    I LOVE how your mom understood what YOU wanted for YOUR child and helped you with sleep regression. Most grandparents would say “aww just let her stay up with me. I’ll watch her/him”. Although that’s nice and might be helping moms at that moment, but they don’t know it’ll cause domino affects😭

      Right, grandma of the year! My mother in law is totally unsupportive with anything I want to do with my baby. She argues with me and thinks she knows best, basically refusing to respect what I want to do at all. Smh.

    Oh my! I’m in the middle of two years sleep regression. It’s nice to see this video. Because I feel like everyone who has older kids has forgotten this part and is super judge mental on me and my kids. I was thinking “ it’s called the terrible twos but my kid is the only kid who’s ever gone through it”. This is so much hard than school and works.

    If you ever have questions or need advice on how to help a child through almost any transition, especially sleeping, talk to a daycare or childcare provider! As a former toddler teacher and current nanny, I learned so many tips and tricks from my lead or assistant teacher that aided in me getting 12 two-year-olds to sleep in 20 minutes every day. Many of us have 10+ years of experience in early childhood education or development and continue to pass down what works to new parents or providers in the field!

    You hit again!!! Actually living a sleep progression/regretion right now it's been HARD. My daughter is 17month and having major anxiety separation, she's saying no when we say it's naptime/bedtime. Screaming her lungs out if we go out the room. I've lost my patience a lot more than I'd like to admit. But for now we're bouncing/cuddling so she let go and kind of fall asleep then transfer her to bed where she usually cries a little but we're saying we're staying with you until you fall asleep and it' s working. So its true we definetly do what works for our child and try to navigate each progressions. On the good note we noticed she's been saying so mucj words now! Parenting is hard! Glad you do this raw honest content ❤️

  • @daniellerodriques
    @daniellerodriques 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    When you said the 2 year sleep regression was the hardest….🙌🏼amen. My 22 month old has been putting me through it let me tell you. Going from sleeping through the night and 1.5 hour naps to 30 min naps and constant night wakings, screaming bloody murder until we put him in bed with us 🥲 Thanks for this video, I’ve been doing nearly all of parenting (2 under 2 😩) without the help of family, just my husband and I. The topic of sleep is so painful to me, I SO relate!!! We are getting through it and learning to remain positive, just trying to stay mindful that it’s not forever ♥️

    I tried for over a year to get my daughter to sleep alone in her crib. she was not having it so i had to pivot. we met half way and i " side car- ed" her crib to my bed. it changed our lives, she instantly started sleeping thru the night. we still have blips but going from her waking up 20x a night to maybe once was a lifesaver.

    • @bcortes4060
      @bcortes4060 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      This! Sleeping alone is actually very unusual for babies. Most babies that do have been left alone to cry for segments of time. Some of us do not agree with that strategy and we need to normalize normal infant and toddler sleep as well as bedsharing in various ways. Thanks for this comment.

    • @leenymick7745
      @leenymick7745 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bcortes4060 omg yes! Here in America sleep training is shoved down your throat and taking Cara babies is so freaking popular. Not for me! I cannot stand to see my baby cry. They aren't trying to manipulate you and you can't spoil a baby with love. That is just ridiculous. The woman who got me thru it was Sarah Ockwell Smith. Once i saw her videos it was like omg why did i let everyone tell me how i should be doing this instead of just listening to my baby and what she was telling me all along!

    This video was so helpful! I’ve been watching your videos for a couple of months now and although my babe is only 4.5 months old, I still find them so helpful and truly inspiring as I too am I single mom👩‍👦my babe just went through the 4 month sleep regression and is now slowly starting to come out to the other side. What helped me was sticking to the same routine for bedtime and allowed contact naps when I could or if I couldn’t put him down and if he woke up i would just allow for more naps for the day and took to his sleepy cues the best I could so he wouldn’t get overtired. I also transitioned into a sleep sac instead of a swaddle which helped make him more comfortable. When the worst of it happened I did co sleep and now we are very slowly transitioning into him in his own bed! Thanks for being the best mama to look up to and keep doing such a great job mama! Much love from a first time boy mom💙💕

It’s been an interesting month: the little one is getting giant molars that are so painful, and the older one is suddenly afraid of the dark! Loved the video! I am about to have my 1st baby in December and I have no idea what the heck I'm doing so it was awesome to watch this video and get an understanding of what is to come and your tips and explanations. Nobody has really told me any of this stuff so I don't even really know what to expect. I will definately be trying these things, and at the very least I have somewhere to start. I've been especially anxious about baby sleep because I am a full time college student so I am already busy af with that, and we have all heard the horror stories. Lord have mercy on me, please give me a chill baby😂🙏😞

    We got rid of the floorbed when our daughter hit the 2year sleep regression. She was very verbal, and cried She Just couldn't stay in bed. I asked her if She wanted to be in the travel cot for naps, so She was contained. She said yes. Ofc She could have climbed out, but never did. Too exausted. She Just Needed a bit of confinement. That symbol of a limit. She slept in the travel cot and then a beautiful fleamarket bed with High sides until 4years old. Until She could fit, basically. She has never come out of the room since.

    Thank you! You just gave me the idea of always doing the same activity before bedtime as a cue. We don't do bath everyday because my son has eczema, so I think the days we don't he gets a bit confused, although after we start the bedtime routine he understands and sleeps very well. Also, quick question, when you transitioned out of the sleep sack, was Arrow moving around a lot? My 13 months moves so much that I can't see him staying under the blankets.

    My daughter turns 2 in November but I'm wondering if this is what is going on with her now cause almost nightly for the past week or so she has been FIGHTING me to go to bed. We cosleep. She still nurses to sleep because that is something that has been important to me. *Sometimes* she will go to sleep being rocked and carried with her head on your shoulder. I am going to wean when she turns 2. But she fights me for an hour at least every night now. It's screaming and flailing and thrashing her body until she gets to get down and do what she wants. Which is usually playing. She goes to bed easier the days she doesn't nap and if she does nap I know it's going to be a fight at bedtime. But I know naps are important and I can't prevent her from napping, especially if it's one she does on her own in the car or something. I don't know what to do and I'm completely exhausted.

    I'm shocked she just walked to bed. My son been challenging at bedtimes and resist at 7 months old. He's usually been ok with me but other people he'd be jumping up and down in his cot. Smiling, laughing etc... this was when he started childcare. I could just walk out of the room and he'd settle down. They couldn't so he'd try and play with them. Sleep time difficulties has gotten worse at 2 years even a few months beforehand. Sigh... I give so much choice I feel during the day. Guess that's just him.
