Actually I think Studio Series Starscream is more accurate. I mean the cape color is more accurate, the colors are brighter like the show, the body and head are more like G1, the shoulder pad is also more accurate to the film. My biggest issue with the other one is it’s a little too dark than how the 86 did it.

@@jonathanwyatt6572 There's the TR-02A reissue that _should_ have all the issues of the original fixed, though IDK if it's actually better.
They pulled a bait and switch with the factories before, so we must wait to see if it will happen again. For now, the paint looks better, the fingers are more durable, and the shoulders do not require fixing. However, the inherent problems with the mold still persist. The ratchets, super mode feet holes, and hip skirt designs are inherently bad and cannot be fixed. Frankly, at $150+ I don't think it offers anything better than similarly priced or cheaper offerings except being Galaxy Convoy.
For the Price just buy the original. At least that way you know what you’re getting quality wise.

i ordered one fairly recently and it felt almost on par with official figures, at least to my hands. other than the sharper edges that come with most KOs nothing has broken on mine. just a couple loose joints i had to fix.

Commander of stars is such a fucking shame. He looks amazing and Cybertron Prime was my holy grail in the entire Transformers franchise and the original is impossible to find in my country. I was so hyped to finally be able to have a Cybertron Prime but now I'm happy I waited a bit because I didnt know it was so bad

I was SO excited to see Commander of Stars come out. So sad to see the garbage QC and maybe the re-issue will fix it. Cybertron has little to no figures out there, let alone 3P/MP scale ones.

So baiwei has really improved their quality and reissued star leader with their better plastic

I think you probably bought the first or second edition of Baiwei Optimus prime. Basically the first 2 editions are awful. The third one is only slightly better. They made a deluxe (not deluxe class) of it later which fix a lot of problems. And they made a “painted” version of it basically just replace grey to shiny grey. The only good part of the painted version is they finally add silver to the wheels.
Coronation Starscream might be dogshit quality but his face is oddly adorable.

I hate that you had such a bad experience with that Star Leader ko ss prime man. He's a pretty awesome figure. He's a perfect blend of the 2 studio series bayprimes. Like on Hasbeen's new version, you lose the 2nd wheel articulaion in bot mode "I think anyways, don't own it" but on star leader they keep it. I'm trying to think of any other differences, but not having the og one makes it kinda difficult. I do have "05?" as a ko as well. I've had close to 0 problems with any of my KO's with NBK Devistator being the glaring exception. He's made out of the same material as his plastic prison clamshell he came in. Well not his, it was made of overhead projector film lol. Anyway, I've got the black version of Star Leader, and other than his diecast feet being a bright silver, making me imagine him as run DMC.. hear me out lol. He's all black with a few accents, wearing a bright ass pair of Nikes lol. BUT my copy is very solid, tight joints, like no weed in the mouth tight, great paint, and sturdy. My ko of 05 eventually had a piece of smokestack break off, and I fixed it... except for it had a microscopic varience in the position of the angled top.. so I fixed it again, and again, and again, with each successive "fix" making it worse, to the point of "fuggit" and now there is only one. Yup, give me 10 minutes of your time to read this, I'm sure you have it to spare lol, sorry for the length.
And the alt mode of star leader and the og does not look as good as 05 "boy I hope that number is right, otherwise I'll get picked on" but getting there is a decent bit easier. The place you pointed out looking empty is far better on the older mold.
