Thank you again for all the beneficial knowledges and good to hear the news about pig kidney transplant, hopefully that will be the new chapter for kidney patients. And by the way Doc what is your thoughts on artificial kidneys and would that become reality at any time soon?
I imagine you read these comments, so I will post. 1. Is the PRAL value of food as important as its touted to be? 2. Are there PSCs that can redifferentiate into nephrons via activation like they're recently found in other organ systems. Most famously they recently repaired a severed optical nerve in a mouse. This research is still on going, but I don't know if there's been whispers about it in the nephrology field yet. 3. I would really love to hear a talk on nephrology specific supplements. People are becoming their own doctors, and we need to guide them as we can. It's hard to do with little or contradictory information. 4. Does a state of metabolic acidosis, regardless of how slight (eg serum bicarb of 23), continue to damage kidneys or at least stop any cellular repair?
I need to talk to you about my kidneys. It's very important.I have swelling a both kidneys and the Doctor says it's not important but I feel that it is.And the Doctor says I can eat anything.I want, I don't have to go to animal protein.I don't believe that I believe you
@@Iloveyoujesus77 usually an A1C of 7 or over. Your normal BS may be close to normal range or a little about. 70-100 is normal fasting BS. The actual nephrologist here is out from what he said in his live session. I'd bet he won't see these for a while. But the one thing he does say frequently is switch to a whole plant based diet and talk to your doc about it.
Go see a nephrologist . Your doctor doesn't see the reason for the swelling ? That should give you an alert . But stick with Dr. Hashmi you might get an answer .
Hi, just discovered you channel. Very informative. Q. I was recently diagnosed with stage 3a CKD and am occasionally experiencing shortness of breath. I thought I might be having a heart attack? Is it a symptom of CKD and can it be minimized? Thanks.
Hi, I was recently diagnosed too. Are you trying anything with the diet. Are you planning to go plant based? I am looking for someone to discuss and share abt this journey.
@@daydreamerworld3056 Hi. Yes have gone plant based for the last 2 weeks and am already feeling better. Also exercising most days. Was diagnosed with stage 3 and a GFR of 49. I have to go back for a second blood test in June and am hoping to get a better result. Would be happy share the journey with you. What's your situation like?

@@mrbesinadventures1909 Hi, I was originally diagnosed with stage 3 and a GFR of 49. I also had pains in my bones and shortness of breath. I went on a plant based diet and exercised every day. 10 weeks later my GFR is 70 so I am now in stage 2. Still have a few symptoms but nowhere near as bad. For me exercise is just as important as diet. Hope that helps.

I’m 72 if I am going 12-14 hours not eating after dinner am I still getting benefit from this
I had read that a Japanese doctor made studies about benefits of intermittent fasting
Are the GLP1 or 2 safe for kidneys?
Then how can we sweeten our drinks ? Just a small amount of natural sugar? Or?
Can people with ckd fast without adverse effects?
9:00 Problems with the study and the take away message.
Also y are the new drugs like Ozempic and Farxiga have so many horrible side effects
Why won't you answer me

I just read about this in diabetic patients. You need to look up what happens when kidneys swell, then shrink.
Also my glucose and stuff says that i'm not diabetic... What does your glucose have to be to be diabetics
Doctor please answer me
