To keep the carrying handles in an up position, File some small notches at the twelve o'clock position with a rat tail file. Keep the handle out the way of the door.
Something you all seem to miss is that if you stand the handles up and drop the grill brackets over the handles, the grill will not skate off the top of the stove when you need to pry underneath a stuck burger with a spatula
Great video. I have a firebox stove. Works similarly, and I agree with you in the finish. They ought to use a matte finish because shiny stainless steel doesn’t look good after use. My concern is the durability of it. Firebox is 3X the cost but lasts multiple years of constant use.
But, if you’re looking to cut costs and want a very nice stove, this is a great option.

$20 was a steal!
Stainless steel sheet metal comes with the blue plastic from the sheet manufacturer and protects from getting scratched during manufacture. They leave it on to keep manufacturing costs down and to minimize or remove quality defects and rejects because the goods were scratched. This way you get a lower cost item, and get to take off the plastic and put on your own scratches.

I must have received a prototype. My bottom grate has skewers to sit on. My ash pan was way too small. My husband had to make me a new ash pan because mine needed it for stability. Yours is way better. I paid $2 more from Alibaba.

I bought one of the gasifier stoves from Amazon and it works great but the cooking support is a little sketchy. I like this ordered one today with the bigger cooking area I feel more comfortable with the bigger pans my wife likes to use 😁. Happy wife happy life

Kaylynn Strain actually works better with an alcohol stove when it’s turned upside down.
That is a nice folding stove.
They're great stoves. That one is a Chinese copy of the Robens folding wood stove. It's a bit smaller and lighter but not as strong.
If you look on my channel you see my review of the original Robens stove. I put two cast iron Dutch ovens on mine.

Gabriel Petri nah, if you want quality and durability go for the firebox, if you don’t camp that much then maybe this, I got both fireboxes the 5” and e Nano, bought this to give to a friend, not bad but there’s no comparison with quality.

haha wait, I have a wave of food videos to do this weekend (Freeze dried and Thrive storage stuff). You know how they say you should always eat before you food shop, well I will have to make a warning on my videos to make sure you eat before watching the upcoming videos lol
What are some similar wood stoves that are lighter? Just curious.
You could have also closed the door when you put the burger on to lower/control the fire. The small vent holes and The grease from the burger would have kept the fire going. Just food for thought.
Would like to see a video of how is works with wood pellets. I will test it out myself but always helps to see other reviews.
I have some but did not think to test it, perhaps next time when I do a cooking video I will use pellets in it and see how it works.

Hey there Iridium, the blue plastic ist a protection reason which comes from the material manufacturer. IT is not done by Aoligei :-)
Yeah figured it was for protection, It wasn't horrible just a lot of work to take off.
Just so you know, be glad that you bought this version. In spite of outward appearance, they are not all the same. I bought the Lixada version, and that was a mistake. The ember shelf has bigger holes, which means that you will lose more embers, and it is a separate thing supported by two transverse rods. It is not hinged and does not swing down, so 3 more things to keep up with. I'm returning this one.

I purchased a 7.5 x 7.5 inch s.s . plate from a metal supply shop with 1/8 inch holes in it .I have the larger 5 pound stove.Keeps the coles from falling through the big grate and blowing around the campsite.A great stove . Even better with a few mods.

Its from a local maker here in Nevada, He sets up at gun shows, Its a Damascus steel small neck knife (but its kind of big for a neck knife) I have not used it much so I moved it out into my work area to get some use out of it. I forget the guys name, but he only sells at our local gun shows. I think it was around 50 bucks or so.

Nice little stainless steel wood stove. And, a good price. It is very similar to the 5" stainless steel Firefox stove. Go over to fireboxstove.com and have a look at their stoves. They are much more expensive than the one you just reviewed.
Kalvin Noble yes but this is flimsy, I got this to gift for a friend since he likes my fireboxes and truthfully there’s no comparison. If you don’t camp a lot this will do, just be careful because it comes apart very easily when cooking which never happens in the Fireboxes.

For a minute there I was thinking those were extra large fries don't have my glasses on like how you Cary your salt and pepper I think I'm going to to make my self a hamburger.
There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with that stove. But I think its too big for my Get Home Pack. I have one of those little ESBIT folding stoves in my kit, along with a small stainless cooking pot. The stove, Lighter, Cotton Balls in Vaseline, Fuel Tabs, and matches ALL fit inside the pot.Weight for that entire kit is about 3 Pounds.
Yeah its not a stove for a bug out bag, but for a car camp or just a quick day hike I would take it!
Vaseline cotton balls are one of the best & cheapest fire starters around. They also start immediately with a fire rod. Glad to see that others have caught on. 👍🔥

Hey buddy I am all about gear review videos but I dont get how a bright shiny stove which looks likes it has not been touched has the ability to be boasted over. You need to really use and abuse something to know its real worth if you ask me. I prefer to see a well used stove and hear about that than this shiny untouched one. Does it warp? Does it stick when trying to close after long uses? What does one need to seriously do to keep the grill on top? How about does it rust easily? Does the metal seem to change its gloss to a more solid look do to help he out layer wearing off quickly?
Did you see the use of it in the video? I have used it a bunch more times since then, seems to dull over time, I was not a fan of the shiny metal myself, but no issues with warping or sticking when opening/closing yet. Used it to make myself lunch of to test it, so far its holding up amazingly well. The grill stays on top very well, it kind of fits into the top so there is no worried about it falling off or into the fire.
You see I own a firebox stove which cost about 70 bucks and its well made good quality steel it will rust which made me rethink how I wanted to deal with this some. I also painted it black with high hear paint so as to hold in the heat a bit more. It has a grill I bought with it but found the fire sticks were all I needed as it hold any pan or pot well. The grill however is not so simple to put on as it requires a clipping kinda fixture but then again I found i never really had a need for the grill since I do most any cooking on it on a pan or pot. But also I found that the coleman oven fits perfectly on the stove and can be used together in which I was able to cook pizza in the oven over the firebox stove. That's why I was curious to see what this stove was like.

@@go2yadramah415 Well so far no rust, I always spray it off and let it air dry after use but its Stainless Steel so not showing any signs of rust yet. This is the same size as the Firebox, and I have the Coleman oven as well (the folding one) now you are giving me ideas.. make some pizza, even bake some bannock bread in the oven! When I do reviews most of the time the stuff is brand new, and I use it throughout my videos for a while as well as use it while camping and such, if something breaks I come back and mention it normally but this stove has been working great so far. I will have to try the oven on top!
I just use a Sterno folding stove, $6, and remove the folding front door. Just stick some branches through the front to burn.
I have this stove..i keep it in my car...emergency or just wanna cook lunch at the river..park etc

Hey brother I watch this video when you first published it. I'm not really sure if I commented on it or not. I have this stainless steel folding stove the exact same model actually. Well like you I loved the stove so I saved up and finally bought the titanium firebox 5 inch. Don't get me wrong the firebox stove is very nice BUT IF I AM BEING 100% HONEST I don't think it's worth the money. I have both stoves now and I'm waiting for my scale to come in but the titanium firebox doesn't feel that much lighter than this stainless steel Chinese stove if it's even lighter at all. And I don't even have any accessories for the firebox yet I am just talkin about what comes standard for$150so I'm almost positive once the grill comes in it will weigh more than the stainless steel Chinese stove.not to mention it's $150 for the stove and then you have to pay close to another $50 for the accessories. I think the firebox stove is very nice but I do not think it's worth the moneyI don't know why I haven't seen or heard anybody else doing videos that says this I will be doing one as soon as I get the accessories in
Yeah I watched that video the other day when you got it in! One thing I learned with some things in titanium, the weight difference is so small, you cant even notice it. But hey, the firebox is an excellent stove and will probably last you a lifetime, so you did get a decent stove out of it!

You can turn the grill and the handles will go through the grill and not allow the handles to interfere with the ring latch that opens the door
