Missed the radio message by Alonso that i saw somewhere else, when he said that max was behind him while he should have been in front of him behind Lewis during the early part of the safety car when lapped cars between them didn't had the call to pass Lewis yet.

It's amazing how all of Carlos' team mates - Max, Lando and Charles are considered special and how he flies under the radar and does his job so spectacularly well. Indeed one smooth operator. comes across as a very intelligent driver with his feet firmly on the ground.

Ikr? As talanted as Charles (LeChair) is, he finished behind Carlos and let's be fair, Charles gets more recognition even when he absolutely butchers it. For example he got DOTD in Austria from going last to 5th/6th behind carlos. And why was he last? Because he clipped Gasly's rear tyre and broke his front wing on the first lap, while also taking Gasly out as he tried a way too risky overtake than made no sense at that point.

Nobody considers Lando special, he's still clearly a rookie. Him throwing away a win in Sochi by ignoring his race engineer broke him mentally and he's just been dropping back all season since.

Every teammate of Max hugged him after the race, Albon even screaming in the mic, perez defending like a lion for him, carlos beign genuine happy, daniel being so happy. A true family

Carlos and Tsunoda did fantastic this time around. I would've never expected Tsunoda so close to the podium in the car he's in.
He made small improvements to his driving in his rookie year amazing effort. At this rate in 2023 Yuki could become a serious contender in the top spots as long he is supported by his team

@@leejordan909 Alonso does not dictate when the track is safe for unlapping. The fact that Verstappen was later given a free-of-lapped-cars situation perfectly contradicts him. Add to that the fact that he ridiculously blamed Tsunoda for trying to push him off track (which he did to himself) and it is clear that his statements are not wise, at least not when he is competing (like most competitors).

The fact Albon was the guy who first talked to Max as a WDC says a lot about Red Bull this year, Albon was a unseen hero.
Albon was the reason why Perez and tsunoda got to understand everything about their first season in the new team and was able to improve after that very much. Albon is indeed an unseen hero. I am proud rb gave him a second chance and managed to make him stick around 🔥

If Ferrari’s plan comes together in 22, Carlos could be fighting for the championship. The fact he beat Leclerc this year really shows his talent. Leclerc is supposed to be a champion in waiting but Sainz could be the X factor for Ferrari’s future. Although a team of Max and Carlos at the RB senior team would have been one tough team to beat. Shame they gave up on him so soon.

The way Yuki improved this year was so impressive though, remember some of his radio messages at the beginning of the season? He learned so much and it seems like he improved not only on track, but off track as well. He's still so young but the way he ended this last race on P4 makes me so happy for him that his efforts are paying off and I'm excited for next season. Alpha Tauri really has some great drivers

Pretty heartbreaking to hear Lewis when he realises it's all slipping away from him when Mercedes doesn't pit him. I'm a racefan and have enjoyed Lewis since he came on the grid, his fight with Max who was just purely devoted to the title was out of this world.
Even through all the controversies and moments that this season has seen between the two of them it's purely heartbreaking to hear his disappointment.

My opinion: Max deserved the WDC, he always had to fight much harder than Lewis. And Mercedes deserved the Constructors' championship. What they have done with that car was nothing short of amazing.

Actually, Norris is champion of F1.5. Sainz is the best of the rest in formula 1. In F1.5 they remove Merc and RB from the results, so the scoring system is different. It's declared on r/Formula1Point5 subreddit. But Sainz did amazing :D

Absolutely. Hopefully people will now accept that RB actually do love him. They've let him go to Williams to give him a chance to get back into F1, because they don't have another seat (shy of starting a third team, and that's not going to happen!). I think their plan is to let him rebuild his confidence - moving him to DTM helped that, and keeping him running in their colours would have certainly shown him that they still want him around - and when the time comes, he's going to get a seat back in RB, unless Williams suddenly do well and he might not want to leave!

Sainz is doing so well on his first year with Ferrari! What a quick learning driver!
Sainz is a descent driver, but I am not that impressed. It was his 7th F1 season. Zero wins. He was having a hard time with Lando Norris. He also didn’t crush Hulkenberg. I would say behind Max and Hamilton there will be hopefully Russel. Otherwise when Hamilton quits, it will be very boring.

@@edenbh3609 Unfortunately not. Max had beaten them all easily in the past. Norris didn’t destroy Sainz. Leclerc didn’t destroy Sainz. Ocon earlier had a hard time with Perez and now Alonso. Max destroyed Sainz, Ricciardo, Gasly, Albon and Perez.

I know this season was all about Max and Lewis but lets give credit to Fernando and Carlos for performing on a level no one expected them to. They have exceeded expectations and shown their consistency and experience. So excited for next year.

I absolutely love Formula 1.
The fact all the drivers are allowed to show their character really helps. Not like other sports where athletes are all PR machines. So refreshing. I love it.

We only get that from the race comms, though. In post race interviews they absolutely are PR machines. Especially Max and Lewis, always saying the same kind of vaguely positive things and dodging any direct questions about their real opinion or about things that happened. I understand why of course, but it's 100% PR speak.

iirc next year they’re initiating the budget cap, so doing worse this year will allow them to try to look for an edge over the front runners next year.

AFAIK they abandoned development of the 2021 car very early into this season and switched over fully to develop the 2022 car - so they would have had a lot of time and their entire resources poured into the 2022 design.
I will start listening to the Max post race radio whenever I feel down.
