I can see that some were already broken, but it's too bad you had to break off the rest of those plates on the top at the start. The end result is still great though!!
Me: "Oh, that video looks interesting, those tiles are so beautiful, let's see how he manages to fix them..." ...heart broken after 5 seconds. WHY? They were so pretty!?
Barbie Villa on the top and all Barbies and supplies would have been my use for the new cart. My neighbors had one from Quelle catalog and had it as a bar cart in the 70s. Of course with Korn and Ei-Ei-Ei Verporten! Ahhh... childhood. Thank You for a trip down memory lane.❤
Very German 80s, so I know why you did not even try to save the tiles... I can also see why someone millenial and younger might want to save those as "vintage". Lots of what I threw away as "old fashioned rubbish" is "mid-century vintage" now...
This was heartwarming to watch. How nice that you restored what your daughter suggested. People need to deal with your decision to not use the tile. Sheesh.
I always enjoy your quality workmanship, craftsmanship. You are one of the best in the business on you tube. I apologize I can't afford you monthly membership and nor do i buy your t-shirts and stuff Yet! But I do watch your videos from beginning to end, always like the video and try to comment as I believe this helps you in your algorithms and you tube bonus for those that do watch the complete video. If I was in the business that you do I would most definitely support you whole heartedly because you share your wisdom and teach people how to do it. That’s so funny, this tray was a mass product from the late 70s or early 80s. Made with cheap wood and cheap tiles. No part of this thing would have ever been an antique.
It isn't either. But if your little daughter pulls this thing 1.5 km through the village and beams with joy and shows you the thing, then you turn it into a project for your channel. Whether you like it or not. 😀 Greetings
That poor old trolley had certainly seen better days but you brought it back to life. No doubt, you also brought a smile to your daughter's face - well done.
Schönes Video. Der Teewagen sieht klasse aus! Tja, manchmal kann man den Kindern nichts ausschlagen.😁 Wenn Ihr so "keine" platz dafür habt, könntet Ihr den evtl. als "Grillwagen" nutzen?
@chrigunrestauration i have a few that look like that but are hand painted from a artist from the late 60's. Tiles are worth $100 a a tile. I collect odd things 😆 🤣
It's the only piece I've ever used chalk paint on. Also only because my daughter brought this piece with her. In none of my other videos do I work like I did in this video.
It was broken, broken several times and parts were missing. You could not use it. It was lying on the garbage. My little intelligence is not enough to understand how it could have been better before. You are probably right.
hello, I am passionate about carpentry and furniture restoration and I believe I was one of the first to follow your work but I will also be the first to be disappointed. I was happy to see this video I waited patiently for it to be posted. I was curious to see how you were going to restore it and then I had a heartache to see the first minute, the beginning announced nothing good and in the end I wonder what is the point of giving a second life to this old furniture which will disappear with their creators and their know-how. to obtain this result you would have done better to leave it on the sidewalk, maybe a homeless person uses wood for heating.
That's a bit harsh. If the tiles could have been salvaged, that would have been nice, but they're really nothing particularly rare. The substrate was pressboard, again, not exactly top quality material. For what it was, the refurbishment was fine - Personally, I wouldn't have gone for vinyl paper as that's not going to be all that durable for too long - might have thought of some other way to have covered the top (popsicle sticks with the round ends cut off and glued on in an herringbone pattern?) but it's far better than it was. To each their own, the daughter is happy, and that's really all that matters.
@@leewood729 You could have done a lot. And no matter how I would have done it, it could have been done differently again. The possibilities are very large. And someone wouldn't have liked it. Could the tiles have been saved? Yes. but I didn't want it. I find tiles on furniture...! Have a nice Sunday.
😂😂😂 You tricked me very well! Broke the tiles and then out chalk paint and vinyl on .....I stopped the video to check I was on the right channel ! And then realizing its for your daughter ❤ Furniture is meant to be used and loved. I am sure a little girls tea trolley will be well loved. What a sweet gift and lovely way to share your work with your family. Thank you for sharing this video!
Das habe ich auch nicht. Ich habe Sekundenkleber eingeklebt. Die Reparatur dauerte 20 Sekunden. Sie können sie gerne komplett austauschen, wenn Sie denken, dass es sich lohnt
What anybody else likes or dislikes, he did what his daughter asked him to do, and that makes him a top dad in my book
thank you very much 😀
Absolutely

😀
That hurt. Total waste. 😭
Those tiles are literally not worth anything. Machine printed mass product.

...heart broken after 5 seconds. WHY? They were so pretty!?
Why did you smash those tiles?
Because they’re ugly us hell 😂
Совершенно верно. Кафель как отдельное искусство
Nice. I would have preferred new tiles on top.

Why break such beautiful tiles? Beginners!
Read why and for whom I made this project. I think you have not understood.
