9S one came closer to the Japanese version as a dub even tho they sounded so different, yet both captured his personality perfectly. I have mixed feelings for 2B, it sounded exactly how I thought she would sound before I even played it in Japanese and that's a good thing, and the English one you could tell they already tried their best to copy the Japanese one but it just doesn't work because of how English works, there's simply less emotions in English or rather it's able to express coldness better than Japanese. The Japanese sounded like a soft robot and the English sounded like a sassy robot, maybe English Dub just needs to sound a bit more feminine somehow. Either way this is definitely a preference thing, whichever personality people see 2B to have will probably prefer the dub that fits it more.
Japanese 2B sounds a bit like a stereotypical cold anime character (I also can't unhear Mikasa LOL) while the English works better for me as a super advanced android.

In my personal opinion, the English dub feels like the voice actors are doing 'work' with the script(except 9s), but the Japanese dub just makes me feel like I'm watching a movie and synchronized with the characters.......

Im was so glad the English dub for this game was Good. I always want to use JP dub on anime looking games because it just feels right. But I switched to EN dub because there are usually dialogues while mid combat in this game.
Yes! I would recommend it. The sword play/ fighting is amazing plus the game has more than 3 endings. If you like waifus, swords and atmosphere (music/mood) you will like this game. Personally my favorite thing to do is go fishing.
The original language of the creators of entertainment media makes for a more immersive experience. This was made by 'X' people, who speak and behave in an 'X' fashion ('X' in this case being Japanese). The connection between a culture's speech and mannerisms is lost when you slap a dub over the content. Consequently, many dubs of entertainment media are quite jarring to my ears. Some dubs do a decent job, but 99 times out of 100, nothing beats the original.
Damn the English version is so much better than the Japanese version that it's almost not even fair comparing them 😂 9S and 2B just sound like every other anime character I've ever heard. Doesn't help that I've heard yui Ishikawa speak before in violet evergarden and attack on titan. Really hard to give a character a chance at feeling unique when their voice is something you've heard a bazillion times before. 2B just doesn't sound like 2B in Japanese. She sounds like mikasa or Violet. 9S just sounds like a random anime boy. Pod sounds too damn serious. He sounds like HE should be the main character or the villain with that kind of voice. A voice which I've also heard before.
As someone who watches anime almost everyday, 2B and Mikasa sound exactly the same. I love her VA but I truly wish 2B sounds a bit unique and different than Mikasa. I know she could do it but I think she couldn't because that's just naturally her cold stoic voice for stoic characters. 9S in Japanese sounds great it is just a bit high pitched for me. The VA for him also voiced Kaneki and there are some parts where he does sound like Kaneki (not necessarily a bad thing). As for the English cast it helps that I haven't really watched English dubs so I don't recognize their previous characters. They both sound great actually. 9S especially. I think English 9S fits because he's developed to be a curious android; a scanner. He's meant to be with a bit more emotions. That way he's curious and looks for more intel and data. *spoilers* Like there was an ending called the D Ending where he literally abandoned the mission because he was so curious about the machines and he was never found ever since. Lmao
