    I usually prep for the next week on Friday after school. Just so I can relax over the weekend, and I’m sure on Monday that things have been prepped.

    • @kimjaymama26
      @kimjaymama26 2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Yes, I do too. Otherwise I feel panicky under the surface all weekend. And something always crops up to keep me from doing it well if I don't make it a Friday priority.

    I love planning the week on Sunday! I write out what I hope to get done for each kid for each day. And at the end of the week, I highlight what doesn't get done, so I don't have to remember by Sunday. And so I can have a record of what actually got done. It also helps me to see when I've been planning too much.
    I try not to stress if things don't get done like it's hoped.

I have always been hesitant to schedule a whole year "in advance" and seeing this has definitely encouraged me. Thank you! :)

    I love your organization and planning. If I don't have the planning down and get things organized,I feel as if something big is missing. When things are well organized, it's then easy for us ( most evenings)to unwind by taking a walk at the end of the day, story time(different from bedtime stories), or a relaxing time together before the children are bathed and ready for bed(when it's not shopping evening or evening at the park).
    I truly love education and
    homeschooling. 🏠📚😍❤

    I love the week by week planning idea, I am required in Queensland Australia to plan all my subjects and lesson plans 12 months ahead of time. However, each day does have flexibility in the program I create. Life does happen and it is good to have a plan and a direction to get back on track when hiccups in life happen. I love the home school group Ange and your videos here on how you do homeschool. Thank you! Please keep it up as your channel is such an encouragement and source of ideas and fun in my homeschool journey. 🙋🏻‍♀️👋🏿🐨😎✅

I work in a corporation and this is what I realize every day now… we as women are too hard on ourselves and keep the highest standards for ourselves…. I love reverse planning too. Takes the pressure off to check the boxes, especially when unexpected opportunities come around... took a day off to visit my sister who was closer this past week (only 2 hrs away instead of 6) and that was one of the reasons we decided to homeschool. We're not off or behind, we just got to enjoy spending quality time with her. I love this idea of prepping for the week ahead, but unfortunately my husband's schedule changes so frequently I'm not sure what my first day is (our 'weekend'/days off are whatever his days off are). Will have to contemplate how to incorporate some of this...

    You are so super organized! I envy you so! I wish I could have home schooled my kids now! I did do a lot of teaching them history and things! When we went on trips I would get books on the places we were going and they could take open book tests on them as we traveled! They would get prizes if they were little or spending money when older! For visiting Williamsburg they knew much about it before we got there and it made it very enjoyable! We learned about the civil war battlefields when we took trips there and different states when we traveled through! I've tried to do it some with my grandchildren. We have a wonderful retired professor that has built an Indian village near here and is all into indian ways and crafts! My four older children just loved him! I said something to my 13 yr old grandson about visiting him again and he was excited! So hopefully soon!

    I do my school prep usually on Sunday also. This will be my last year homeschooling. My 16 year old son is in a middle school program where he will be finishing his high school and earning some college credits. My 15 year old daughter will be doing that next year. So yes, it is a very good idea to be organized just before school starts.

    This may be a naive question but do you think that you would have the same success homeschooling if you had a small budget and a small space to teach in? I’m curious whether money plays a role in the success of homeschoolers.

      You just simplify and work what’s best for your family in the season your in! It doesn’t need to be elaborate! I had one tiny closet when we were in an apartment now looking back I’m like how did I fit all that stuff in there 🤣

    I live in Great Britain. Well it's Britain anyway lol. Since covid, more and more parents have thought long and hard and have decided to teach their children at home.. Seeing their children thrive so much and doing incredibly better than before C ovid days. It's become apparent so many children are just happier and so much more confident. No more bullying going on. This has been a problem that seems to get worse. The teachers . Head teachers don't seem to be dealing with it at all well.. They seem to brush the on going problems under the carpet. I'm sure there are children that still prefer being at school. Especially if the school is incredibly better dealing with bullying. Also some children just like being away from home and need to desperately socialise..Everyday. My children are grown up now. I know I would teach my children at home if I could turn the clock back. I would always teach my children in the summer for a few hours every day. Just to make sure they didn't fall behind. Obviously I realise it's not the same as all day every day. 24\7 However it would of been definitely worth it. Especially when I see the results in how much more children are learning just because like I said before.. They are happy and much more content etc. Love your blogs Angela. You are a huge inspiration to many mum's ..God bless you and your dear family.🙏😘😘

      I loved the other video you have done about your sunday routine. I, too, plan things on sunday and prep for the new week, altough others tend to rest, as it's supposed to. 🙂

    We didn't like fix it grammar. It felt way too basic and the concepts didn't stick. It just kind of felt all over the place. Went back to rod and staff and it's like AAR, you question why you ever switched!

      Of course- though the vast majority are moms, and that is also who my viewers are, which is why I reference them that way.
