      We bringing that average down. Adding a lot of V0 to V2 to the mix averages out all the actually good climbers that can do V7 and up. I personally don't think I have ever seen below V2 but I mean the 0 and 1 grades exist. So long as you have watched anyone climb and are not horribly out of shape V2 is pretty easy even for someone who has literally never climbed. I have to imagine a V0 is like a damn ladder lol.

      I, for now at least, wouldnt consider myself one of them but it looks good for me in a genetic aspekt. No one to my knowlege, in my family has ever broken a bone, or had any other serious injury. As a kid i did some really dangerous stunts like jumping about 4 meters in the ground and plenty of other stupid and crazy stuff.

I've never broken a bone or anything like that, but from skateboarding, skiing, and now climbing, I think it's just force over time. Arthritis is real, and annoying. Its cool how motivating grades are, I know bouldering purists (including the inventor of the v scale) thinks they detract from the purity of the experience, but that fast progression you get indoors from v0 to your first 4/5 is what hooks people.
    Then you claw your way through 6/7/8 and unless you're very gifted you will be a grizzled vet who preaches about how grades don't matter and pure lines and good movement are whats important lol.

      I like doing the comp walls at my gym when they go up and then seeing the grades when they go up with the new sets. My first v8 I did not realize was v8 until after the grade went up

    This was such a wholesome and feel good video! Brett was doing great. And it is easy to forget what a beast Magnus is because he makes it look so effortless and easy. It is a good reminder to se him climbing with someone who is not a professional (yet😎). Waiting for the climbind movie Brett!

    Nice shirt dude! You see that he is used to cameras, eye movement and so. Magnus, you should contact and invite more celebs. They will also benefit since it makes them very relatable. Maybe Jason Momoa, he also climbs...

    Brett Dier is so different to his character in Jane the Virgin, which probably shows what a great actor he is. What a nice, humble, and dedicated man.
    I always enjoy Magnus interacting with people, and he is such a good mentor to learners I feel. Great & inspiring video.

    I don't climb. I'm 69 and not likely to start climbing now, but Magnus is entertaining and he inspires me to stay fit. I stumbled across Magnus on TH-cam when one of his military fitness challenges showed up on my related videos. I've been a subscriber ever since.

    Excellent video as always!! Regarding the shoe odor, one thing that always works for me is leaving them in the freezer overnight. This kills the bacteria which cause the odor.

  • @thomasbecker9676
    @thomasbecker9676 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    For smelly shoes, use OxiClean. I wear Vibram Fivefingers daily, and as such, they can get pretty nasty. I fill up a bucket with a scoop or two of Oxiclean and hot water, and after rinsing them off, I submerge my Fivefingers (make sure they're submerged with a weight or something). Let them sit overnight and rinse them thoroughly with hot water, being sure to squeeze them out as you rinse. Let air dry in the sun or in front of a fan.
    I have pairs that are 3+ years old that get disgusting, and they come out smelling brand new.

    • @finnbrendel
      @finnbrendel 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nice idea! I will try this eventually :) The method I used so far is just to use disinfectant spray regularly on them. Doesn't makes them as new but they definitely smell less! And it's just two seconds of my time after the session.

      @@finnbrendel Soaking and drying does take longer, but it lifts so much disgusting...stuff... out of the fabric, it's insane.

    just wanted to say this a 19yr old , I definitely think rock climbing is becoming the main way people work out. All of my friends who are "entering the real world" getting jobs and pay and hobbies, any of them that work out do it via rock climbing. All of my feeds are filled with my old friends on these awesome looking rock climbing trips, and I'm sitting here astounded that they can afford this shit when I know damn well they 19 and went to the same ghetto ass school as me.

      i mean thats the thing with climbing outside, you just need the gear but once u have it its honestly pretty cheap depending on the spots. you just camp in a tent or something and u climb during the day, way cheaper than going to like rome or paris or some crap
