Great video. It was exciting to see the fish. I like to use a firm strip set and keep the rod pointed at the fish. Modern rod tips are so flimsy.
Seeing a local master like Steve struggle in these videos makes me feel better about not catching a trophy tarpon, bonefish or permit my first time down in the keys. Social media gets expectations high but it's actually nice to see what a realistic days of fishing can look like.
Yep I have been several times fishing With different guides and still haven’t caught a bonefish, permit or trophy tarpon. Caught small tarpon and snook but thats it.
DAMM MAN WE NEED CATCH AND COOK VIDEOS 👍🏻👍🏻
@MadeInTheUSA305 LOL DONT BE DUMB .. HE FISHES ALMOST EVERY DAY , HE JUST DOESNT POST IT .
Well, might not have been a beautiful day in the Keys, but it was still a heck of a lot better than where I am, lol....
Edit: I think he proved that fishing in the Keys is actually pretty easy. Catching fish, on the other hand, is impossible if the fish don't want to cooperate... 😁
Congratulations on passing 150K
That snarky "gotchya gotchya" thing was your demise hahaha. Bonefish says "karma!!!" Props for DIYing the big leagues, amigo!!!
Also, quit trout setting the tarpon on fly! Ditch a spin rod or two on your rig haha
150k 👍Congrats!
Thanks Steve.
Missed you buddy. It's weird how the algorithm works. You just popped up. Yeah, hit the Bell simple and everything . Looks like you're still running the same rig. Good to see you.
🤘🏻😎🤘🏻
Yeah buddy

Enjoy your channel a lot but love to see you in the near future more catch and clean cook a mangrove snappers
Hey, you've been practicing your fly fishing techniques. Great accuracy. You can drop it on their head and they still won't take it. I can see the improvement since I watched last. 👍
We need a catch and cook!! How about it.
A day spent not catching fish is still a better day then sitting at work🤷🏼♂️
🦝 was cursed 🤣🤙🏼
Will like to see some mangrove snapper fishing videos.
You sir are very brave i tell you, i have been in south Florida for the past 30 + years and one thing I know is that there is more shark's then humans, and you sir make your videos on the capital of where they live may God bless you and protect you always....
Sharks really are not a problem down here. Yea they’re around but we are not they’re natural prey so 99.99% of the time you will never have any problems with sharks😎
@@jayjohnson9668 I have to completely disagree with you, in the past month more and more shark attacks have been shown all over the Atlantic side of Florida, we can't turn a blind eye or keep excusing the truth, some of the attacks have been to people just sitting in the edge of the water, if we don't really find a way to share the waters things will turn to worse ....
Once again…..the fish prevail again! This is becoming way too common🤦
Chasing big full grown tarpon down with the motor never worked for anyone
Are there any spots that people can get to with a kayak but no motor? I am wondering because I am going to Key West in the summer. Any spots with snapper, snook, redfish, etc. thank u for your help.
Awesome
Do you have videos on your sort of DIY things like your push pole? I just got a canoe I want to trick out with stuff on the cheap.
Steve has lots of DIY videos on that and most everything else concerning kayaking. You'll have to go thru his video titles to find them, but he does label them.
I am asking this question because I know nothing about fishing in the Keys. Can you anchor and kind of troll with the current passing or drift with the current? To me it looks like it would work which is why if I ever make it to the Keys I'll never catch a thing :)
I feel your frustation , not many you tubers will post a great realistic video like this, were everyday is not casting and catching !!!
How come the tide is ripping like that?
Thats very typical on the flats everywhere in the Keys😎
@@jayjohnson9668 that’s crazy man. Never seen anything like it
@@TheSebtrain yea man its different than most places you will ever go. The reason is that when the tides change the water rushes in or out over a very shallow area that creates a big surge in all that water rushing over a shallow area. You get used to it over time but its constant every single day😎
Yeah, fishing is hard... that day anyway.
Some days you can’t do nothing right
I would argue Fishing in Tampa bay is harder
👍😎✌
He couldn't catch a cold
Its called fishing not catching
