ATTACKED right here while mowing this Overgrown yard, rushed to hospital afterwards!

- Nobody would mow this Overgrown yard, we did and we were attacked right here!
Neighbors Lawn has been Overgrown all year and I wanted to help the neighbors out by mowing their Overgrown Lawn. Everything was going great until I broke out the weed eater and hit the bee's nest with it and was swarmed by 10,000 bee's. I immediately felt a stinging sensation but thought it was a pricker until they were stinging me all over the place. I dropped the weed eater and ran about a hundreds yards and left it running. I went back and they were still chasing me everywhere. I ended up swelling up really bad and had to go to hospital due to reaction.I returned the new day to mow and ran over a bunch of stuff damaging some of our equipment. Dangerous yard!

About 62 years ago I was visiting my grandparents. A neighbor was running to their house. Her brother had run into a hornets nest with his tractor. He needed to be taken to the ER. The sister didn't know how to drive and they didn't have a phone. We went and picked him up. I will NEVER forget what I saw. His face was swollen beyond recognition. He was bloody from all the stings and he was delirious. I am hoping you are okay. I know your new neighbor appreciates everything you did. That was a huge lot. I would imagine about 2 to 3 acres at least
Wow. Of course no one likes a disturbed hive, but what impressed me was how much you did, you saved them sooo much time. Good neighbor award!
Just had to have a yellow jacket nest removed from underneath siding on my house. They were getting in the house, and stung me and my family. They are aggressive and I agree they keep on stinging as long as they can. The exterminator said there were at least 200-300 bees. Glad you backed off quickly. Good neighbors are always appreciated.❤😊

Eric I'm surprised the HOA didn't fine them for their overgrown lawn like the tried with you! LOL!!!
I started keeping hornet spray nearby when mowing and trimming. I ran over ground nest and had a heck of a time getting my mower back, luckily I shut it off as I jumped and ran. Later that night I went back to push the mower away and sprayed the nest.
You are a good neighbor. Most people around me don’t do this and could care less if an elderly person with heart problems struggles to do their own yard.
Wow. That's a huge yard. I can't imagine trying to tackle that with a walking mower. Even consumer riding mowers would probably take a long time. Great job!

A cotton ball soaked in apple cider vinegar held on the sting immediately after sting neutralizes the sting. I do that and I could hardly tell where the sting was located. Didn't swell, but still itched a little.

Bees are a dangerous part of the job-especially ground bees like yellow jackets cause you don’t see the nest till you hit it. Glad you’re okay. 😊❤

My sweet Orēo got stung by hundreds of wasps. She is a half Springer Spaniel and half Poodle. Those suckers wanted to sting her all over. Her thick curly fur saved her from many stings. They actually tried to burrow into her fur to sting her as much as they could. My husband saved her and got stung in the process. Thankfully they are okay. I am glad you are okay now. People watch out for the wasp especially this time of year. They very aggressive this time of year.

Hope you’re doing well,as a person who is highly allergic to bees, this year has been terrible already. Stung 3 times and epie pens are not cheap!!! Take care
Not cheap only in the USA. Everywhere else they're between $20USD and free of charge.
Couple years ago when the pharmicutical Rep UP'D the prices, $ 4.000.00 per 2 pens- I can only get 2 pens a year here in AZ...When it's 117 or more degrees I wear a thick hoodie, if I've already used my pens. Trying to prevent any stings anaphylactic shock right away. Highly allergic.

You guys should always carry cans of bee, hornet, wasp spray in your trucks. Those stings are probably going to swell up, Erik. Sorry you had to experience that.
What I would do is walk the back area with a metal detector and see if you can spot more junk and mark it with a stick then just go dig it up. Hope youre doin ok after the bee stings. We had to do that with my uncles 3 acre property. All sorts of stuff buried out back.

You did a great job on this yard as always. That's a huge yard that you had mowed for your neighbors. That yard had to been at least several acres in size.
Hopefully you won't run into anymore wasps or bees on the jobs that you do to help people out with their overgrown yards. Getting attacked & stung by that many bees/wasps is a nightmare coming true. Hopefully you'll be ok since you were stung so many times. Have you ever thought about keeping bee/wasp spray killer on hand, so you can defend yourself against getting stung by them?

I have never been stung by bee or wasp, and I grew up on a farm. I would imagine the sting hurts pretty bad. But to have multiple bee stings, that's got to be really bad! Good thing you went to the hospital to get treated! I hope you are feeling better now!
Neighbors helping neighbors is wonderful to really know your neighbors!!! That also happened in the farming community that I grew up in, in Iowa.
That backyard was hugh!!! It will be so much upkeep for the owner. I hope they have some good plans for it!

I was stung nine times while mowing our yard last year. Found a nest in our back shed
Then had three more stings while walking the dogs on separate occasions. I never have a problem with bees only wasps.
That's a nice chunk of property. I'd leave the back wild for birds, bees, wildlife. You mowed by those bees alot and they never bothered you...glad you got checked out with all those stings tho.
