wanted us to create a plan/profile based on the cl and data provided. then block the finished profile and scale the y axis. the cad template given already had defpoint boundary given on where the profile/plans we were creating should be in. on the titleblock one viewport was already given of the plan view. we needed to match the scaled profile with the plan in the viewport. the command we were taught is to use zoom xp and click the box from one side to the other.
