    You could probably use your cross-cut jig to make a joint called a "housing dado" to put the shelves in. A "stopped housing dado" would be the best option, but is more technical to make. This will result in a higher quality piece of furniture that will last longer than just sliding the shelving in place and using brad nails. Since you aren't forcing the shelving in place you can also then glue as well as nail it, which will make it stronger and more stable. These improvements would mean you could get a higher price for the furniture, or at least market it as higher quality compared to your competition. Just a thought. I like the colour of the finish.
