I Thought I would share with you this very easy, Do It Yourself ( #DIY )Litterbox Idea! ^^
I got the idea from a pet store that I visited, while I searched for new special cat food for My #Cat Mia!
It might look as a Long video, & it is not so.. I Just didn't Have the option the manipulate and shorten the video more :P ..
All you will need Is a sharp knife, A large Cardboard box, a measuring tool & a marker !
Really Easy to make Cheap & more Hygienic than a normal Open litterbox, just try to clean the "poop" each day & don't let it stay there for too much !

My Cat loves her cardboard litter box.
We went to a corner store & got a short coca cola can box.
We had to cut down the rim a bit' so she would feel easy walking into her litter box.
Lay'ed down newspapers underneath her litter box, then layered the inside with more newspaper.
Then applied two types of Cat Litter:
Fresh Step & Tidy Cat.
Simply pour in the Fresh Step down first
a medium layer that covers the bottom completely.
Then pour a half medium layer of Tidy Cat and then grab your kitty litter shovel scooper then
rake & groom the litter like your trenching a field.
Finally, pour a light layer of Fresh Step just to cover the top.
Every day I'm cleaning her litter area, sweeping up bits of litter on the floor & changing her newspaper.
I change her litter box once a week.

She's only 5yrs Old & Very Vocal.

Thanks for this great video. You may consider removing the bells from the cats' collars. Just imaging yourself trying to sleep (or do anything really) with a jingly bell around your neck.

I might need to make something like this for my girl. I use a large plastic storage container for her litter, because it's lower to step into and she has more room than if I used an actual litter box from a pet store. but it doesn't have a top. I'd just need to find a huge cardboard box to cover up the top. panda and Mia have gotten so big!

Why not just put a small tote with the litter inside the box,. It would be much easier to clean than dealing with papers. I don't see how this keeps the litter inside the box...you must still get tracking

I made an easier litter box. I just took a shoebox and cut the lid of, filled it with litter, and my new kitten loved it. not saying this is bad, but not all cats like litter boxes with lids, either. my kitten was scared when I tried it with the lid on! it was cute, though... Still liked the vid!👍

Iam sorry for my late response. Usually you sift the white particles with a special cat litter tool, and throw the hardened parts away ( poop).
This type of litter after few weeks, It has to be changed becuase it doesnt clump, although it absorbs all the pee, untill a point is reached and then it has to be thrown and changed.

What’s the litter composed of? Can i use sand as an alternative? Thanks!
It is crystal sand specialized for cats urine, it absorbs odors and liquids pretty good. Ofcourse you have a lot of other options on the market. I Have tried sand before, it is easy to use but smells really bad after few uses.

I am sorry for my late reply! cats have an instinct, even when kittens, if you put them inside a litter box, they will automatically use the litter box. try moving its paws into the sand as if it is digging the litter. it will help. make sure the kitten is old enough to use the litter box. the size of the box doesn't matter in the beginning, But the bigger the better.

my friend used crustal cat litter also but it doesn't absorb liquid so there is no clump..i hate it
Yup it does not clump.. but you can use the regular type too. I use both types, i have 2 boxes and each cat uses the one it likes the most.

My cat just got blind beacuse (my dads theory is) that he got into fight with other cat but he wasn't home 4 days and he came today because he could orientate a little bit we want to keep him in a house beacuse outside is dangerous for him he even himself (somehow) blind came in our house and doesn't want to move so we will keep him in house (as I said) but we want to make litter box but don't know how to make it easier for him since he's (hopefully permanently) blind
Cats have a lot of strong instincts, I am really sorry to hear about your beautiful cat :( .. you should take him/her to the vet in order to get him/her evaluated, and get proper treatment .
About a litter box, I think this box would help, but if he can't see, maybe if you remove the lid that I have cut in the middle, it would be much better for your cat.

Unfortunately he has passed away. I'm just glad that he didn't die near our house beacuse I could not handle finding him in our garden dead. He actually didn't want to leave until he felt/saw us all (his vision got tiny whiny better) . That was his little goodbye to us. Anyways thank you again for your kind wishes. I'm really happy somebody understands. And I did make litter box shown in the video after we removed the lid in the middle. Your video helped me a lot trough that time. ♥
May I ask how much cost buying a litter sand?
It can start from anywhere like 5 dollars per kg and up.. depends on the type and quality.

I put the cat inside the box, they naturally use the sand, if not you can add a little piece of poop from your cat, so they can smell and know its their toilet. More ever the first time i put mia on the sand i tried playing with her paws in the sand, it helped a lot. Good luck & do not worry, cats are natural with boxes and sand!

I hope it helped you in any way! try getting a number of litter boxes made of hard plastic, add in your litter, and spread the boxes over the house. it should help if you have a number of cats.

true, that's why I added the plastic bag under the gravel/litter. as other commenters had suggested, it would be a great idea to add a hard plastic tray under the plastic bag to prevent the box from getting wet.

True indeed. that's why I added the plastic bag under the gravel. as other commenter said you can also add a hard plastic on the bottom under the plastic bag.

The litter sand that you pour in the box looks gross
Some cats need the smell/odor of old litter sand in order to use a new one. Hope it helped to understand why i mixed both new and old litter sand. Thanks for commenting.

I don't think is good idea to mix the dirty cat litter with the clean one. And is not clean or hygienic. Sorry.
Some kittens need to smell the odor of their pee/poo in order the use a new litter box. Ofcourse maintaining a clean litter box is extremely important. Hope it cleared up why I ended using the new sand litter with the old one.

I'm sorry this is stupid you might as well go get a plastic tub fill it with litter and you're way better off they're going to scratch the plastic underneath the litter and it's going to make a huge mess
