My piggies love dandelion leaves. When I put them in their outside fence in Summer, they mow the lawn and weed it too. I have to move the fence every few days so they have fresh greens to eat.

That's not right. There are different types of purrs. Some are for dominance displays or fear, but if it happens whenever you pet her it is likely a happiness purr. Listen to clips of different guinea pig noises and their meanings and learn how your piggie communicates
i know you can feed them a lot of fruit and veggies, but my GP's that i used to own when i was a kid seemed quite happy with a diet of pellets, lettuce, cucumbers, carrots and apples. of course a ton of water too to wash things down all day. best pets ever and so easy to look after !

Sorry if this comment is too late. I only feed my guinea pigs red and green leaf lettuce. Too much Calcium may cause bladder stones. Romaine lettuce may be totally fine and not cause any issues, but I prefer to stay on the safe side. Broccoli can cause stomach upsets, but as long as you don't overfeed you should be fine. Again, I'm sorry if this comment is too late.

Yep its been ok for a while now but after additional research we still avoid it due to the calcium content and give them Red Lettuce and Escarole instead

Hi I have just found white spots on my two girl pigs cage! Please help! My pigs have too much calcium in their diet and I don't know where I've gone wrong. I feed meadow hay and a small amount of wheat twizzy farm and oats in the morning with 1 cup cucmber/bell pepper/lettuce and sometimes grapes In the evening I feed the same amount of vegetables with 1/4 cup of burgess excel? Are any of these things high in calcium please let me know?!
You don't really have to chop up celery into small bits like that. I do it so my piggies won't fight over who gets it, but their teeth are incredibly strong. If they couldn't chew down celery strands there's no way they would be eating hay! Bell peppers are also ok to give the entire pepper. The seeds are my piggies favorite part! They often vacuum them up right from the palm of my hand. As long as you're not giving them larger seeds (like the pumpkin) it's not an issue for them to eat.
My little piggies are going to have their birthday and I'm making them their favorite veggie cake that is made of 100% veggies. Carrots for the cake, spinach in between layers and yellow bell peppers for decoration.

In light of the recent e-coli warning in the US we have cut out all Romaine for now. Red and Green leaf lettuce is fine

E.J.M. Productions mine also love the stem and seeds. I've hade no problems with feeding them that part of the pepper.
Sometimes parasites like hanging out in the seed so often people don’t feed them .
E.J.M. Productions Owners chop up celery because a piggy can choke. Seeds also have a choking hazard and may be toxic.
Actually you do want to cut the celery, its to remove the strings which are hard to digest.

My vet said to give fruit or vegetable s as a treat, and to give my piggie vitamin c powder everyday
