I love how personal this episode got and love listening to yall every week :) Since it got a little deep I’m throwing in my two cents here. I know Jared often says things aren’t bothering him and he’s okay, but I don’t agree. It’s obvious he’s going through something and often times the first step to feeling better is accepting that things are shitty and that the things said by parents/friends etc. actually do bother him. Jordana gives great advice but maybe therapy isn’t such a bad idea? Also, as a Bay Area girly I want to point out that Jared was thrivinggggg in SF. Maybe a new scene will do the trick? Jordanna is funny! And Jared doing some real talk at the start. So much is relatable. I think it'd be interesting to explore with Dr Naomi (with or without it being a podcast episode). Also a way for Dr N to feel better about those tickets 😅
And the guy I dated for most of 2022 was allergic to my cats and said to me once, "If we got serious and moved in together, I know you'd rehome them." I smiled and told him he was insane. Animals > Guys
Netflix really didn’t think through how this friends to lovers segment would land with these particular NYC realists reading them out 😂 that segment has made me laugh out loud every week
Flashnews GUYS, it can be harder to have children over 40 if you're a man too. And the risks of the child having health issues (heart for example) also rise with the man's age. Kudos on the dog take! And the other weird behavior the guy does... Loved the episode again! Also I agree on the twin thing, if it doesn't bother the brotherS, why is this an issue for her? It wasn't a relationship, so I really don't get it.
Jared... Sounds like depression, and that you need hobbies! Happy to hear you're going out less. Also... maybe you just really haven't admitted to yourself that you don't want the conventional wife and family? If you really wanted it, you would've taken those steps, IMO.
Portugal is great! Jared would love the food and the people. Lisbon is a great city to explore and the seacoast is very cool. Cascais is so pretty! Porto is also really nice. The beaches to the south are also really nice. To the writer of the dog email, if the dog is peeing when your boyfriend approaches him, he is clearly abusing the dog when you are not around. Definitely. This guy is very violent. Get out now!
I don’t agree with Jordana in the sense that I do think having a relationship slowssss down your career a ton! I was shooting for major success in my company and hadn’t had a relationship in a long time so I was all in. Then for the first time in over 10 years I got into a relationship (my boyfriend now) and it definitely made my work falter because I had to pay attention to him. Couldn’t work late nights like I used to. Or some weekends. And not because he’s not supportive, if I have to he’d be okay with it… but you can feel that your relationship needs quality time so you start creating more work life balance. It’s not a bad thing but I have noticed my productivity isn’t as strong anymore and I don’t see myself being that person I used to be at my job anymore, not in THATT way. Also, in Jared’s career I think having a gf would’ve definitely not made him as successful because she would probably want (validly so) attention and dedication. He needs to work overtime to get where he’s going. Maybe nowww is the time to have one though because you’re already in a good place. But I do think your life would change and you have to give up a tiny little bit that work focused effort you put in it today. That’s not a bad thing though
