  • In this week's video, Why Californians are moving to Prescott, AZ, we'll dive into 7 reasons we think they're coming here. California over the last few years has seen the largest out of state migration ever. But why are they drawn to this mountain town in Northern Arizona? Here's just a few thoughts of why.
**NOTE** WE ARE NOT FROM CA. Nothing against Californians, but Both Shawn & Tiffany and I were born just a few hours north of Prescott in a small town of Henderson, NV and first moved to AZ in 1996. While we've lived in several areas and states in our adult lives, we've always considered AZ our HOME even thought we weren't born here :)

Always love your content. I’ve been a CA cop for 23 years and my wife and I are one them. We bought our second home in PV back in May of 2022 with the intent of fully retiring there in the next 2 years. We planned ahead. I’ve lived in CA for the last 36 years and I’ve seen this once Great State become overrun with homelessness, high crime, increases in taxes, cost of living, gas, housing and constant restrictions. If it’s not one thing it’s another. When we make our final move, we will continue to support and respect the people of AZ who’ve made it what it is today.

@@Bornagain7202 I agree with this 100%! No one tells you this. Very few doctors are accepting new patients so you end up with whatever office will take you vs being able to choose the doctor you want. And you will wait months for that appointment. It's way different than CA.

The truth is the rest of the country saw California on the tv and in the movies for the last 75 years. They came, and along with wealthy foreigners priced out the locals and ruined what was once a great place to live. The newcomers also brought their voting habits with them. I moved out of CA 20 years ago because I saw it was a failing state. So my sympathy is limited when the rest of the country is hostile to and complains about Californians moving in. You all are getting exactly what you gave CA for the last 75 or more years that forced me to uproot my life and move from my home. I am looking at AZ for retirement. I want to be friendly and neighborly and part of the community. But for those that want to hate on Californians and be hostile, that’s unfortunate but we can do it your way too. I much prefer the former.

In California my market was one block away and others were 1-3 miles away. All of my doctors were within 10 miles and I could see any expert specialist without a referral in Los Angeles. Right on! Wish I'd done my homework. Do not come here if you have medical problem. You will be driving the 17 at 90 miles an hour to keep up with traffic to see a doctor in Phoenix or perhaps Scottsdale or Flagstaff. I have spoken to two people since I moved here that had horrible problems from surgery here and had to see doctors out of state for repair. I only see doctors here for the most basic stuff and just see whoever is available because a doctor appt takes 4-6 months. It is a money saving state but you'd better evaluate how much it will actually cost you to move. If you are older you may never get that money back
