the big one is large enough to also warm you at night as a fire pit, that is where it shines.

Just cut those handles off. What do you need them for anyway, just think, you have a very hot fire in that stove, would anyone in their right mind, pick up the stove with those handles? Great video. Many thanks. Happy camping and keep safe everyone.

This design would be fantastic with a few changes. If you're mechanically inclined some of this cheap stuff can be turned into great little pieces of kit. Never get tired of hearing that nice sizzle over an open flame , 7/10.

After your older videos I got one of these in the original size.
Very good for the £20 I paid. Very happy. I did make a change to the bottom grate to make the holes smaller using the wire mesh from a sive.
The big one looks like it could be good to use alongside of it with the whole family.
As the handles no longer work in conjunction with the top grate I'd just cut them off, and repeat the addition to the fire grate.
I prefer butter or lard for my sizzles!
    Great video, marra.

Cut a small groove in the top of one of the handle slots. Make it as wide as the handle so that you can slide the handle in the groove, and it'll stay up. I did that to my Dutch stainless steel cook tins so that I can pour without the pan flopping around, works great.

I have one of these in but the 5 1/2” version….the only problems I have seen with this stove are the users….i love, it works great and I just made one modification. I drilled 4 holes on the side so I can insert skewers and then set my trangia in there and also placed a bottom plate with less holes for to hold wood pellets….
Other than that there are no tricks, no errors in manufacturing… just a lot of user errors….

I'm glad to see you took my advise and got a knife. They are a great tool and not just for cutting with. For example: you could use it to open the door of the stove and move things about in the stove with it.
I would also suggest you get a lightweight pair of suede gardening gloves. These will protect you when playing with fires, I noticed you got zapped by the fire once or twice.
I like steak well done too, must be a Yorkshire thing. Speaking of which; have you never heard of the saying: it'll be reight. You should apply it to the top of the large stove.........

I've had the same stove for a year. I only paid $23 US at the time with the pot attachment. I use it at least once a week and have never experienced any warpage however i would never put the pot top on or try to cook anything for that matter with it roaring like that. I took the front handle off completely it does impeed the door and is unnecessary. There is no substitute for a decent pair of gloves when operating any wood fired stove, but your gloveless technique was comical to watch Thank you for showcasing it.

A simple fix the manufacturer could do to sort out the handle issue is to cut a small square shape, about half inch by half inch and bend it out wards a little bit to create a small hook to rest the handle on to stop it falling down. However, I think that larger stove may be better for a family camping trip. Think it's a bit big for one. Them steaks made my mouth water by the way 😄 I also learned that grass is a great natures brillo pad! Nice little tip that.
