Canada Geese Preening Their Feathers In a Lake Enjoying The Sunshine

Two Canada Geese were preening their feathers while standing in shallow water in a lake standing on submerged rocks. Other birds were passing the two Canada Geese while cleaning and straightening their feathers. A couple of Gulls, Ducks, and Canada Geese were swimming by. All of the Birds were enjoying the sunshine on a hot summer afternoon.
Birds often preen their feathers when they feel safe. If a bird preens or preens itself, it cleans and arranges its feathers using its beak, which is usually used to describe cleaning behavior in birds.
