Thank you! Again, you are echoing many of my thoughts this year. Consider Saul->Paul and Alma (both the Else and the Younger) - their sins were grievous, but we're forgiven once they embraced Faith in Jesus Christ and sought Mercy. Elder Kearon beautifully taught that it is God's Intent (and plan) to save, rescue, and redeem all His children. Not just me. Not just you. Everyone. He is mighty to save. I wonder if, in a coming day - when He comes in glory and Every knee shall bow and tongue confess - if we will see many fall to the Earth like Alma the Younger and his companions, knowing they have rebelled against God and His Son - and gave the choice Alma had: to repent and cry out for mercy and forgiveness or waste away to be taught on the other side of the veil of the gospel of Jesus. God's Intent is to see His children become like Him. Why oh why do we think He will only win with a relatively few?
Im so thankfull for your classes Brother Bryce you have a gift I have a class request for you about Jesus 40 days of fasting, I think that somehow you will manage to explain to us how was He able to achive that, because I still haven't understand how can anyone survive for that long period of time, im sure that you will amaze us whit your point of view on that subject. Grettings from Cancún Mex.
Thank you Victor. Man! I would love to come visit CanCún. It is unfair how beautiful Heavenly Father made that little corner of this glorious earth. I don’t know if I have an amazing answer, but a rather a simple one. Jesus was the master of balance. He who command us to not “run faster than we have strength” would certainly follow His counsel. There is a balance between the privation that humbles the soul and reminds us of our need for God and privation that harms the body and interferes with its functions and thus interferes with the spirit that it houses. I am positive that Jesus went without sufficiently to accomplish the first, but not so much had He caused harm to his physical body, the instrument of his spirit.
Whatever you are doing that’s keeping him at a distance or pushing him away, stop doing. In those moments when you feel him at your doorstep, you don’t let the walls come up. You don’t let the barriers stop him from fully being part of you. You embrace him. With all your imperfections. You hold nothing back. You know he knows everything and you just embrace that. I don’t necessarily pray to him, but I kind of speak to him in my mind and in my heart. I’ve learned not to hold back in those conversations. I used to find myself speaking at him, but not giving him time to speak to me. That’s where the wall was up. Now I fully embrace him and let him speak to me Just as much as I speak to him.
@ But don’t we all - I’m near the front of the line- all continue to sin? I was baptized as an adult in ‘96. I’m still fighting sins ( none horribly grievous ) I’ve prayed, fasted, and asked for blessings to help me stop. I sure appreciate you taking time to respond.
Yep! That’s why we repent daily. There is no expectation that we are free of sin. The room will always be messy. Just don’t wait until the room is clean before you let him in

What’s the process to “open the door”??
Awesome lesson, a few things I’d never considered. These really get me thinking..
Many thanks Brother Bryce!
