The one big projection of Elphaba on the clock at the beginning is always so amazing to see. It had me in awe the first time I saw it, especially when she raises her hands above her head the final time at the end.

saw wicked in manchester the other day and i think the best projection is in the Wizard and I where she says she would be so happy she would melt and the spotlights expand and turn into cogs and i just loved it!

The projection seen at 1:49, do they use that during the flying part of Defying Gravity?! I always thought that these growing circles are due to the lights in the fog!!

i'm glad they added that in (that replaced the big witch hat they used to have on stage at the beginning) until they added that projection the opening on tour was shorter because the orchestra skipped over a small portion of the overture (the part they skipped was where the witch hat was on stage but neither tour had it.) when the projection was added in the part that was originally abbreviated on tour was added in to the touring version to make it just like other productions.

I never really understood the witch hat...i mean like i do in context but It always looked kinda cheep agains the grand scale of the show and I was happy I never saw a production with it in...the way it is now is perfect!
