I use one for day hikes. I carry... 2m x2m cheap tarp, just enough shelter to eat my lunch. Small torch and monocular. 300ml ti mug, alcohol stove and windshield. A choice of tea 3 in 1 coffee or miso soup. Small trangia mess tin with whatever I'm going to cook packed inside. Small folding table, cutting board, 15ml alcohol and stove, pot stand and windshield. 350ml water Ti Cutlery and opinel no6 knife. Overtrousers and packable jacket. Groundsheet and sitmat strapped underneath. I swap out the waterproofs and tarp in warmer weather for a cheap poncho and carry more water. I haven't waterproofed the bag as it doesn't need it. Admittedly it will take up a bot of water but it's never come through. I haven't modified it in any way as it works fine as it is but I have made a few additions such as adding a quick release buckle on the middle strap and lacing the strap so as it works as a rucksack. I made a short video if you want to know more.
I've used the divider, to sew in a flat pocket for notebook, since I use it mostly as EDC bag. Also mine had very thin strap, so I bought an AK strap copy, which I've put on it.
The militsy strap for the 2 qt canteen is great too. Thsts cool you put the pocket in ther im fiddling with mine as we speak on a sewing machine on the sides
I have two of this bag. But mine must be earlier models. Because all the pockets have buttons, and not snaps. They do work, but take more time to button up. That long pocket is for your eating utensils. I think the other three smaller pockets on the inside, might be for condiments or spices. Salt, Pepper, Sugar and so on. The two little pockets on the front, under the flap, no idea. I have several molle type packs, never thought about attaching the bread bag in that manner. I will have to give it a try. Stay safe.
I love my polish bread bag. Mine came without a shoulder strap, so a paracord rifle sling works well as a substitute. I also waxed the bag to make it waterproof. One of the paracord donuts that Blackie makes fits under my 40 oz water bottle cup for cordage. There is so much space and it's a very versatile piece of kit.
I live these so much, I bought a second one. As someone else mentioned, mine came without straps, so that's something to consider, but at £7 (about $9) delivered, still an absolute bargin. I have recently bought a British Army surplus gas mask holder, that comes with a strap and 2 small molle pouches, which at £10 ($12) is even better value. Both of these bomb proof bits of kit were in 'as new' condition, the Polish bread bags hadn't ever been issued. So yes, there are some tremendous bargains out there.
Whooooaaaa hello from USA!! Happy you got one. They are great bags. I cant reccomend them enough nad they age very well ice been using that one in the video for about 4 ish years or more. And ive had another for 16years. Enjoy and stay dave over there.
I just got a 2 pack of them today from Coleman milsurp but instead of snap buttons mine has regular metal buttons. I’m going to swap my short range get home bag for this bag.
I bought 2 of these a couple of years ago here in UK I think mine must be an earlier model it's got buttons instead of snaps which I think are aluminium a very tight fit so it's not quite so 'handy' think I'm gonna have to tweak the button holes
Thats a cool bag man i have a pathfinder haversack and its small im saving for one of blackies haversack s... whats the name of the swiss metal case? Ty.... hope your mom is doing better... praying for you and your family...
Ya know... Im a bag whore.. it started about 12 yrs ago watching sootch00. Ive always had an alice pack or two and a day type pack but between the old canvas GI butt pack, maxpedition mongo, an austrian butt pack, a newer Helikon satchel and a couple haversacks Ive tried to make, I like my romanian haversack best. Its very similiar to this polish bag. I cut the nylon straps off and added leather straps, I love it mostly because size and it is very simple. Any larger and I put too much stuff in it. Any smaller Im leaving stuff out.. I just so happened to weigh it this eve, it came in at 13 lbs. I need to shave about 3lbs off her.. great vid Dakota!
Thanks a ton ans my.qife just got me the romanian combat pack i csnt wait to try it out. Im a gear whore myself and i have enough gear for 20 folks lol my goal is under 15 lbs, but i aslo coult water food and situational items in that 15
