I did it with 60 I just posted it to Reddit. It's called Lox vs Yagluth gone wrong. They ended up pushing him over my huge earth wall enclosure. It was pure mayhem.
followed you Glitch option and I defeated Yagluth in less than 5 mins with the black metal sword. He did the explosion once even if he never saw me but I was in 160 health so I was okay. As someone who prefers not to do combat in this game, thank you so much for this guide
I used method 6. It worked extremely well for me, thanks. I have two goblin villages and 3 tar pits close to the alter. I didn't want to risk any adds messing up the fight. Silver sword and middle mouse killed him in about 5 minutes :)
Also if you are fighting with a group. You can typically dig under the altar and get enough space for a fire and teleporter to help out if anyone needs it. None of his attacks will hit them as the altar takes no damage. The group I play with is large and all but 2 people have quality gear....
Yep, I tried method 6, and Yag immediately destroyed the trap with me in it. I'm not sure if they fixed the AI, or if some differences in my setup caused it. Differences are: There were two players instead of one. In addition to the workbench at floor level, I had another workbench buried below the wooden floor, and I had an escape/return portal below the floor. All were destroyed in the second Yagluth arrived. :) was funny. Also, I had another portal, quite far, but maybe not far enough away.
Nice guide. Ten 2** wolves is enough too (with a little help with silver sword). If you are lucky you can even kill him twice in a row with the same wolves, losing them only on the second go. The second time I did not manage to bring the wolves in time to do the initial damage during spawning, so I lost them when Yag was 3/4 down. The rest was just a bit of work for silver sword (I helped wolves during the fight too a little, but just a little).
Excellent guide. I’m holding off on ending Yaggy boy for a bit. I’m having a difficult time finding totems on my seed, and since I also like using them for decorations along with extra boss trophies, I need quite a few. Because they don’t respawn, the Fuling raids on my base are the only renewable way to obtain them, as beserkers have a chance to drop totems. Once Yagluth is defeated, the Fuling raids stop, so its gonna be a bit before I take him on.
If you really need another way you can also make a dirt wall around the area(such as walls from pillar to pillar). Then slowly dig/build them closer until you can get him in a spot to use Sledge, takes awhile but it works, lol.
Bow skill really increases the DPS of the bow because it not only increases the DMG but all decreases the draw time from 2.5 seconds to 0.8 seconds at lvl 100. This makes the bow do around 6 times the DPS at lvl 100 vs 0. Yagluth is killable even with worse arrows at a high bow skill level. Tip, try doing a bow-only run and your skill level will be around 80-90 when you get to Yagluth.
Ahh but how much time does reaching yagluth take for a bow-only build? There's extra wood to chop for ammo and probably some artificial difficulty in the the dungeons. Not that that can't be fun, just that the time it takes could vary wildly depending on how good of a shot you are, how quickly you learn to manage aggro, and how much you're willing to use cheese strats like clipping into the altar. It's hilarious to me that it works that way, but I should have realized it was possible given how many times I've seen the glow of a thistle coming from inside pines or heard an "invisible" greydwarf whose spawn point overlapped with the inside of a rock 😂
My Yagluth altar was next to 2 tar pits that I didn't see before I started the fight. Made this fight way harder than it should've been. The tar slimes didn't even attack him.
bosses are in there own faction that is not hostile with any other faction. but i have also had issues with a tar pit that i had cleared but respawned new growts.
Also, even if bosses didn't get an exception, Yagluth and the Growths are all undead and undead don't attack each other. You find Draugr and Skeleton spawners together in the swamp all the time.
correction to your "frost arrows are only ones that do descent damage to Yag, Silver arrows do more damage than frost arrows , but are costly. Good guide. Thanks for posting.
That is incorrect. Silver arrows do LESS damage than frost. Yagluth is very resistant to piercing and takes only 25% damage from piercing, he takes normal damage from Spirit and Frost damage. Silver arrows do base 52 piercing (x25% = 13 ) and 20 Spirit for a total of 33 damage. Frost arrows do base 26 piercing (x25% = 6.5) and 52 Frost for a total of 58.5 damage. Frost arrows are nearly twice as effective as silver arrows.
there is a strategy on his pattern, when he meteor it's on cd, so if you prefer, try to trigger his meteor, then go near him and trigger his fist, after this, he can't meteor until a moment and can't use another attack cause you are too close that let you a moment to free dps
I can confirm that raising earth does NOT work if you think he cant pass through and your safe behind them. He smashes everything to stone. I have the little island off the coast yagluth one. So I built a stone hut across on land, had a walk way over to island kinda in water/land so i wouldn't end up having to swim back over. I raised to pillars onbwalkway and put a iron gate to. 3 fuling spawn on island and some on land so thats why i did gate. Needless to say, I went with silver sword, the fenis armor (supposedly fire resistant... BS) and still i used fire meed aswell. Well idk wtf happened but i kept burning. Even with fire potion and fire resistant armor, maybe the linen cape? I wore it for looks. But anyway, I DIED in a min or two, spawned back across the way in hut and was trying to grab back up items to get back across and keep going.... He was out side my hut (stone) and smashed TF out of me and my home. I didn't barely get a chance to open the box to grab items and i hear him right outside my spawn and BAM! I see _You Died_ AGAIN. I literally took hours to prepare to fight him, preparing the little island etc, for jack. Now both my portals and bed, hell everything are toast. I spawn at altar and now have to basically sail back from closest spawn (mortar spawn I guess). I was watching this vid right before fighting him. Now i complaining after ive somehow died twice and lost everything. 2 different maxed gear sets, black metal sword, axe, pickaxe, shield, dragner bow... Everything lol 🤦♂️ Yagluth is ⚠️ Dangerous!
Tbh that's part of why I check how old a guide is before deciding how to proceed. A guide that is 2 or 3 major updates old could be less than accurate, especially for things that are in the early release phase. I've beat him honestly on old playthroughs, I just want the unlocks so I can turn build costs off and construct *all the things*.
You're running fenis armor vs yagluth lol that entire set is like 30 armor total. Get padded armor, fire res potion, fully upgrade a frostnir, and get a black metal shield. Its a really easy fight. Beat him first try with this setup and this is my first valheim playthrough.
@@WhatLiesAwaitUS reread your comment and want to add: fire resistances from potions and armor don't stop you from burning, they just reduce the damage you take while the debuff is active. None of the resistances stop attack-based debuffs from being applied to the player. The wolf and lox capes give you passive immunity to the environmental-based version of the cold and freezing debuffs but if Moder hits you with her ice breath you still get the freezing debuff for a few seconds.
Solo. About 300-400 frost arrows. Dug a "no man's land" worth of WW1 trenches with a central raised keep with dirt walls so I could repair the bow and eat/heal. The trenches were lowered to the point they touched the water line. This helped with the whole burning alive situation. Also frost would destroy any mobs interfering if they got wet. Interspersed on the trench lines I cut diagonal notches to allow a line of fire. Took FOREVER. I will train Lox if I wanna farm Yag in the future. No victory is worth that many frost arrows, not when I have seekers in my future.
man I didn't realise that dodge rolling completely prevents the lightning damage from his slam. Had I known that I could've had so much more time to get hits in and would've made the fight 100x easier
7:12 i am not sure if the hottub was available during the time you made this video, but you can now just put that somewhere close to the arena if its not near water to get the wet debuff :)
Excellent video! For the wet debuff method, would this be a nice use case for tasty mead? This would boost your stamina, but would hurt your health regen. Most of the time, it might be worthwile i think. :)
His belly no longer clips through the floors but you can open up one of them when he's up there shoot him and then he does a move that obliterates all your floors and he'll drop down in the hole stuck there.
I think full Fenris is actually better than padded for this boss. You don't have to bother with mead, as well as providing you with increased move speed which makes avoiding his strikes or running back in for attacking faster letting you do more damage. You won't really need armour for physical damage since you're not supposed to get hit by meteors, especially with the aforementioned speed bonus.
YMMV, but I died multiple times trying this (I still haven't beaten this bastard, which is why I'm here). If you get hit even once, it's over. I assume a more skilled player than me will be able to do this. I love fenris, particularly for exploring (and the claws are badass).
@@collider4378 thing is, the only physical damage he has is the meteor itself and with Fenris speed all you have to do is just walk with no weapons (press R) or sprint for 2 seconds so they don't catch up.

Did they change this boss since you made the video? I was taking more than double damage from sitting inside the blue, just ticking
You forgot one--build up walls around the altar (around the tall pillars) before summoning him. He can't climb over the walls so you just need to stand far enough away (outside the walls) so he can't nail you with a meteor storm and fire frost arrows. Killed him that way several times.

Fire resist potion, stamina potions, melee set with movement resist and running speed buff, claws. Run in, do your dmg, get out to dodge. Repeat. Easiest non cheesy/exploit way.
There is a better way to immobilize than digging ditches. Dragon's teeth (similarly to tanks) - vertical earth embankments are built 3-4 times and at appropriate intervals. This method should also work in the fight against the boss in Ashland.
So that's why i felt like my Blackmetal Sword doesn't hit him pretty hard, despite my sword skills being at lvl 41, so spirit weapons works the most significant damage rather than blackmetal ones. Should've not even bother creating blackmetal sword...owwh well i just beat him today...lol thanks for the tips tho..great work
What if I already spawned him, but he is so far away from the altar because I can't kill him with melee, can I respawn him or try bonfire/belly method if I lure him back?
the spirit damage debuff doesnt stack, wouldnt it be optimal to use silver sword to apply debuff, then swap to Black Metal sword for more DPS output? when he stops taking spirit damage, swap back for one hit with the silver sword?
not sure if they fixed the glitch in hildir's request update, but i couldn't manage to clip into the altar. tho been unlucky a bit too, i found two spawns that were just exactly at the sea level, so it was hard to do this properly with my viking constantly starting to swim. maybe i'll try it again if i find a better located spawn point, but they do tend to be on the coastline most often than not, unfortunately. tho i did defeat yagluth with the first method without much problem (using frostner instead of sword), i remember him being way tougher when i fought him with a friend a while ago. not sure if they nerfed him a bit and didn't tell anyone, or we just had a skill issue...
i was shocked after i died like 8 times with friend to him. After checking internet for info i realized he cant spawn any minions and this huge army was random patrols gathering around.
My bow level is 22, sword 27. The fully upgraded bow with frost arrows makes nearly no damage at the boss, but the silver sword works very well. totally forgot the option of silver arrows :-(
Both those skill levels are pretty low for that point in the game. You really should be 40+ in your primary skill levels. Silver arrows are much worse than Frost so can be ignored. With a higher level bow skill (50 or so) you can do 50 to 60 points of damage per frost arrow . . . killing Yagluth in less than 200 arrows. But, yes the Silver sword does damage much quicker if you can avoid taking too much damage yourself.
Yep, for Yag that is too low (solo). Is sword your main weapon? If so, you should be around lvl 50 at this point. Bow is more tricky to level up if you use melee weapon as a main, but with root armor's buff you should be at 40+ anyway. Try to get the skill levels up with 1) less dying and 2) you can train up at greydwarf or draugr spawners pretty fast, and get resources as an added bonus.
@@Vasilio1000 Nope, he is down, it took me solo about 20 minutes after I switched to the silver sword - and finished dying with the bow. My parry lvl is 37, because before I begin to attack I always parry the first or second mob hit. This way my damage increase and I need only one or three hits - most time until now, means ... until mistlands. Now its a bit exhausting, but possible with the Frostner hammer. And yes, sword is main.
@@CharlotteNordkind Congrats! I parry only when necessary, never had blocking over lvl23. Apparently it evens out - either you simply have high hit power or good blocking that increases hit power.

when the game got released he dropped "yagluth thing" it was kinda funny to have this bc it was an item that was completely useless
Should've not even bother creating blackmetal sword...owwh well i just beat him today...lol thanks for the tips tho..great work
#6 is fixed belly does not go through the floor
Yup took forever to find this boss just happened to see a location finder while sailing past some plains
Important tip: When he rises his left arm, he fires TWO volleys of meteors. If you stop after avoiding the first one, the second one will get you.
What if I already spawned him, but he is so far away from the altar because I can't kill him with melee, can I respawn him or try bonfire/belly method if I lure him back?
Whoop! New video!
Cheers mate. Thank you
What level was your bow? Obviously that makes a huge damage difference
the spirit damage debuff doesnt stack, wouldnt it be optimal to use silver sword to apply debuff, then swap to Black Metal sword for more DPS output? when he stops taking spirit damage, swap back for one hit with the silver sword?
not sure if they fixed the glitch in hildir's request update, but i couldn't manage to clip into the altar. tho been unlucky a bit too, i found two spawns that were just exactly at the sea level, so it was hard to do this properly with my viking constantly starting to swim. maybe i'll try it again if i find a better located spawn point, but they do tend to be on the coastline most often than not, unfortunately.
tho i did defeat yagluth with the first method without much problem (using frostner instead of sword), i remember him being way tougher when i fought him with a friend a while ago. not sure if they nerfed him a bit and didn't tell anyone, or we just had a skill issue...
The first plains I went to, not only had a stone structure but the vegvisir and all the Statues😅
with the wet debuff method would using the Frostner on him do enough added damage to him being in the water to be a better choice?
with the mistland, you have black marble that is unvulnerable to fire, can you make a roof with it ?
i was shocked after i died like 8 times with friend to him. After checking internet for info i realized he cant spawn any minions and this huge army was random patrols gathering around.
was funny + good tips for melee and dmg reduction
Wished I knew about the fire resistance mead. Would've made this fight sooo much easier
What about the black metal sword?
Good vid. But for critisism if you make an example of not having barley for barley wine maybe not use all barley based foods for that example.
One tip if uyou use wolf, help them do dammage and wolf might survie
i killed yagluth with black metal sword and no fire resistant...i literally didnt know you can craft it..
After you kill yagluth what kind of raids do you get?
Nope, the method with killing him from under the ground doesn't work. He just stays on the wooden platform and there is no way to hit him
My bow level is 22, sword 27.
Tried the water tech, did not really work. Was knocked out of my mind all the time.
If he is immune to pierce how does the silver sword any good? Me and 2 friends tried him today and he took no damage and the damage he did take he healed it back
Because swords do slash, not pierce?
I tried #6 but his stomach never came through.. He did get stuck in my hole though and now im doomed
I tried the thing with a hole but he broke the floor and fell in it. I can’t get him out and I cand hit him but he can hit me I broke the fight lmao. Tried getting a wild lox to fall in the hole with him he didn’t mind the lox and he also couldn’t hurt it. Tried cheering with arrows but they do like 15 damage
I brought 7 lox and 4 2* wolves. They did a 1/6th of his health and got obliterated by the aoe slam and meteors lol.
I tried the method 6 but Something strange happened, the boss didn't came top of the shelter. Then I went out and looked. It turns out that the boss is stuck in the spawn zone sdfsdfsdf :D then I get some cover and killed it with arrows. I didn't need a tower. he didn't even attack me. this is the best bug I guess :D
I saw a video the other day that said the wet debuff no longer works, that Yagluth removes the possibility of a wet debuff happening.
belly method doesnt work anymore..
So 15 two star wolves. How about 30-40 one star wolves?
VERY good guide. And I did everything wrong, he killed all my wolves, used black metal weapons and the fenrir set.🤦♂
must recently broke. fire resistance never helped and his attack pattern got faster. cant even get in to attack now without getting blasted by 2 attacks at once...
I beat him last night with 2 friends, all wearing Fenris sets and with barley wines active. We were near the coast and took a little dip after each melee rush. His attacks were normal and fire resistance was working perfectly. We used Frostner and were eating lox pies, serpent stew and blood pudding. Only one death, and it was that friend's first time fighting him.
@@ShirleyTimple my seever is glitched then. The time between attacks was lest that 2 second. And when i used my barly whine i took 56 damage each tic. Regular fire and blue fire. Im even using a lvl 4 silver sword and it just merks his health but he keeps healing???? Il get him to lile a third down and then it bumps back up to 7 8ths. I fought him yesterday for 3 hours and never got past a 2 thirds health. Just keeps healing
@@Th3XC45T it sounds like there's some kind of lag or information loss happening between you and the server. We're playing on a nitrado dedicated server, two of us on xbox and one on PC, and we haven't experienced anything like you're describing.
@@ShirleyTimple its always me who gets the game breaking glitches. And its always me eho cant figure out how to fix the issue. Probs gonna stop playing if i cant beat him. We had 5 ppl attacking it. And it still killed everyone without droping past 2 thirds health. And keeps healing. Idk what to say man. Fix this game
frost > silver head arrows?
14:28 Actually, I think silver arrows would be the most effective, but also, costly.
should i max upgrade the silver sword?
Yh
I know you did the wolf army method, but did you try a herd of Lox?
I did try it out, but I didn't feel it was practical for folks who aren't spawning tons of them in using the console
I bred up about 30 lox but could not get them all to stay near enough to the spawn alter to engage Yag. Those that did died quickly without doing significant damage to him.
@@sailorgunsveteran5260 Yeah, on our group server we had 5 of us on, we saddled and rode a Lox or two each (our "Lox Ranch" was extremely close to the Yagluth spawn) out there and parked them in the middle of his altar. We also each brought 5 1-Star wolves, and the Loxes were of very limited effect, while the wolves took a noticeable chunk of his health. Live and learn.
@@glens-games A lox breeder on one of the fingers works well for getting many lox. Generally I get 3-4 lox per day if I'm hanging around all day. My method is to do wolves ( non starred as they are so easy to find ) and lox at the same time. About 30-40 lox and a similar number of wolves will kill Yagluth and provide a good supply of food ingredients. To stop the animals leaving I build a wall around the entire shrine outside the fingers.
i SPAWNED HIM WITH ZERO KNOWLEDGE! Now i need to get my body back :( and craft some fire resist, and hope for the best.
does anyone know if these have been patched by now?
Does is still works in 2024?!
why needed a full plate armor when all the damage of yagluth is fire damage ? the fenring armor provide fire resistance, isn't it better ? ( and speed to dodge comet)
fuck it we ball. black metal sword. bonemass. good food good life. skill
Couldn´t Yagluth be considered a "skeleton" so you use some maul/mace on him?
He has no weaknesses, but it doesn’t matter he is easier than bonemass. All you need is a fire resistance potion and plains gear
Easiest boss in the game by far. Hit and walk behind pillar, shield up, kill
7 ways to kill a Yagluth ~ Just slip out the back Jack, make a new plan Stan, you don't need to be coy Roy you don't have to shoot arrows MUUUUCH just Hop off the bus Gus, Drop off the key Lee, Sip on a pot Scott and dont leave to go Pee.
Or you could just follow his tail and make him spin around cluelessly while you hit him once or twice every few seconds
Thanks just got to plains
Tried method 6 he went super sayan as soon as i moved lol
Nice
I feel like the spear would be more efficient
I found him before I found the stone lol
My pc can barely run this boss fight cause of how many particles it makes so I did not enjoy the slideshow I was playing😂
you can use yagluth to protect from meteors just in front of his big head and easy avoid damage
dude turn the screen shake off.
try silver arrows. he is weak to spirit
