@@sirius_li No joke. A row and a half of my 22"x12.5" board is just EHX. I made room by using the one of the HX STomp's Big Muff models and moved the Tri Parallel mixer to the floor. Still, four nanos, an Oceans 12 and a Cntl Knob is still pretty much an entire row.
Yeah if @CyberattackWorld does that, make sure you check out the Germanium OD! Despite the misnamed title, its like kind of a full-range treble booster, with bias and voltage knobs. Its a worthwhile peddle that doesn't get enough love.
Funny timing, I finally just made a video on my Fairfields. Excited to see where you rank them. Meet Maude for life! Edit: to make you like Meet Maude more, try also having mix and tone at max, time at min, and modulation/comp turned on. Makes it into one of the coolest lofi vibrato pedals too.
3:35 - Hey man, I hear you but your TH-cam vids are excellent in their own right, I think you should compile each of the sound examples that merge into your lo-fi video-scapes into one video, they're sort of an escape and a whole world to themselves that I really dig.
Love your videos my guy one of my favorite shows right now Eazy to watch and very creative and informative, your video on using fx return and what not is my favorite so far .
Excellent as always! I recommend doing an add on to this with the new set of utility pedals. The FC Board Member robs power from your pedal, with expression, and it is awesome! Try it with an old delay, like OBNE’s Mondegreen.
I had an OG barbershop that was one of my favorite pedals ever. Always on. Sold it when I had to leave my band because I moved and I regret it every day
While I am sad to see my beloved Shallow Water ranked so low, I think do understand your rationale. The SW is not the best lofi pedal, because it has a lot fewer options, and kinda... Isn't really trying to emulate tape specifically. It's just a weird vibe pedal, that I happen to really enjoy. I respect your decision.
I feel like this channel is for pedals. Like other pedals are viewing this channel because it’s for pedals. Not humans…that’s a good thing. I love this channel for that reason.
I got my big box Barbershop ca 15 years ago and it just keeps delivering. Fucking love that pedal. Whenever it's back in rotation after taking a break I get happy :)
i haven't made a ranked video yet, but i do go over a lot of my favorite lo-fi tricks here: th-cam.com/video/V3LG-rYucfI/w-d-xo.htmlsi=UJJfBwS5RgkQOpxg
Man. Your comment about the money range being split is exactly why I sold my JHS Tidewater Tremolo. Cool looking pedal, small footprint, sounded good, but the range switch was an internal dipswitch and I was just never happy with either setting for that exact reason.
@ I ended up grabbing one of the old Line 6 Tonecore Tremolo. It's a lot of options though, which I'm, undecided on if I like or not. It's good but I think I like more decisive pedal choices, I'm not really a million options guy or a tweaker. Personally if you think you like the sound of the Tidewater, I'd give it a try (especially if you have a way of trying before you buy).
I recently got a Zoia and one of my favorite patches I found so far is the Meet Maude emulation. Exactly to your point, it's cool when using it "normally" but it also gets WEIRD.
Rodger That with a Randy's revenge combined with a Roland Aria E-4 voice tweaker: holy sheet. You have the perfect Probe Droid from Empire Strikes Back.
hey, I just discover a part of a song that sound a lot like your examples and songs,it’s タラッタラッタ from Tricot in 2:15, did you know the band? I’m loving their music. Have a nice day!
I use a black grease pencil to mark my settings on pedals so I can remember my settings when I go back. It works especially well on the Fairfield Circuitry pedals. When you've completed your project, the grease pencil marks are easy to clean off. That really helped with my Roger That pedal. I wish you had their Conflict of Interest pedal because I haven't figured out how to use it yet. There's several others that they make that you didn't discuss. Do you not consider them as effect pedals? Thanks for the video.
I could see Fairfield feeling a little deflated by some statements here but I feel the opposite. I was already sold on them as a brand and am omw to getting a Shallow Water for sure. This assessment didn't deter me and now I'm going to be adding more to to my Fairfield cart so I really hope they take this as a vote of confidence and the solid win that it is. Love your content and perspective
Also, as a Canadian, I really respect and appreciate what they are bring to the market from us. We're a small market compare to our bigger neighbour to the south and they are doing us proud
Sold my barbershop because i could get more money for it than my 250, never could get exactly what i wanted out of the shallow water but the randys revenge is perfect, love the moog more for trem kinda sounds but hiding some ring mod with the low pass gives things a ms-20 kinda vibe i love so much.
Unpleasant surprise really has a rep for being weird - it’s really the most clear, simply square wave fuzz I’ve ever had, that also can handle any complex chord you throw at it. It’s so much less weird than it has a rep for.
If Mitch Hedberg & Snoopdogg went way back in time, had a baby that came of age in the beatnik culture, then that kid time travelled to the future and got into boutique guitar pedals. That’d be something.
I have such a weird and utilitarian way of using Hors D Ouvres. By itself it can be boost pedal . I have a MXR layers droning in to the feedback loop so instead of kicking the MXR pedal off I bypass it with Hors d Ouvres instead. The hit the drone off of Layers you have to double click 😅
@ yeah it is a pretty big part of my tone and during recording of my new bands first EP I put the right too negative by accident and everything sounded so much better and I have no idea why lol
You were talking about the old Kmart music and I thought "Those are on the Internet Archive." Smash cut to the Internet Archive. Nicely done. The Shallow Water is the only Fairfield Circuitry pedal I have. I feel a little let down by it. It's like I can get good chorus sounds and good lo-fi sounds out of it. But not _great_ sounds for either category. That's probably more my fault than the pedal's fault.
I used to abuse the shit out of an old Behringer rack compressor (Behringer Composer 2100) to get glitched out cheap distortion effects. Right about the time Daft Punk was using it for sidechain ducking and making millions of moneydollars, I was being a jerkoff and using it as a distortion pedal. (They are still hella cheap and are actually very clean transparent compressors, but not a ton of headroom, so you can get them to break up)
As a bass player I bounce back and forth between a benson preamp and the modele b as my always on final drive stage. Modele b into a pulp n peel v4 is my grab and go for just sounding like a bass di.
Ive nevwr owned or intended to get any fairfields (im boss & eqd devoted) but i like how these all get a hand made vibe and opposite of types that get usb jacks on them. Its a botique style brand with their garage utility aesthetic too. Whats funny is the roger that seems to be the one i now want the most and is your flop tier lmao. Also now that i got your attention [i love u actually read these and give a fudge] so.. new record when? I love sure thing so much its part of my morning wake up mix and my bike ride mix as an opening traxk to set the tone. Its been awhile could we get an update on whats going on with your next release??
Thank you for this comment and for wanting an album update in the first place. The plan is to finish it this year. I’m also planning to show off some early work-in-progress tracks for my Patreons and TH-cam members in the next month. And if you look in the video description of this video and follow the link to the list of songs I cover in all my gear vids, you’ll see a bunch are “forthcoming original songs,” many of which are actually little demos for the next album. Thanks again for caring about any of this.
Tip from one weird sound enjoyer to another: The Italian company Fteletronica make a Schumann PLL clone, as well as a few other cool clones like the old Lovetone stuff and such.
I ran into the same thing with the shallow water. Without the Empress Reverb LOFI assist it just didn't hit right and once I'm using that reverb setting many other pedals step up and perform better.
Have you tried the V1 Barbershop? It's definitely a different flavour. I have both a V1 and V2 on my pedal board, and the V2 going into the V1 is my favourite fuzz sound ever.
I was hoping for a four eyes shoutout. It's a misunderstood pedal for synth nerds with delusions of grandeur. I know you're limited to pedals Fairfield sent you, but have you tried it?
Fairly sure I could listen to you talking about anything. I don't even play guitar any more, have no knowledge of pedals or anything like that. Oh cyberattack has a new video let's watch.
cyberattack so painfully honest you can see it physically hurting him in real time
That’s exactly what makes this channel God-Tier
lol. awesome
“on one hand i admire that, but on the other hand i refuse to tolerate that.” real
absolutely a whole mood
Would be so cool to see one about Earthquaker devices
i would love to do this but i need to spend time with more of their stuff
Some of their shit is wild, that’s a deep well in my opinion
My friend has a data corrupter and it's amazing, you can use it from a fuzz to an absolute noise machine
@@CyberattackWorldtheir catalogue is massive too, you could get a feature film out of that review.
Would be fun to see a Electro harmonix tierlist.
Gonna need a bigger board, though.

Mini tier list in this middle of this video. Random LFO tier list. Thank you. I needed to hear that about the Shallow Water. Appreciate you.
S tier video

The stars have aligned. The circle is complete. The pedal masters have gathered for the holy ritual.
You answered 100% of my questions about the Roger That. So, roger that.

when using Randy as a synth try patching it's CV out to it's input, that way you get a CV able filter that can act as a gate

Cyberattack single-handedly inspiring me to pick up my guitar again. Binge watching on my bus commute to work…
Oooh, also one of my fav brands. What a niche ranking! I’ve currently got the accountant, shallow water, and a fuzz

Man, Fairfield might have the best looking pedals in the biz. (Other than the classic Boss enclosures).
Barbershop set on lower gain at 18v through a fender twin with a Jazzmaster or jag was my signature base tone for the longest.
