No two strokes can't stand the cold they perform well when it around 70 degrees Yamaha yz 85cc are great bikes i have 2 250 cc 2 strokes l luv riding my small bikes there so funny have 3 85cc bike's turned 2 of them into a super mini two yz 85cc turned too a big bore kit now its a 105cc super mini pr2 racing motor its super quick it will out run a 125cc than I turned the other yz 85cc too a 112 super mini the same way I done the other one its awesome wants too stand up in every gear it has than turned the kx 85cc into a 112 super mini awesome two strokes then I have a rn250cc and a kx 250cc before you no it over 3 thousand dollars in just one bike but the power of them are unreal both have racing heads one gold and one blue

You'd be ok with it. Theres nothing wrong with having some extra leg length depending on the type of riding you're doing. I'm going to leave Liam on the 85 for awhile before we get a 125.
...He's amazing on it but he also had a bad crash recently, I posted it a couple weeks ago and for it being his 3rd or 4th time on the bike he was great but the faster you go the higher the risk
He wants to upgrade it but I told him wait a year or so and get the tip overs out of your system. I would be worried he would get a new pipe then dent it

We just went to South Dakota or pick mine up. Well we didn’t get the same deal, the bike was used, but the guy who bought it got it for his son and it was to big for him so they brought it back. Bought in December brought it back in January. And now we have it. It’s really fun. Keep doing what you do.

My 9 year olds 1st bike was a yz 85. I got a 2006 for free in pieces and then we rebuilt it. It screams and he loves it.
85 is an odd place to start a first timer on but fair enough 😂

It’s a fairly large upgrade. If you can control your throttle you’ll be ok but it’s a substantial jump
