    The more I film the more I focus on the project and less on speaking to the camera. If I didn't explain something great or you see something I missed, feel free to let me know in the comments! Thanks for watching!

    I've been riding the same R100 for thirty years. I'm too old and weak now to compress the spring and turn the nut at the same time. However, I came up with a solution. I used a four-foot bar clamp lashed to the fork, a socket and socket wrench to compress the spring to the bottom, and then used the wrench in the usual way. Caught the threads with no real physical exertion. I ground off the first 1/4" off the face of the socket to get rid of the chamfer, and then cut a small piece of plywood to fit into the socket to hold the nut head flush to the face of the socket. Then, when compressed, I could see the nut was square to the tube and threading was easy.

      Great tip! I'll try it next time I disassemble the forks, thanks for sharing.

    excellent video! I bought an upgraded top fork mount and will be installing it today. I came to your video to see what all is involved. Looks like I can undo the upper portion and lieave everything attached below. Since the wheel and bottom fork brace will still be attached, I dont think the forks will move on me.

      Oh yeah! The airhead has been priority lately but I'll get around to giving it the attention it needs soon.

      Why is there such a large gap between your headlight ears to the top triple? Mine rests on top of the rubber grommet.

    • @DispatchMoto
      @DispatchMoto  ปีที่แล้ว

      The guy I bought the headlight ears from failed to mention that they were modified to fit a thicker upper fork brace. I've replaced them with non cut ears for now until I purchase a thicker upper brace.

      Hey Max! I have a whole video, the one uploaded right before this one, showing how I removed the races DIY style and installed new ones. Gotta replace those races! Thanks for watching.

    Where did you get the springs?

    • @DispatchMoto
      @DispatchMoto  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey Jim! They're the springs I took out of the original forks. As far as I could tell, they're the factory springs.
