  • In this video I use mica pigments from Just Paint and Le'Rez to make my own eyeshadow. I use isopropyl alcohol and organic vegetable glycerin as a binder. I haven't perfected the ratio of the binder but so far 2 parts alcohol to 1 part glycerin seesm to be the best. Let me know what you think of my experiment!! Thanks for watching!

    The mica pigments that I have used are listed below:
    Just Paint: Mermaid, Seaweed, Orchid Petal, Tropicana, Key Lime (I misspoke in video and called it kiwi), Cloud Blue, Oceanic Blue, Seal, Sparkle Miner's Gold and a mix of Aubergine, Sparkle Shiraz and Cotton Candy.
    Le'Rez: Sunflower Yellow and Coral.

    Glycerin isn’t good as an eyeshadow binder but if you want to use Glycerin you should use cosmetics Glycerin and Vegetable Glycerin. The best binder you can use is Isopropyl Myristate and Dimethicone. If you’re pressing glitters you use Glycerin with Isopropyl Alcohol and Aloe Vera Gel. Your eyeshadows are very beautiful though.

      @@SheriPhaffArtPaintBrushed You’re very welcome. I meant not Vegetable Glycerin but Cosmetic when making glitters, and you can buy Isopropyl Myristate on Amazon.
      I really love the colors you made 🤩 I think I’m gonna make a colorful palette like that 😊

    I've seen some tutorials where people are using Isopropyl Myristate like a binder 2 drops for each eyeshadow ( i have found it on Amazon) and rest 20 drops or so of rubbing alcohol 70% is also very good , plus others add 2 drops aloe vera or coconut oil in liquid form. I don't think you need glycerin. For these mica or pigments you definitely need binder to actually stay and glide on smoothly! When you repress some broken eyeshadows or highlighters you need just alcohol because they already have binder in it. Probably this info helps!

      Thank you that is helpful. All the videos that I watched only used the two things so that is why I only used the two things. I haven't seen any using the ingredients you mentioned but is good information to know! Thanks for watching!

    How did you like the texture with this formulation?

    • @SheriPhaffArtPaintBrushed
      @SheriPhaffArtPaintBrushed  ปีที่แล้ว

      I didn't get the formulation quite right - some were still very powdery and some felt a bit oily.

    You said someone just used alcohol if it's the one I saw she was pressing MAC pigments which they have a binder already in them..which some pigments will but not all like MBA cosmetics they had binder n primer in they're loose multichrome pigments but they stopped selling them last year.

    So me n my darughter use to brake down old broken pallets n repress them. A couple of pointers I can give u is #1 only use a very littel alcohol to mix the color's to where its not liquid but more of like a clay dryer form n buy a make up press than u put the makeup in the littel tin n press it hard down so the powder not loose u can do it in layers also than it don't take long to dry maybe n hr n they won't be so loose powder it's more of a pressed downer pallet. Look up fixing broken makeup pallet videos n you'll understand the advice I'm try to give u.

      I under stand what you are saying and thank you. I would imagine that pre-pressed commercial eyeshadow already has the binders that has been recommended. Here I was using straight mica powder that wasn't previously a commercial eyeshadow. Thanks for watching!

    I make my own glitter palettes. You may want to do 1.5 parts alcohol to 1 part glycerine.
