Thanks for this fantastic, simple guide to updating this unit. I followed your instructions and links and within an hour it was all updated. Turns out that Evora 400 owners seem to get a lifetime of free map updates. Whilst I wish the unit had Apple Car play at least the maps are up to date now. Cheers !
Thanks for a very well made guide. Question - what tangible benefits do you get from updating the firmware? I don't care about the maps since I never use the car's nav, but does updating the firmware make the stereo sound better, add features or something along those lines?
To be honest I have not noticed any specific improvements in features etc, I just like to keep firmware up to date for any less common bugs being resolved.
Unit will not upload the maps or POI, uploads everything else but stalls at the maps and then say something about info on usb does not match the unit cannot update the maps
Not sure what you mean. In the video I am literally showing up to update from USB. If you are trying to put non official maps update, then no this is not the video for you.
To update maps first plug unto car stero USB PORT . open the maps go to settings on maps navigate to updates and say yes . Now take usb to computer first open naviextra toolbox plug in usb and log in go to updates and update WHY THE F DIDNT ANYBODY SAY THIS 10 KINDS OFF ANNOYING .
Thanks for taking the time to make this. Just updated the unit in a car I brought.
Pleasure, thanks for watching.

Do you know the way to get Apple CarPlay in this Alpine’s model ?
As far as I am aware there is no Android Auto or Apple Car Play compatibility with this model.
Do you know how to hook a laptop up to the Sat Nav ? I've tried though the USB but the unit is not recognised by the computer
Afraid not, only done it via the method shown.
Unit will not upload the maps or POI, uploads everything else but stalls at the maps and then say something about info on usb does not match the unit cannot update the maps
Sorry I cant help, mine went smooth as per the video.
Any suggestions about new model or brand to upgrade the entertainment unit for the evora 400?
Afraid not mate, the current unit does the job for my needs. Few people on the Lotus forums have upgraded though, so might be worth a look there.
Thanks for not showing WHERE to get the update off the Alpine website!
Perhaps read the description mate ... reading is hard I know.
So my pleasure for showing WHERE it is!
@@SpectrumGeeks my apologies! Thanks 🙏🏼
@Andrew Cruz Pleasure :)
@@SpectrumGeeks reading, not my strongest area, which is why I’m here! 🤣😂😁 Cheers! 🍻
So im trying to get the maps onto a usb you didn't tell me

Hero thank you!
Most welcome.
Thank you!
so..did you upgrade for free the navi ?
Yes, I was never prompted to pay anything. I don't know if this is because the head unit was less than 3 years old, or its just the way it is.
