"This pawn chain is not good for their bishop." Proceeds to break up the pawn chain on same move, and that bishop takes his queen on the long diagonal. 😂😂
As a fellow ~1500 player nice eyes on the idea of that knight sack! I didn’t see that. Just watch your time, seems like that was were you got into trouble! Love your videos!
I like this. Not too long intro. Mostly i just enjoy the gameplay and your thoughts patrick, actually even the piano music is too loud for my taste. Anyway do ur thing as u like, i hope others like it too! I cheer for ur chess play
Tough game. Closed sicilian/grand prix are my favorite games to play because they never seem to end in draws. Couple of mistake here led to your downfall. 1. First off you started the game out poorly with how slow you were moving. I actually had to rewind because I was a little incredulous on what happened. At 4:53 you kicked out their night and had 9 minutes and 11 seconds on the clock. They spent three seconds moving it and you proceeded to take 3 minutes!!! to play Qg3. This is not the first time you have played this opening. Moving the queen to the kings side is one of the key ideas and should be almost automatic at points. You can't blame low time for blunders at the end when you waste a whole blitz game on one move to start the game. You spend so much time on positional moves only to be rushed during the tactical moments of the game where you end up blundering. 2. You also chose to go with the plan to blow up the kings side with you h pawn push which is fine idea. However all of your pieces were away from the kings side leaving you exposed with no attack. You then never got a piece past the e-file where you were trying to concentrate your attack. Think about what squares your pieces would like to be when you are attacking. Your knight on d4 was doing a good job attacking the pawn you thought about sacrificing, but if was on g5, only two hops away, it would be attacking that same pawn and letting your queen infiltrate on h7. 3. You said your bishop wasn't doing anything on its home square which in most cases is true, but in this case you weren't doing anything on the queen side and it was staring perfectly at the kings side. If you were ever able to set up f5 it would come alive and be an extremely strong piece. On the other hand, their light square bishop was in limbo staring at its own pawns with no real way to break out, until you pushed your b pawn hoping they would take right away so you could push your plan through. They instead took their time and rearranged their pieces because you had no attack with all of your pieces in the quadrant as far away from the king as possible and only took when it was beneficial opening up their bishop which eventually grabbed your queen. 4. Finally that same pawn moved opened up the c file. When you dont know what to do, you should automatically try to take open files with your rooks. You didn't and played a weakening pawn move instead with no threat. This let them pin your bishop, double up and eventually lost you the game. This was at least a fight and the blunder didn't come until time trouble, but these are all things you need to grasp if you want to even get back to 1500. 3 minutes might be a new record for you in a single move. Don't rush your moves but play with a sense of urgency in a positional board, and take your time when it starts to get tactical.
Head up. These games happen. This was me last night tanking my rating 60 points. NOTHING went my way and I felt like my opponents were always a step ahead of me. This is all after having just won a local tournament 2 days prior 🤷♂️
When you burn a minute to try to come up with an intricate sacrifice you are like a pilot who normally flies a Cessna wanting to fly a 747. If you want more time, then cease even thinking about sacs as WELL as sacking any exchanges. This will free you. I just gave 2 minutes extra per game.
Are you playing on a Macbook pro or a desktop 27" iMac? I'm asking because a wider screen might be the reason you might be missing pieces on the side of the board.
Once you moved pawn to f4 it never moved the whole game. It was blocking Bc1's range on the king side for the whole game. Just something I noticed, hope it's helpful. I don't think you caught it in the analysis. Keep on truckin' - 1400's are tough - You will get there!!!
You should start doing calculation training, or do puzzles but do not move pieces until you see the entire sequence in your head. Your visualization and calculation skills are holding you back!
At your level, I think you should be very careful about throwing your pawns forward without a clear plan. This seems like one of your most common mistakes.
Like a car crash on a highway, I want to look away but my curiosity won't let me.
The video editing at the beginning is superb.

It's pointless playing 10-minute games if you're not prepared to move every 15 seconds or so.
How you mean?
At 19:00 you had Nxe6
Nice!!
He even considered it only to discard it after not giving it any thought
what's the continuation? Do you get more than 2 pawns for the piece? Edit: Ahh, just saw the black light squared bishop hanging on a6

Love your videos, Patrick! Keep it up! :)
Thank you so much! It means a lot!
This silver lining here is that you can save time by not having to show the blunder flashback at the start of the videos ;) Happy holidays Patto!

22:10 Botez Gambit main line
We get no bed flop for a queen sacrifice?? I feel cheated.
He needs to keep the bed cleared for such purposes.
Watching that bullet game was a mistake. It made my elo go down to 100.
It's the old bishop spying from afar blunder. Those are hard to see sometimes.

It happens in time pressure, don't feel sad, i also have made many like this, keep going

Patrick, the genius!!
Ask if any viewers are 1600 or 1700. See if they'll play you regularly, you'll learn so much more than playing mid 1400s.

Just got to say, 2/1 is still bullet...

it's not the first time you've faced this player!
your ating went down from last episode, did you play more games?
he doesnt play daily.... he posts daily... his title is misleading.
But he won yesterday??
I guess the game was so bad he decided not to post it? Must be a juicy one. Maybe I'll check it out on his profile.
Get a chess coach, who is a grandmaster you will improve tons
Bro van better play bullet
can we have time stamps please?
you're a packers fan? aren't you from sf? lol
I know Packers fans who have never been to Wisconsin.
