I gave you a thumbs up because not only did you upload a video that most want to see, you also used words and talked about mechanical leverage in terms that the majority of the people watching this video won’t understand. I understood what you said and I appreciate someone who “gets it” where suspension comes into play.
As do I
Crawling community knows what's up 💪
I've also seen people use hockey pucks, very informative young lad Cheers!!!
Have used some hockey pucks but like how these fit more and custom height
Great channel you have here, I subbed. Checkout ours sometime when you get a chance for a good laugh
Old video i know but just installed 1.5 inch spacer on my foreman 500 doing same method. Had to shim out the inside of the pipe abit to fit over my shock but worked perfectly thanks for the video
4:06 It works great to make pay load much higher and didn't really effect the ride .
I did it on my single rear shock on my 2021 Honda 420 rancher
Can u do an installation video man
You can even start with an 11/2" pvc pressure coupling they are about a 1/2" longer and if you get a slip coupling they do not have a stop in them so the pipe can be a solid piece.
Hey man good video. My question is the coupling I got are for 1 1/2 sch 40. But it Measures two and three-quarter on the outside is this correct?
Hey Christian. Thanks for the cheap lift tip.
Just picked up a new 2016 500 Rubicon (exact same quad - manual shift and all - what I prefer in any machine). Was considering a High Lifter lift kit, but for $100 +, I am going to try your trick first. Only want a slight lift, so, I am going to try a 3/4 inch spacer and see where the bike will sit. Not looking for a super lift as I am only running 26" Slingshot tires, plus, I still would like to have a bit of a softer ride.
Thanks again, will let you know how it works out.
All the best, and keep up the excellent videos. You are the best promoter for Honda I have see so far. They should be paying you a commission.
hey man just wondering if you did this. I also have a 2016 rubicon and im thinking about doing this
+fishermankdk
Never tried it yet as with the 26" Slingshot Tires, the bike has adequate ride height for the riding I have been doing thus far. However, I will be keeping this in mind for if my riding changes. Have the bike set at the 2nd softest setting on the spring pre-loading as I find this the best setting for the tires.
Is it possible to just find a shock that is 1/1/2 inches longer than the shock you have on it to raise it up?.... I have a 86 trx350 so the shock would have to be upgraded anyways
On a 350 probably
Can I do this to lift a little to a 2001 kawasaki bayou 220? I'd love to lift it so that I can install bigger tires. Thanks, nice tutorial!
Thanks man!! Just got a Honda Recon and planning on putting new bigger tires, so i would just add the spacer to each shock? No additional brackets needed?
Thank man 🤙🏼
Yo!!! I'm dizzy AF!
My question is would this same setup work on a pioneer500? Not really ready to drop $2800 on long travel arched a-arms.
Nope. It has no down travel to spare
You rotate that camera 1000 times
Wow! Thanks for counting
Do u need compress the springs at to get strut back together
That's the right way to do it. I usually use ratchet straps
Rumour has it this guy now designs NASA shuttles.
Close lol
What would happen if you put these on a solid rear on a Honda foreman? Mine still has coil overs but would it have a shitting dog appearance since the front is independent
How did the PVC lift work out for you? Want to add it to my 2021 rancher. Thanks
doing it tomorrow on my p500
how did it work for u
@@212poncho how did it do
R.I.P. cv angles
I’m putting a high lifter 2” and one of these 😂 homemade catvos boys 😂😂
Gonna be a stiff sob
Mud Puppy and I’ll probably break a lot of axles now that I think about it
@@shane.songer2564 axles?
really hope you do a install
My rear shocks seem to be wore out ...if you sit on the bike it goes down but when you get off you can pull up on the rear rack and it will come back up should I get a set of shocks and springs before I put the obviously spacers on it
I'd have to ride it that is not nearly enough to go off of
+Mud Puppy I guess what I'm saying is if you stand at the front and put weight on the front end you can press it down and it will spring back up but my back won't up it just stays compressed Down so I think my rear shocks are bad
Can you make a video on how to put the spacers on the shocks
How is it holding up with the pvc Cristian Amy
It's been working really well haven't had any issues with apples I have ran up to 31 wides I'll be testing it on 32.5 mambos this weekend
I have a Camso t4s track kit that I put on my 2016 rubicon in the winter for deep snow riding, how would those spacers affect the use of the tracks? Or would I need to take them out when I’ve got the tracks on my rubi? Also, I would like to buy a 35% reduction from you, please get at me for that order...maybe the arched a arms also.
I'm doing a one-week tour and I got about a hundred and fifty pounds of gear on the back plus me which is 180... so my quad is sitting pretty low can you suggest a total height for making the spacer to help pick up rear, I'm not doing this for a lift purposes but more to stiffen the spring and keep the rear up higher so I don't potentially bottom out and so I don't lose steering ... With the gear on it dropped bout 2.5 inches it I'm going up in 2 weekends so next weekend is the only time I got time to do it
How do you take the spring off?? You should do a video of that.
I'm pretty sure I have one of those on here somewhere the cheapest and easiest way is to just use ratchet straps and a vise
I have a honda 300, I bought new tires and tires are to close to muffler, will this give it enough lift to clear muffler
The inside diameter was to small so what do I need to change on my 2009 Honda rancher 420
You been cool if you did I after you got it all done video see what it would look like cuz I'm fixing to do some of these on my Honda Rincon so I can clear 26s or 27s and is it at all I got to do is just put those on top of the springs and it'll lift it I don't have to change anything else should Iaftermarket lift kit so I can get the bolts and hardware out of it to use with the PVC or do I just stick to PVC in there and run when I got factory
Sorry I'm a little lost , so your not lengthening the shock at all just stiffing up the spring witch reduces sag ?
yeah...
the bracket lift doesn't really give anymore down travel either just moves the stocks outwards making it stiffer same affect as adding spacers
Just bought a 17 foreman sra and would this work for the back shock as well??
Lol the secret is out. i also use the shock extenders from autozone
Ok thanks I'll have to try that on my 300
Already have a 2" bracket lift ordered for my 2015 rubicon would this be more efficient? Or could i just do the bracket lift then another inch spacer on the the 2 front shocks to have more of a leveled bike
+Luke Fontenot the bracket kit alone will make it ride pretty stiff
+Luke Fontenot also the bracket kit gives you way more rear lift than front. I wouldn't do a spacer but you could mess with the preload
+Christian Amy yea id like the front to sut higher than the rear but i know the bracket will lift the rear more
+Luke Fontenot the way the axles are designed the fronts are almost maxed out from the factory whereas the backs have a good bit more down travel
I have 2020 rancher with 2 inch bracket lift and I was wondering if the front can handle the spacer in combination..I'm pretty sure the rear SRA can though. Just not sure if the front axles can.
So do you think it will work on my 2000 350 honda fourtrax rancher that has the swing arm on a single shock
Yep. Gonna ride rough
2011 Honda foreman straight axle will it work on it
I’m assuming this would work if I want to do this on the front and back of my 2004 fourtrax AT ? 2 shocks in the front and 1 in back
I'm going to assume the same thing but I'd like to know as well lol 😆
What size pvc pipe would I ned to
Put a lift on a Kawasaki bayou 250?
Measure the outside diameter of you shock. That will be the inside diameter of the PVC
What’s a good meathod like this for a grizzly 660
Can I do a lift just to the rear on my 06 rubicon? I want to do it more so to stiffen the rear suspension.
Pls make a vid to install this
great informative video thanks for posting
Did it to my 2014 Honda Rincon made a ride like a dump truck but they give you two in
hey on a 2016 honda Rubicon do you have to change out the shocks on your ATV to do this kind of lift
+Paul Crews no
+Paul Crews no
Will this work on a 97 400 Forman
How’d it hold up?
Great video.
Do you know if the 1 1/2” coupling work on rincon shocks?
+tstoute82 I'm pretty sure it does. Definitely the fronts
Do you do the same thing to the back socks
Could I also use this for a Yamaha kodiak
Going to try it on my 02 TRX 350
Sonny Landry i have a 03 rancher & would love to see an i stall video
Hey I have a Honda rincon 680 and I want to order a steel spacer lift like that but steel and the picture looks very tight on the shock it dosent look loose at all so Gould I get it?
did you use gas shoks
Ok thx I'll get the pipe tomorrow then and straps
Dammit man I'm dizzy 😂😂
Will it work on 350 rancher
Smart fella
would this piping fit a honda rancher 350
And so you know how I could be getting water in my oil when I'm in deep water and my crank vent is. Not ran
Thanks
Can I use it on a 2012 Honda Foreman 450
What about a Kawasaki 360? 08-09
Will this work on a 2009 foreman straight axel
how big of a spacer do u recommend for a sportsman 850 with no lift kit?
+Brandon Johnson no experience with those. Swapping on HL shocks is a good mod for a mud bike
good idea, thanks
Will it work on the back of my 98 Honda 300 rear shock? Plz reply
think so it'll be harder need to good straps
maybe need bigger pipe for the spacer I put a different shock on my 300 so not sure
+Christian Amy ok I'll check is there a vid up on how to tear a shock like mine down?
+Mud Puppy (MudPuppy) can I do this on a 1990 fourtrax front and back and I already have about a 1.5 inch lift on the bottom of the front shock and about 3 on the rear at the bottom
@@basskid-lz3io how did you do the rear shock
good video thanks
Would it work on a 2000 foreman 450es
Do you still have this on the bike? 1yr later
+jrivero512 a buddy does
will this work on a 2016 kodiak 700
do you need a shock compressor for it
Did you even watch the video...
yes i’m still a little confused
Would this work on a 05 rancher 400?
will this trick work on a solid axle rancher
Peyton Greene yes but it won’t give you more ground clearance
Yes everyone you can do this on your sra
Would this work on a suziki eieger ?
Would this work on a 2007 honda rancher 420?
Will this work for pioneer 700 sxs
could you do this if you have a bracket lift?
yeah may increase axle wear though
This should work on a 350d correct??
Nope those stock shocks are super tiny
will this work on my 1995 suzuki king quad 300?
not sure on my king quad 300 I weld it on a small bracket lift
do you have pics or anything? i was thinking about it and im not sure how high i can go
it was years ago. rear suspension doesn't handle lifts well
my rear shocks are fucked anyways
the single a arm design puts camber way off
Can u do this lift on a Honda 300 4x4
On a rancher cause Idk if you can on a swing arm suspension
I’ll try it mine needs a lift
i want to try this
Will this work on a 2005 Honda rancher?
did u ever try it?
Would this work for the front of an 01 350 rancher
yeah
Does this work on older models like 96
On the front it should
It wouldn’t work on a 420 rancher es would it? Cuz of the the straight axle at the back
Course it would! why not? Just one spacer instead of 2. Im probably gunna do this on my fourtrax 400 and its a solid rear axle
Mudpuppy could I do this on a rincon 680?
Yes
Mud Puppy rincon 680 or Rubicon 500 as a mud bike?
Would this work on a 400ex?
+Nikolai Fontan I'm not quite sure why you want to lift the front of a 400EX but yes it will work with 400EX front shocks did that on my 300
Would it work on a Kawasaki prarie 360?
I'm sure some size PVC would not familiar with that bike at all
+Mud Puppy how about metal pipeing?
if you can find the right size sure. PVC is easier and plenty stong
Can you do this on a Honda rancher 350?
any...
how did you get the spring off
John Swearingen I was wondering the same thing
How do u get spring off. ?
John Swearingen I tied a strong piece of mule tape around the top and bottom of the spring and put a big screwdriver in the mule tape and twisted it until it squeezed the spring together enough to get the clip out. If you've ever seen Shanghai express or whatever the western Jackie Chan movie is..he doea.this to get out of jail with a shirt around the bars of the cell...
lmfao that was the funniest thing ive read
You need a spring compressor. It's really unsafe if you don't know what you're doing
i did this and it did not fit a 2014 honda foreman rear shock - shock was to wide
Yep only works for independent shocks. Ive used bigger pipe for my ear shocks though
well okay install it and take another video have riding for 1 year and I wanna see the spacer
Lol it's been on all my bikes for years... Including the rzr
Mud Puppy can you make a updated video about it to show how well they are holding up
Your a fan off harbor freight I see
does this work on polaris 850
Something like this would not sure what pipe you'll need
Can I do this on a 200 type 2 ?
No idea. Some of the old Hondas don't use an upper spring keeper you have to actually unscrew the upper bushing kind of a pain
WIll this work on a honda 300?
Yes
First rate!
Anybody ever put a 2 inch instead of the one and a half
