  • Kim and I were asked to re-upholster a couple of Victorian chairs that were used as part of a wedding ceremony. As I began preparing the Victorian Chairs for upholstering I found a lot of repairs that would have to be made. In this video Victorian Chair Repair I share with you the repairs I made and how I made them.

It is good to see someone who covers all of the surface area of both pieces with glue.

Fascinating. Friendly advice from the auto world? Try some painter's tape along the edges of the repair and wipe the epoxy before you remove it. Might save some finish repair down the road. We do it on cars all the time.

I work in soft goods for a theatre, so most of our furniture is repeatedly stripped and reupholstered. I don't know why I've never thought to use the sawdust/glue mixture to help with previous staples holes. So much cheaper than commercial fillers. Thanks for the video!

+Theresa Brewer I use Devcon 30 minute epoxy most often. Available at most hardware and big box stores. Thanks for watching. Kim

Why epoxy and not wood glue?

It's a personal choice for me. I am sure of the strength and gap filling qualities of epoxy. Thanks for watching. Kim
