The mildliners are the original one and the color looks very soft and I always use it to take notes. But for some reasons, I prefer milkliners because it looks a bit more pastel in my opinion and it's also inexpensive. BTW you can also do calligraphy using the second tip(the fine tip) of the milkliners

I have the Marvy brush it's really flexible which I like but the writing on the barrel rubs off pretty quickly

Thank you so much! I actually just bought a new pack of them and want to test them out a bit more to see how long they'll last! I could see them feeling more dry because the pen til is so small, kind of like the hard tip tombow fude. But none of mine have personally run out of ink yet. Hope that helps!

I’ve been watching your videos for a long time & everytime I watch you hand letter I can’t help myself from sighing and saying how beautiful your lettering is & if I would ever b able to write like that. See, I’m pretty crafty and usually find it easy & fulfilling . I usually like the outcome of them...I’m feeling SO DISCOURAGED by this though. I’ve been trying it for weeks, on and off and I can’t get the hang of it. My letters like HORRID & I want to toss my pens everywhere! Lol. I have almost every book also..is it possible? My writing is so neat yet my brush pen/faux calligraphy is horrendous! What am I doing wrong?...
Thank you so much for such a thoughtful comment. It is so kind. I completely understand being discouraged. I was TERRIBLE when I first started brush lettering. In my typical all or nothing personality, I obsessed over it until my wrist hurt and I thought I had carpal tunnel. It wasn't easy! (and I don't recommend ruining your arm that way, haha!) I truly believe that it is just practice, practice, practice! When you're using books, are you tracing? I know that so many books just give you a couple of letters to trace and then expect you to do it on your own and that's why for many of my worksheets I give an entire page for just 1 letter. Like a full page of lower case a, etc. It seems like overkill, but I think the repetition until your muscle memory kicks in is really important! Have you joined my free mini course? It's just a series of 7 emails, but there are some worksheets throughout that that may help you. You can sign up at howtohandletter.com/minicourse if not! But I hope that you're encouraged that you're not alone. Brush lettering/calligraphy is SO much different than having neat handwriting so it's not you at all... it's normal that it's hard!
