This game was one of the BEST! I wish the developers could make a remastered versions of the Harry Potter games for future Playstation, Xbox, and Nintendo consoles.
I played this game constantly as a sixth grader and absolutely loved it. When I was in my sophomore or junior year of high school my brothers took it and sold it without me knowing so they could buy themselves the latest version of Xbox. I cried so hard and my dad tells me his biggest regret is that he didn’t tell my brothers to go back to the store and get my games back. (he was working out of town so couldn’t help) ironically my brothers stole from me 2 more times (both my Xbox 360 which they sold)
They are better be not. It’s probably impossible and Electronic (Gambling) Arts won’t do this, but imagine they would and they will definitely ruin it epically. I don’t want to see Hermione as a man-hating angry feminist, Ron being a half-african son, due to his mother willingness to kuk her hubby with an african male and Harry starting identifying himself as a woman in late series along with in-game store.

Oh my God! Those angles.. It's a bit of a flaw in this game - lining the camera up with a decent angle to make the jump, and suddenly it will flick off to the side and change your jump trajectory
Great video bro, I remember being like 9-10yrs old struggling to understand this game, although I still loved it. I really want to play it again now that i'm 18, just to get the nostalgia. I really hope I can find my old Xbox copy of it
I just got back from playing this game as an adult. I can now see all the frustration I had as a child. First off, trying to avoid getting caught by the prefects is a major pain. This game was not designed to have fluent stealth mechanics. The camera angles in which you use to peep at the prefects is AWFUL. They also don’t have very distinctive patterns, you just kind of get lucky. The jumping is automatic and you have to calculate every single jump other wise Harry just takes a dive in the wrong direction. There’s no avoiding the ghosts in some areas of the game. Which costs your health. The hit detection on enemies works when it wants to. Every time an enemy attacks you, you have to wait for a blue orb to appear before you can attack anybody. That to me is a load of garbage. The only real thing I appreciated in this game was the checkpoint system. Without that, I would’ve split my disc in half. This game was meant for kids, and the challenges in this game is definitely not suitable for a 9 year old. In order to get through them, you’d need a lot of patience. But what little kid honestly has that? When I first played this as a child I thought this game was broken or I just wasn’t playing it right. But no, I just come to find that it’s just a game that literally runs on its own difficulty.
You know, I noticed that if you take damage, you lose some beans, much like when you lose rings in Sonic the Hedgehog and when you lose crystals in Croc: Legend of the Gobbos.

This game took me years to complete. There were several hiatuses that were caused by my inability to complete certain portions of the game (I started playing when I was 6.) The first hiatus was when I reached Diagon Alley, it took me a while to complete the Leaking Cauldron level, those rolling barrels were annoying lol. What took months for me to complete was the Borgin & Burkes level. Looking back it was probably a year and a half. Not only did this level scare me but I was unfamiliar with 3D games at the time. I was able to unlock all characters in Melee when I was 6-7 but I couldn’t move properly in 3D areas. After I finally completed Diagon Alley it was a straight shot towards Hogwarts but Night One was quite “difficult”. It took me a while to figure out how to remove the Horklump’s from the Green House entrance. This was a few months at most. I wasn’t solely playing this game, I took breaks from it but I always managed to come back. The next major and probably main hiatus was Day 2 of Hogwarts. The Expelliarmus dungeon was rough. I didn’t have access to the internet at the time so everything took longer to complete. The swinging metal chains were the biggest obstacle of my childhood. I couldn’t seem to get passed it. I tried every timing scenario to make it but I just couldn’t. From here I took a 2-3 year break and didn’t look back. I was around 10-12 years and decided to return. I finally completed it and it was nonstop progress, I eventually made it to the end and my inner child was happy. Now I’m in my first year of College and it’s moments like these that I will always cherish. I might check out Hogwarts Legacy and see if I can be hit by nostalgia. Here’s hoping for a remaster. The one thing about this game that really disappointed me was that Alohomora didn't do anything! There were a whole bunch of locked doors throughout the castle that I thought Alohomora would open but it didn't 😩 was my game glitched or something?

"It sorta just warps you around." And thus makes walking about almost clausterphobic. Or was that something in all versions and I just misremembered? *Update:* I looked it up, apparently the GC/Xbox version do this, and are also missing a few things. Such as being able to deduct Slytherin points when you're transformed to look like one of them. That, and there is warp coding to keep from exploring Hogwarts as much outside, as well as well. Additionally, different models and lighting engine. (My guess is because GC disc space? And maybe Xbox version was based off that version?)
