Thanks for all the informative videos. Waited a long time for the skillet to be released. Ordered mine as soon as they dropped on the site. Super excited to cook in it.
I don't think FLINT & STEEL will ever go out of style , if it does SHAME ON US . Still my favorite way to get my fires going . P.S. , IRON PYRITE (Fools Gold) also makes good hot sparks because of the sulfur . I carry one of each . Have you ever used it ? GREAT VIDEO ! 😁😁😁
I keep the m34 canteen and a couple small stoves. Alcohol and butane and a small bush pot in my haversack for a day hike to cook a meal or a hot drink. If I plan to stay longer I’ll toss a poncho or tarp in it. The haversack is a great multi purpose pack
One of the beautiful things about Flint And Steel fire making is you can take them on an aeroplane. I wear my Wilderness Outfitters Arrowhead fire making tool on a leather lanyard with Vietnam service beads (in honour of my Dad and uncles who studied at Vietnam University instead of college) and the key to my cabin. It went into basket before I boarded and nobody asked questions. Granted, it would make a presentable sap on some poor bastards neck but they didn't mind.
Real looking forward to the Lau shelter video. Does the outfitters shop have a UK partner? I saw some of your range on scamazon UK but sold out and no date for a restock. If you don't have another video before Christmas I wish you a merry and peaceful Christmas for you and your family and staff. Mike
Here in the UK, I picked up a superlight titanium chain from a company called Alpkit. It has proven to be a very versatile and useful addition to my kit. Looking forward to the shelter video. The Scandinavian countries make some excellent outdoor gear; especially for cold weather. They KNOW about cold weather. 🥶
Haversack, Musette bag, possibles bag, or extra-large Man Purse, they all carry stuff you may need or want to survive another day on this big round ball we like to call earth, Right!😂 I think Flat-Earthers may call it something different, I’m not sure!😂
How about the Horseshoe bedroll system. I've seen you do some incredible things. I want to plan a winter tarp & hammock trip, & was wondering how you might fix a horseshoe bed/blanket roll. I'll be using a osni cloak & HD poncho/hammock, USMC LBV, CLS Mother Canteen Carrier, & G2 gear roll with USMC Butt Pack vs. Haversack. I'm interested in your take on this. See you next time.
One thing I have found with a vest with lots of pockets and stuff in those pockets is that it makes the straps of a pack almost painful. The pack straps pushing the things in the vest pockets into my body.
Look forward to the Lavvu video. Do you give disabled veteran and military discounts for your courses? I am in dire need of a solid land nav course, but I’m afraid I’ll get lost driving all the way from Arkansas to Ohio!😮
Aqe shit dave thsts my exclusive shamandana color. You you were the purchaser. Thanks man. I get a small % of thsy color for being an ambasador for jay. Btw thay mess kit is bad ass
Thanks for all the videos all these years, Dave.
Merry Christmas! Thanks for all your giving of knowledge.
Thanks for all you do in the bushcraft community GOD BLESS
Merry Christmas to you and your family Dave.
Flint and steel is my favorite way to start a fire. I like the idea of a belt to wrap around a haversack.
Merry Christmas Dave, to you and your family.
So glad the skillet is going to be here soon. I have a terrible problem of over loading my haversack
Dave is the king
Can't wait for that shelter video!!!!! God bless and have a great holiday season.

Love the video dave 👌 from Australia 🇦🇺
Thanks Dave and Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Same to your sir wishing you and yours a very merry Christmas
Flint and steel is my preferred fire strating method.
Basically, you need a tin and a carbon steel tool to have infinite fires.
The ridge cut vest is a very good alternative to oil skin. I've used it my whole life in the south and it works extremely well.

Merry Christmas to the entire SRO crew and thank you for the notice my skillet has shipped!
Looking forward to using the new skillet. Merry Christmas, Dave!

Compass also helpful during a heavy snow or white-out...especially if you're caught in it while ice fishing 🥶.
God Bless you Dave . Get well soon. Great Video

Where’s you get your oil cloth poncho?
Selfrelianceoutfitters.com
What kind of match safe is that
QUESTION: What food would you add to this and how would you carry it?
Salt cured Bacon or jerky wrapped in butcher paper
I do not like haversacks. The same kit, the same weight in 10l backpack is like a feather. In haversack such weight kills me after 4+ hours of walking
Third 🤣 Great content
