Mark Lewis changed my life. His videos are absolutely TOP notch. The work he puts into his product is obvious by how great it comes out. I'm a 62 yo American female who happened to catch one of his 'above average' videos and for some reason it spoke loudly to me. I went from unable to get to the end of my driveway without panting to running 2-4 miles 95% of the days. My health stats are phenomenal, my mental health is better than ever. Thank you for helping to spread his message. Just be 'above average'. Love it. Love him.
Man I needed to hear this. I'm 53. I got down to 11% body fat, but could never get that last bit of leanness. Tried increasing steps, cutting calories, restricting carbs, and adding cardio. All I ever got was exhausted, discouraged, and feeling like life sucked. Six weeks ago, my doc says my blood tests aren't quite right, most likely due to overtraining, too many supplements, or too much protein. Eesh. I gave up. I thought diet and exercise were supposed to make you healthier, not sicker. I was pushing myself to be the "best version of me I could be", and there I was ready to scrap it all. I've taken six weeks off. I'm softer. I'm tired. And just as discouraged. Then I saw this video. Now I'm inspired to get back on the horse, but focus on the gain, and not the gap. Thanks fellas.
Two guys that always come across as genuine. Being 'below average' is easy, but it's not where the good stuff is found. Keep inspiring people, gents. Some of us are watching closely.
I'm not sure why I clicked on a long video like this, but I'm glad I did. There's a lot of good ideas all the way through. Thanks to you both. ...maybe I clicked on it because of the thumbnail... 🙂
This guy inspires me. I'm turning 35 and was really getting sad about getting older. I'm in good shape but he inspired me to be motivated by my health and fitness and not just merely doing it out of habit. Aiming for a 55 second 400m
Nice honest stuff. I am 60, been doing fitness stuff for 30 years. Motivation definitely goes through seasons so lean on anything that motivates you to get out there. Even Wolverine 😂🙌
Awesome chat guys... saying what most fitness youtubers fear to admit that we all go threw down times think what's the point. Then something out of the blue fires up the belly and you hop back on that wagon. Keep making honest content guys.
@@ferguscrawley95 I hope that means you guys were cooking off camera...that would be very cool, I wonder where your cross over point would meet, athletically speaking.
I first found @marklewis about 3 yrs ago when i was at the height of my fitness journey amd found he was very relatable and i found thst to be a brewth of fresh air with his be above average. Now i can relate further to his story as like him ive fsllen off the wagon amd now starting to return to it. So i really can relate to what he says amd does. Keep it up mark and together we will return to our best vesions of ourselves
It's nice to hear Mark talk openly about why he fell off the training wagon. He said on videos on his channel how he stopped because he "saw the top of the mountain" and was just like "nah I'm alright for this." But it seems it was just a simple case of burnout. It happens to us all at some point.
I think Mark's 10000 challenge was my first video of his, have gone and watched all of his videos from there. His videos have given me more motivation than any other TH-camr. Thanks for what you do.
I've been traing for 34 years.... there's always a period of 2 or 3 months that I dont train. It helps refocusing and repair injuries. Its all about balance.
Really enjoyed that, thanks! I think your foray into the country could produce material for a book, and the thumbnail may make itself clear in the process of the experience.
Hi mark I love how you do your videos , I don’t mind if you script what you say I did wonder how you remember what to say, I find your videos funny, inspiring, and fun to watch
Stewart Lee is so funny, he will do an hour sketch which is just 3 20 minute seemingly disparate rambles then tie it off by connecting it all. He's still funny too, not as dark as he used to be but still my favourite comedian. I find it really inspiring seeing people go from below average to actually excelling. I saw a video on the running channel and someone made the comment that none of the presenters are relatable because they are too good at running. And i was thinking actually TRC has always made an effort to have a broad range of presenters, but some of them due to their environment have become amazing. Sarah is a beast at the marathon now but she wasn't always.
First time iv seen you too together. Mark I knew you would say about that lad beating you running when you said you knew what worked. I think your a inspiration and need to get back to motivational videos. Iv lost my mojo for running and need to get back into it with your help

Alright! Two voices of reason in the fitness industry joining up. 100% certain I'm going to enjoy this!
Hope you enjoy the episode Arjan.
@@themodernmind Absolutely did!
EXACTLY my thought. The top 2 fitness voices for me

I appreciate Mark scripting his videos - I've come to dislike people jabbering on with no direction or point!

Thanks Guy! Glad you enjoyed the episode.
Two of my favourite YT's. Could have listened to this all day.
Great to hear you enjoyed the episode. Thanks for the support 🙌
Thoroughly enjoyed this one 🤝

The two guys who inspired me most over last two years and provided many laughs on the way.
Very cool to hear, hope you enjoy the episode!

Great to hear that Mark has helped you get back into health and fitness. Best of luck with your training for the 400m.
Mark, I got into Zwift racing because of you. You’re a great inspiration!

Glad you enjoyed the episode Mike 🙌
This man is so authentic! I recently found his channel and its boss. Keep it going big man!
Mark, I'm never watching your video because of the thumbnail, I'm watching because of your personal brand.
But he needs new people to watch and if a good thumbnail and title makes it happen then good for him

Thanks Chris, glad you enjoyed the episode.
These guys deserve a huge platform. Great episode, love both your work Fergus and Mark. Great stuff 👏🏻
You could say that about millions of other channels it's just not going to happen. Why because of the toxic nature of the fitness industry.
Glad you enjoyed the episode Ryan and appreciate the feedback.
Noooo wayyyyy Mark x Fergus podcast. Two of my favorites 🎉 Couldn’t believe the thumbnail!
Word for word that's exactly what I said 😂 can't believe I have somehow missed a first meeting of these 2
We should probably get together for a proper TH-cam video huh..?
@@ferguscrawley95 I hope that means you guys were cooking off camera...that would be very cool, I wonder where your cross over point would meet, athletically speaking.
The collab we've all been waiting for!
Hope you enjoyed the episode.

Looking forward to the Beau Miles of the UK. Great episode.

How has this podcast not got way more views and subs?!?
Appreciate it George. Hopefully more people can like, share and get the word out.

I love Mark even more, now I know he loves Stewart Lee
Great episode! Couldn’t get it to play in podcasts but TH-cam is fine
Thanks Renee, glad you enjoyed the episode. Not sure why it didn't play in the first place, but pleased you got it to work.
@@themodernmind Thanks Fergus, I’m not sure if it’s an actual internet connection issue, it happens occasionally with other podcasts too.

I love that Mark is finally able to live his Rocky 4 dream by getting fit in a barn. 😂😂😂
The White lycra onesie has been ordered 😂
Would love to see Mark tackle an ultra-cycling endeavour (Tour des Stations et all)
Fred Whitton. Can a guy that size do it? Now that would be above average.
@@FoobsTon pretty sure he can yes, would make for great content mind :)

The Stewart Lee reference was an unexpected bonus - podcast appearance coming soon?
One can dream 😂
Big fan of Marks work, even more so as a fellow Stewart Lee fan 👏
Mark Lewis gives it to you straight, like pear cider that’s made with 100% pears.

Jump cuts are really crap 😅 I'm following Fordy runs. Why. I know he's rushed for time etc. Probably copying Philly
Yeah, but is TRT as bad as Cake?
You need to ask Noel Edmonds 😂
TRT is real but Cake is a made up drug.

I think that means you should go to therapy.
