    Cool to see how you treated the fungus! Hoku had some when I first got him, but it was fixed up nice and quick by some bumped up water temps :)

    At what age would a hatchling no longer be considered a hatchling? I'm asking this because I have a box turtle who has just reached her year mark! And I was wondering when should I stop feeding her every day and switch to every other day?

    • @DanTheTurtleMan_
      @DanTheTurtleMan_  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Can you please explain what brackish water is? I don’t get any results when I look it up

    • @DanTheTurtleMan_
      @DanTheTurtleMan_  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Sure! It's basically water that is too salty to drink, but is technically not "ocean" water. Brackish water has a specific gravity of about 1.008-1.015 (these numbers are very rough)

    • @DanTheTurtleMan_
      @DanTheTurtleMan_  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Saltwater has a specific gravity of about 1.025, and fresh I believe is 0-1.002

    • @DanTheTurtleMan_
      @DanTheTurtleMan_  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Bryan, what species? Usually soft shell means calcium deficiency. Purchase some "Repti Cal" that comes in a powder, sprinkle on his favorite food, and in a month or so it should strengthen. Also, dont push too hard on their shells especially when young.

      Hi there! A pond is not required to be heated for all turtles. I just made a video recently on brumation actually! (Turtle hibernation). The pond was dirty at first, however I cleaned it out so by the end of the video the turtles had a nice place to spend winter sleeping! Thanks for watching :)
