    Nice tips. Yes they are pretty amazing. In the current event where I've been collecting scrap, which has meant even blowing up debris too large to scrap, which makes smaller scrap that can be packaged, I've tried to blow up the Space Ports and have not been able to.
    Also - if you DO remove the gravity globe off the top, you can place it back up on top of the space port and then "teleport" yourself back into it on top of the space port.

      yup, the space ports can't be blown up. or winched to a new spot (sad). they are where they are. Which is why I wanna be able to create my own :)
      Thanks for pointing out the thing with the gravity globe. I knew they slot right back (and onto any large storage slot; great for a train or rover 'seat'), but didn't think to mention it.

      How have I not used the gravity ball to get on top before?! I usually run around the thing and try to peak over the edge…. If I used it as a base, I’d build a ramp to the top…. What a fool I’ve been.

    my preferred way to deal with the broken ramp issue is to put a tall rail post directly under the ramp's remaining stub. the rail is the perfect height to visually "dock" with the spaceport. also by doing this, i can create a rail network to all the spaceports on the planet, so i can instantly summon a rail car from anywhere on the planet as soon as i land, nomatter which spaceport i land at.

    The spaceports honestly these are serene and automated oxygen and direct powers in Astroneer ye !

    The one thing I would love the space port to have is the objectives/rewards control panel found on landing pads. If this function was integrated I would definitely make a base around them

      I use them as a landing pad with extensions for either automation or my power grid, and if I need a mission log, I either add a regular landing pad or just fly back to Sylva. :)

    Nice info dump. A little history: Originally the wrecked spaceport only appeared in two locations. The first one was part of the old tutorial system. And the second one was only found on Desolo as a single instance. Usually relatively near the Apollo Lunar Lander Easter egg that was specifically added in celebration of the 50th anv. of the Apollo 11 mission. Approaching the lander will replace the game music with original recording of the Apollo 11 mission, and interacting with the Lander triggers an unique camera filter not available anywhere else.

      fun fact: the solo appearance on Desolo was actually a bug; they were always intended to appear on every planet.

      @@VaingloriousGaming I was not aware of this. It was my understanding that the spaceport served as a kind of marker that the player was near the lunar lander.

      @@MiddKnightAlphaOmega I've heard that from a few sources, the space port being a way to help find the LEM, but I don't think it's true. I tend to start a LOT of new saves, and I have dozens of saves from before the spaceport spawns were corrected that are nowhere near the LEM.

    You can’t craft them because they would need a xl printer

      maybe, but I don't think the lack of a larger printer would make it impossible. the regular landing pad is considered an xl large item and is printed on the large printer, but it is packed in a large item box. plus the lab and rail station are jammed into tiny small objects. I don't think the printer is a limitation.

      The large shelter makes a lot more pavement beneath it when unpackaging, and it doesn't deploy after that either. Resource extractors and XL wind turbines are also of similar bulk.
      Even if the spaceports are somehow considered too large for available printing technology, or are only allowable at their original spawn locations, being able to refurbish them would be nice.
      Or even better, separating the ramps into their own class of object, so not only can we add more ramps to a spaceport, but also use various heights of ramps to traverse multi-level bases.

      @@TlalocTemporal because anything from a printer is the same size as the printer that made it (aside from some things in the small printer) when in a package. so i think the spaceport would be xxl
