Gods, I love how transparent Cersei's shortsightedness is in the books. GRRM doesn't get too heavy handed with it, but it's right there.

I have to say I'll never stop laughing at Cersei choosing Aurane for his looks and then going like ":o" when he leaves with the fleet.

The best part is that Pycelle suggests crewing the ships with veterans of the battle of Blackwater (men loyal to the crown), but since Auranne is handsome Cersei just does what he says and crews them with poachers and thieves.😅

You know, the amount of work you put into these really makes them shine. I get the feeling that the amount of effort it takes to really nail any one well edited joke, can feel... Not worth it? IDK how to say it, but your videos have that Nintendo polish. That little extra. It's the little things that can turn something from a plucky amateur effort with spirit and gumption, into a professional project that stands among something like Sequelitis.

What do you think about the reports that Loras is gravely injured? I think it's all too perfect.
Cersei tried to set up Margaery and it couldn't have gone better despite the Kettleblack denying he slept with her when put to the question.
I think the Tyrells are in league with Aurane Waters since it was he who brought back the reports of Loras' injuries. I suspect he _is_ injured just nothing close to the extent that Waters reported.
I am also inclined to believe that Pycelle is holding back, too. Yes, he said he gave Margaery Moon Tea but never said it was for Margaery even if she requested it. If Pycelle isn't involved then Taena Merryweather almost certainly is.
Taena knew pretty much everything about Cersei's plans to set up Margaery and that could have allowed Margaery to appear to fall into her trap(s).
Apart from Cersei's failure to foresee what the High Sparrow did, everything else went exactly to plan, in fact, far better than she could have hoped to plan. Margaery appears to have been unfaithful and Loras appears to be gravely injured which means he cannot fight for her in Trial by Battle. Although Robert Strong would be honour bound to be her champion (right?) Cersei couldn't possibly have known that at the time. Like l said, it's all too perfect .
TL;DR Loras is fine and in league with Aurane Waters. Taena Marryweather is a spy for Margaery.

That's pretty much what I was going for - I wanted to pay attention to parts of the story you don't hear or think about much. There are so many great videos and essays on the more well-known theories, and I didn't want to retread old ground. It just proves how involved and complex GRRM's writing really is.

Do you have any thoughts on him possibly being a bastard of Rheagar or the mad king? Cersei mentions is resemblance to Rheagar in the books. I think he could be a bastard Targ through 2 ways. Rheagar would be the right age to be his father and the mad king did agree with the right to the first night…. So maybe he took the lord of the tides wife to bed? Even if he isn’t, he’s still a super cool character and reminds me of Alyn of Hull

I have to be honest - I have no fucking clue where this character is headed or why this would serve the larger narrative. He was only related for a brief, tertiary moment to the plot in King's Landing but he did the only smart thing to do and fled the castle with every gilded candlestick he could find in the shape of a lovely new gaggle of ships. Will he become involved in either Euron or Victarion's storylines? Either one doesn't bode well for him to be perfectly frank.

Tesserakonteres were Ptolemaic Egyptian warships (maybe) that were 130 meters long with 4000 oars, so it's definitely not unreasonable. In-effective, incredibly expensive and not at all practical? of course they were, you could have like 20 normal sized for the same number of tree, that would be far quicker and maneuverable.
just felt like mentioning that because you kinda dogged the boys by saying Byzantines biggest ships only had 230 oars. You probably just looked up 'dromon', but that is just a type of ship; the Byzantines (who are Romans btw yeah it's complicated) had far bigger ships, they also had fucking flame throwers ok? (greek fire look it up)
I actually did try finding the biggest byzantine ships but only dromonds turned up.
I'm glad someone with actual boat knowledge turned up though.

As in pull every theory you prefer and thought experiment out how they will combine, who will die, etc. All for the next book, since its clear we're never getting it. Another cool thing about the Velaryons is that characters with a tenuous place in canon, and only exist due to the fact that people need to have parents to be born and have children so their family exists in 100 years share a first name with me but its a y instead of a i.
Corwyn Velaryons exist and there may be more than one of them and this is all the evidence I need to say that GRRM saw my letter I sent to him in high-school and said ill make that dumb fuck a nameless character because he asked me to finish the books for a stupid class assignment.

In the Game of Thrones novels, Cersei is a lot less clever than in the movies, and also a lot more boyish. In particular, the person who left the deepest impression on her was Crown Prince Rhaegar Targaryen (the eldest brother of the Mother of Dragons, the father of Jon Snow later). Rhaegar was so handsome that Cersei only met him once and wanted to marry him, only to be rebuffed later to return to incest with Jaime as before.
Years later, Cersei is now the queen regent, ruling the kingdom because of her young son Tommen. She didn't want to use Tyrell's suggestions, so she appointed a bunch of scumbags herself. The most special of them is Aurane Waters.
This man was an illegitimate son of House Velaryon - a family related to the dragon-kings of the Targaryens of old. Initially, he sided with Stannis, after Stannis was defeated at Blackwater (season 2 on the film), was arrested, then released again for swearing allegiance to King Joffrey. All of the above points to Aurane being a worthless bastard, even from the enemy ranks, not to be trusted. But just because he resembled the old Crown Prince Rhaegar (blond hair, silvery gray eyes) that Cersei began to fantasize and named him ... the captain of the navy, with a foot in the royal council.
It is worth mentioning that Aurane is only one or two parts like Rhaegar. But Cersei still used him, even always thinking in his head that he wanted her, or glanced at her. What is the end result? Cersei poured a lot of money into building ships for Aurane to command, but as soon as Cersei was imprisoned by the Holy See, Aurane drove all those ships away, ignoring her. Tried to raise a pilot but failed miserably. 🤣 🤣 🤣

He's Monford Velaryon incognito and has been aided by Rennifer Longwaters in assuming the identity of "Aurane". We have no evidence of Monford dying on the Blackwater, in fact, there seems to be an odd focus on Monford and his ship(s) duing the battle from Davos' perspective as his flagship, Pride of Driftmark, is the last thing Davos' witnesses before this chapter ends and at that point only the oars are aflame - if Davos made it, Monford's chances should be even better at that point. We also hear of Monford's other ships getting destroyed in the battle, eliminating the option of "Aurane" having served on those (Bold Laughter is hit by a trebuchet, Harridan is engulfed in the Wildfire early in the battle and Seahorse seems to end up in the 'bridge' of ships as Tyrion runs into Velaryon spearmen there, but alas, no "Aurane"). Monford disappears into thin air while "Aurane" appears out of nowhere. Besides, we were informed of Monford's alleged fate by Alester Florent who's been proven not only wrong, but an outright fool time and time again - how can you question Qyburn/Pycelle on "Aurane's" location but trust Alester Florent on Monford's alleged fate? If Alester Florent says something, chances are it isn't so. Simple.
In other words, he's managed to threaten Stannis (yes, he actually threatens to take his forces home if King's Landing isn't attacked, even before securing Renly's forces at Storm's End) into smashing his forces (or, more importantly, his fleet) and the royal ones both on the Blackwater, sabotage Crown/Iron Bank relations, send away the Arbor fleet (towards possible mutual destruction with the Ironborn) and increase his own forces ~tenfold in the process while putting himself at an advantageous position at the Stepstones (if there) - from this point on he's in complete control of the traffic between Essos and Westeros (even between Westeros' eastern and western coasts). He's been scheming from the very beginning and been incredibly successful at it. How? Glass candles!
So what's his plan? To be a pirate in the Stepstones? What a waste. To aid Daenerys? Unlikely, as his claim to the Throne is potentially better than hers (through Rhaenys -> Laena -> Baela -> House Velaryon). Trying to bring about the Long Night because of that alleged pact House Velaryon made with the Merling King (another manifestation of the Great Other) upon their arrival in Westeros (some 200+ years before the Targaryens)? Euron's doing that already.. whatever it is, he's in an incredibly strong position militarily and therefore diplomatically.

A Valyrian house famed for sailing vast distances all across the known world. Marwyn has one (and uses it for scheming). Quaithe has one (and uses it for scheming). Nah, why would any Valyrians? What would be the point of that? Absurd!
