Love Wolf Alice , Original & Unique , Killer live Band and just the greatest people you could meet … Blue Weekend is an album that just gets better with every listen
I was just told about this album in early December, after seeing it rise up in critics' year-end lists. It's very solid and Ellie's voice elevates it all. Hope we see even more growth on their next one. A mainstream breakthrough, in a big way, is imminent. Good job with the interview Jon Hart.
I just discovered the album recently. Was on the bus the other day and was so moved by the songs that I wanted to share them with everyone. LOL I'm hearing particular 'influences' the more I listen. Beatles, Pink Floyd, Wings, Keane off the top of my head. It's a blisteringly fantastic album, but as I explore more of their previous work, it's really feeling like these songs were complete departures for them. Am I right in thinking this?
Absolutely. The earlier stuff was more hard rock nineties type of music. Off of the new albumI hear The Beatles and Floyd Influence coming off of the songs as well.
@@23Nemesis Just realized a Tori Amos moment or two, yesterday. And as an addendum, I've been trying to figure out what descriptive is appropriate for 'Blue Weekend'. Over the past three years, I've been blown away by about a half a dozen releases, and have been able to eventually come up with the right one for each. In this instance, think I've settled on 'glorious'.
I’d love to hear some of the other songs that Ellie didn’t go back to…. In the 80s we had bootlegs where those songs turned up . Usually a vinyl record or tape where the song titles are guessed . Bands didn’t mind bootlegs too much because they were bought by those that had already spent money on all of the official releases . So come on…. Somebody pinch the master tapes and get a box set pressed , it would no doubt be delightful…. Anything from these four couldn’t be anything else .
Do you not realize that they aren't even in the same room? She literally cannot make eye contact. You can't make eye contact with someone who is not physically in the same place with you.
She's a treasure. Best thing is she doesn't realise how damned talented she is - extraordinary, but don't tell her that

I remember watching your interview with first aid kit a few years ago. Your a very good interviewer and always ask interesting questions.

Ellie, why do you lack eye contact when talking to people ?
introverted, self conscious, shy, socially awkward, are a few reasons that come ro mind
